Spread The Word

In the months following the July 2008 publication of my book, UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, I have posted online a number of excerpts from it. The book contains dozens of interviews with former or retired U.S. Air Force personnel who were involved in highly-classified, UFO-related incidents at various nuclear weapons sites, including missile launch facilities, nukes storage areas, and bomb/missile test sites during the Cold War era. In some cases, the missiles’ functionality was reportedly compromised immediately after the UFOs hovered over them.
Because I am an American, UFOs and Nukes is written in English. Over time, persons from various countries have emailed me and asked for my permission to translate the posted excerpts into their own languages. I have readily and gladly complied with these requests. Other individuals or organizations have translated the same passages and posted them online without first asking my permission. While I would have preferred a formal request beforehand, as long as those translations are entirely accurate, then I have no objection to their appearance on the Internet.
The intention of this open message is to grant permission to anyone wishing to translate the already-posted excerpts from my book, into any language, for the purpose of posting them on the Internet. I would, however, greatly appreciate being notified of each and any translation.
NOTE: I AM NOT GRANTING PERMISSION TO TRANSLATE MY ENTIRE BOOK, ONLY THOSE EXCERPTS WHICH I MYSELF HAVE ALREADY POSTED ONLINE.
The excerpts in question appear below:
“Beams of Light”
“Launch in Progress!”
“Like a Diamond in the Sky”
“Reporter Duped by UFO Debunkers”
“UFO Sightings at ICBM Sites and Nuclear Weapons Storage Areas”
Given the obvious importance of this long-suppressed information about the UFO-Nukes Connection, I believe that it should be disseminated worldwide. To that end, I urge the translation of my research material into as many languages as possible. I ask only that the original English text be faithfully represented and that the following copyright notice appear with any such translation:
©Copyright 2008 Robert L. Hastings. All Rights Reserved.
I am available for interviews by the media in any country. My website is ufohastings.com and my email address is hastings444@att.net. If I do not reply in a timely fashion, please email me again—and again. Since the publication of my book, I have had some rather suspicious difficulties following-up with journalists worldwide who has expressed interest in writing about my research. While I admittedly have no proof of official tampering, one might speculate that these communications are being disrupted by some agency attempting to suppress the dissemination of my material. If this is indeed the case, don’t let Big Brother win! Keep writing to me until I respond. I am in touch with many other UFO researchers around the world. Write to them, if necessary, and they will forward messages to me.
In summary, nearly 100 U.S. Air Force veterans now openly state that UFOs have been monitoring and sometimes interfering with our nuclear weapons systems. The citizens of every country on Earth have a right to know the truth about these important developments.

Astronomers and UFOs

The Daily Grail
11-29-08
Discovery Channel is launching a new series called UFOs Over Earth (sample videos available via the link), and as part of the publicity for the premiere have included a commentary by Phil 'Bad Astronomy' Plait on the skeptical view of UFOs. Plait - the skeptic du jour, and inheritor to the crown of James 'The Amazing' Randi - has said pretty much the same before, such as in this video:The Daily Grail
11-29-08
In both versions, one of Phil Plait's main assertions is that a certain group of people provide clear evidence that UFOs are simple misidentifications of natural phenomenon, because they - apparently - don't report them:
Amateur astronomers. They are dedicated observers, out every night peering at the sky. If The Truth Is Out There, then amateur astronomers would be reporting far and away the vast majority of UFOs.
But they don't. Why not? Because they understand the sky! They know when a twinkling light is Venus, or a satellite, or a military flare, or a hot air balloon, and so they don't report it.
That, to me, is the killer argument that aliens aren't visiting us. If they were, the amateur astronomers would spot them.
It sounds good and makes for common sense doesn't it? Just one small problem with the argument: it's patently false. Astronomers *do* report UFOs - that's not to say that they are seeing alien spaceships, but in plenty of cases it was certainly something which didn't conform to any natural cause that they can think of. Plait's skeptical argument is not a new one, and has been answered previously, before he put it on like an old jacket. BUFORA's Geoff Falla wrote of this standard skeptical response in his article "Astronomers and UFOs" (PDF):
It is sometimes claimed that astronomers never see UFOs, and that for this reason such objects cannot possibly exist as truly unexplained events. After all, astronomers must spend more time looking at the sky than anyone else, so if there is anything in the sky which should not be there they would surely be aware of it. But astronomers of course do not always have a wide view of the sky. A telescope eyepiece only provides a narrow angle view, and a very small fraction of the sky. Astronomers do, however, sometimes see UFOs - although what may be reported or discussed in public is not the same as what may be admitted in more guarded statements. in 1976, over a thousand members of the American Astronomical Society were asked in a survey if they had experienced any UFO-type observations. A small but significant number, amounting to about five per cent of the members, responded that they had in fact seen an object which they were unable to explain, and which they would classify as a UFO.
There have been several noted reports from astronomers, and from observatories. As far back as 1949, Dr Clyde Tombaugh, famous for his discovery of Pluto in 1930, was at his home in New Mexico with other members of his family when they saw a very strange object in the sky. He was so astonished and concerned that he reported the matter to the FBI, on the understanding that details would not be revealed to the public.
...The search for evidence and for more definitive answers will continue. Where exactly UFOs come from may be neither here nor there, and perhaps in a somewhat different direction, but if anyone says that astronomers never see UFOs - don't believe them. [my emphasis]
Besides Tombaugh (who said of his sighting, "In all of my several thousand hours of night sky-watching, I have never seen anything so strange as this"), Falla lists a few other examples of astronomers reporting unidentifiable phenomena in the sky in his article - but this page goes into far more detail (probably too much - there are some reports I would take issue with...*cough* Adamski *cough*...but you will still find plenty of interest in amongst the dross). Most people interested in the UFO topic could also probably list a few well-known cases - not least that of astrophysicist Jacques Vallee who had his own sighting in the 1950s, as well as being involved in a curious incident while working at the Paris Observatory in 1961.
For all his good points, Phil Plait currently has *no* relevance to the UFO debate, because he seems to have no idea or background knowledge of the topic (quite odd actually, for a prominent skeptic interested and knowledgable in astronomy and space matters). Unless he does and just ignores it for his own convenience. In any case, until he stops simply referencing lights in the sky which might or might not be Venus/swamp gas, and goes further into the more detailed sightings and encounters (including high strangeness reports and effects such as electrical interference), his arguments hold no weight. And as I've said, that's not to say that UFOs are alien vehicles (I tend to think not, personally). But there is a mystery here, something which might provide new knowledge through good science, and it's just...goofy and unscientific...to keep on ignoring it.

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Former Air Force ATC Supervisor Recounts Sighting of Mysterious Light and Post Cover-up

Reader Submitted Report
[Unedited]
11-22-08
Let's see if I can relate my experience to you as it was 35 years ago (1973) when this happened. When I returned from Vietnam in early 1972 after two years, I got assigned to Vandenburg AFB which is located on the California Coast by Lompoc (Point Conception). I was an Air Traffic Control Supervisor in the tower.[Unedited]
11-22-08
My crew and I were working the graveyard shift. It was almost 3 in the morning and I was on the local control position. I was the only one awake since the other two on the crew were fully rated and didn't need any training. We had no traffic scheduled to arrive or depart. All I was waiting for was time to pass so I could go to sleep too.
I then noticed a beam of light shining down on the water right off the coast from about 500 feet high. It was about two miles from the tower, directly across the runway, due west. I looked through my binoculars but couldn't see the source of the light. It was extremely bright. It didn't appear to flare out in an "A" shape. It did a little but mostly it seemed to beam straight down on the water. I could see the surface of the water and where the beam touched it. I broadcasted on my local frequency to see if I could get a response.
At this point I'm assuming it is a hilocopter doing some manuvers there but failed to asvise the tower. No response. That's when it bedgan to move to the north slowly up the coast. I called down to the RAPCON (Radar Approach Control) which closed every night at 11:00 pm. I contacted the maintenance supervisor, who was this no-nonsense E-9, and asked him if he had a target within 5 mile to the west. He did not. He stepped out of the radar trailer and told me he could see it as it was moving north. He went back to the scope but said there weren't any "blind spots" in the area he saw the light but he still didn't have a raw target. I could hear the rest of the maintenance crew freaking out in the background.
By this time the other two controllers were awake and on the land lines to try and find who or what was out there. It continued up the coast till it got to the the northern boundry of the base. Then it started back to the south along the coast. It got back to the position directly abeam the tower and just sat there again. All three of us were trying to get a look at this thing through binoculars but no one could decipher a craft of any type. The maintrenance crew was outside about a mile closer than the tower but couldn't hear anything like what you would expect from a hilocopter. It sat there stationary for another five minutes and went out. It was gone. The whole event took about 20 minutes from beginning to end.
We stood there stunned looking out the tower cab to the west. No one said anything for a whole minute and then we all started chattering, talking about what to do next, all talking at once. I mention this because it was like I could tell we didn't have control of ourselves but I couldn't, and I'm sure the other two couldn 't, do anthing about it. I finally took a deep breath and yelled, "STOP!" I told them there's nothing more we could do. I'll put it in the log and maybe the tower chief will handle this.
When the day shift crew came on, their supervisor read my log but said nothing. He gave me a couple of concerned looks and filed the log into the Chief's folder. He didn't allow the rest of his crew to read it which was standard procedure. I left, glad it was over.
I went home but couldn't sleep. I didn't feel any different other than not being able to sleep. But my wife, who was a school teacher, called in sick because she was so concerned about me. I couldn't perceive any difference in my behavior or deminor, but my wife told me years later that I looked like I was on the verge of tears, my voice sounded a couple of octives higher and I was chattering about nothing incecently.
At 11:00 am, when I'm supposed to be asleep, the Tower Chief calls me and wants me to come to his office. Great! I figured we're going to get to the bottom of this. When I got there he said he re-typed my log and wanted me to sign it. I picked it up and there were two lines on it: We signed in, and we signed out. He never mentioned the light. I signed it. He said thanks, see you in a couple of days, and I left. I don't know, but I figure the rest of the witnesses were treated the same way.
"Underground Base" Conference to Be Held in Dulce, Next March!!

By Norio Hayakawa

A few of us in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area (along with some from California and Arizona) are now planning to have a First "Underground Base" conference in the town of Dulce, New Mexico next March. The tentative date for this unusual conference right in the town of Dulce will be Sunday, March 29, from 10 a.m.The location of this one-day conference will be the Best Western Jicarilla Inn. The conference room, unfortunately, can accommodate only about 25 people the most, but, with extra chairs, it is possible to squeeze in about 35 people. Anyway this unprecedented conference in Dulce is entitled: DULCE BASE, FACT OR FICTION?
We are planning, of course, to invite some of the residents of Dulce, including the families of former police chief, Raleigh Tafoya, along with the families of former Forest Ranger Dispatcher of Dulce, all of whom I got to know last year upon my second visit to Dulce.
The conference will be open to the public-at-large of Dulce, as well.
The decision to have a public announced "underground base" conference right in the town of Dulce came about because of the success of a 1991 Area 51 conference in Rachel, Nevada in which we invited the public-at-large, including anyone affiliated with the Groom Lake complex itself. That conference drew about 95 people, some of whom (anonymous, of course) could very well have been affiliated with the base. Similarly, in 1998 the first People's Rally at Area 51 was held right at the boundary line on Groom Lake road. It drew about 200 people from all over the U.S. as well as a few from Canada. It became a major news item in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Within seven years of the Rally, the government admitted that the base exists officially and just last year, the government announced that compensation will be made to the workers who suffered from illness due to toxic chemicals.
Dulce, however, is a different story. So far, there has not been any solid, physical evidence whatsoever that there is a base near Dulce, such as deep under the Archuleta Mesa. It has all been hearsay. In fact, I would say that most of the 4000 townsfolk there do not believe that there is an underground base there. But, when it comes to UFOs, most of the population there believe in the sightings, since beginning with the mid-70's and lasting till the mid-80's, the entire town of Dulce was overwhelmed by frequent sightings of strange lights over the town. Not only that but many ranchers in the nearby communities began to report mysterious cattle mutilations during that time. Many Dulce officials attended the first Cattle Mutilations conference in Albuquerque in 1978, including then police chief, Raleigh Tafoya.
It was sometime during the mid-80s that rumors of an underground base surfaced…and still continues to this day, so much so that the entire town of Dulce has become associated with the alleged "underground base". Just do a Google search on Dulce, New Mexico and one can get untold number of items relevant to this topic.
Is the town of Dulce bothered by this unusual association with "underground base"? Probably, although the bulk of the townsfolk seem to take it all with a grain of salt. I have my own wild theory on this subject:
WAS DULCE, NEW MEXICO, A NUCLEAR WASTE DUMPING GROUND?
Upon my second visit to Dulce last year, I was quite surprised that in the gift shop at the Best Western Jicarilla Inn, there were a few T-shirts that said "Dulce, Home of the Underground Base", or something to that effect. In other words, some officials there may not mind if more people come there to spend some money, for example, at the casino there or for purchasing fishing and hunting licenses. Will it be good for a little tourism? However, will this conference put an end, once and for all, that there are no underground bases in or near Dulce? It will be fascinating.
The Inn will allow the use of the meeting room for a full day....and the entire total cost of the use of the meeting room is only $75. Therefore, the cost to the public will only be about $2 a person, if, let's say, 35 people show up. We will also invite local newspaper reporters, as well as some local TV news crew from Farmington.
Again, if anyone is interested in helping us with the logistics, etc., please e-mail me at:

Sacramento UFO Explained
By George Warren
News 10

ROSEVILLE, CA - The mystery surrounding a series of lights seen hovering over Roseville Friday night has been solved.
The lights were attached to an airplane that belongs to a Bay Area aerial advertising firm that was announcing the grand opening of a tire store.
"It was the craziest thing I've ever seen," said News10 reporter Angel Cardenas, who recorded a nine-second clip of video from Air10 while flying over a high school football game in Roseville.
The incident prompted a number of calls to News10 and a buzz on the Internet.
The owner of the advertising firm said the plane occasionally stirs UFO sighting reports.
"From a distance it looks unidentified, lights are blinking," said Jason Frost of American Air Lights in Concord. "You can't read the words unless you're in the target audience (below the plane)."
Frost said he welcomed the exposure from the Friday night aerial ad campaign.
"It's good for us," he said.

What Is That?: Callers, Air10 Spot UFO Over Sacramento
By News 10
11-22-08
SACRAMENTO, CA - News10 often receives calls from those who spotted something unusual in the night skies. It's not nearly as common for those calls to be backed up by our own Air10.By News 10
11-22-08
While shooting Friday Night Football highlights over Sacramento, Air10 pilot Ed Georges and FNF correspondent Angel Cardenas spotted a strange set of lights flying over their helicopter.
"I know what aircraft lighting looks like and this was definitely something different," Georges said. "It looked almost like a scrolling message on a blimp to the naked eye. I was at 1,200 feet and it was considerably higher."
Georges said he and Cardenas manuevered the helicopter to get a better look at the lights through Air10's Power Zoom camera.
"(Angel and I) were both amazed at the odd lights and movement. I started flying toward it, but it began to fade away and disappeared to the southeast," Georges said. "Not knowing the size of the object, I couldn't determine how far away we were, but I believe it was some distance away as the image was fuzzy even through the PowerZoom camera."
Not long after their sighting, several callers phoned the News10 newsroom to report seeing the same phenomenon.
When contacted, Federal Aviation Adminstration and Sacramento International Airport spokespeople said they hadn't heard anything about the object and had no idea what the craft could be. A Travis Air Force Base representative said the base had no aircrafts that could be confused with a UFO.
So what is it? Take a look at the video and weigh in with your own verdict.

UFO Filmed Over Sacramento By News Chopper!

By Frank Warren
© 11-22-08
Case in point: last night while shooting film for the “Friday Night Football segment” (high school football), local news chopper, “Air 10,” of the ABC affiliate, “News 10” (KXTV Channel 10) were surprised to discover that they were sharing their airspace with a “strange set of lights.”
The news station was quick to report the sighting by pilot, Ed Georges” and correspondent Angel Cardenas and the fact that they filmed it, (as well as calls from the general public) as seen above—but so far that’s where it ends!
Oddly, there hasn’t been any follow-up, or any more details released (so far) . . . a curious thing all by itself. News choppers are a common fixture in the skies above Sacramento, and when filming in “tight areas” and particularly with other aircraft in the vicinity, the pilot is in constant contact with the closest air-traffic controller, as well as other pilots that occupy the same airspace. Surely attempts were made to find out what the craft was and or whom it belonged to; obviously, this could be a dangerous situation.
Assuming that’s the case, why hasn’t News 10 disclosed any more information? If they had the information wouldn’t they report it and “solve the mystery?” If they are investigating the matter, as should be the case, then why not report on the progress or lack thereof?
Stay tuned as this story develops . . .

Colorado State Patrol Officer Encountered UFO and “Human” Stranger

By Linda Moulton Howe

November 21, 2008 Albuquerque, New Mexico - As a professional journalist, I know that the men and women who work in police departments and sheriff’s offices are often exposed to many high strangeness events that are never reported to the public. I know firsthand from those in law enforcement who told me they had come to the conclusion in the 1970s that the perpetrators of worldwide animal mutilations are “creatures from outer space,” but most of them would not speak on the record in front of a TV camera.Earthfiles.com
© 11-21-2008
So, when I receive a letter or email from a retired law enforcement professional who says he is still haunted by an encounter with a large unidentified aerial craft that occurred in 1992, I try to follow up.
That’s what happened this fall with Jon M. Spaulding, who has given me permission to use his full real name. He was born in 1945 and is now retired at age 63 with a serious breathing disability that might be linked to his UFO encounter in 1992. He worked in law enforcement in Rumford, Maine, and in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, region from 1982 until 2001. He was chief investigator in a detectives team when he retired because of his physical disability.
MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Retired DOE Employee Recalls Seeing Similar 'V-Shaped Craft' at Oak Ridge

Your most recent posting, "Army Veteran Takes Cover While V-shape Craft Passes Overhead," and the accompanying illustration is VERY close to something unexplainable I saw a few years ago. I have long been interested in UFOs and the entire alien question for most of my life, since my teen years (I am 62 now), but had never had a sighting until this one. The craft that I saw looked very much like the one in the illustration of the story, except that the windows or openings I saw were slightly more "square-ish" than rectangular as shown in your illustration. [Unedited]
11-20-08
The sighting came about this way: It was early one morning before daybreak, and at the time I worked for an engineering company that did contract work for the Dept. of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN, although I am now retired from that company. I had about a 20-minute drive to work and had travelled this particular road daily for the previous 10 years. I know the road and its environs very well, all the buildings along the way, apartments and houses, etc. But on this morning (in February of 1999, 2000, or 2001, I can't recall exactly) I approached an intersection that is somewhat rural and had to slow a bit before turning...and at that time my attention was drawn to a brightly lit object up on a hillside about half a mile from where I was. I drove a Jeep Wrangler in those days, so I had a good field of view of the object. I could see it clearly through my windshield, and it was easily as big as a WalMart store. The thing (or craft or whatever it was) had only one side facing my direction, so I could not get a sense of its true shape, but I was seeing what looked like a black or dark-gray "wall" with several square (maybe SLIGHTLY rectangular) openings, similar to your illustration. I pulled to the side of the road and at that time (6:00am) was the only car on the road, to get a good look at the object. It was sort of "resting" at treetop level on the hill, with the bottom of the craft precisely at tree-top level, and it was resting at approximately a 5-degree angle and followed the tree-tops exactly...in other words, it was not parallel to the horizon, but at a 5-degree angle off the horizon.
I stared at the object for at least two or three minutes, and thought to myself, "I'm going to try to find a road or trail up there to see what that is." I knew I could probably navigate any paths or rough roads that might lead to the top of the hill, but as soon as I reached for the gear shift another thought sort of "popped" into my head..."You need to get to work." Notice it wasn't "I need to get to work" but rather "You need to get to work." And so I just put the Jeep in gear and drove on to work that morning.
I have driven past that point many, many times since that morning, and there is absolutely nothing up on that hill...no houses, no sheds or barns, not a single structure that could have been mistaken for a UFO.
I have thought about the experience many times since then.
What was it that I saw? Why, after many years of wanting to see a UFO up close and personal did the thought appear in my mind "You need to go to work!" Where did that thought originate from? From my own mind or from somewhere else?
It is a true mystery to me, but the few illustrations of these triangular craft that I have seen suggest to me that it was one of them that for some reason was touring the East Tennessee area near Oak Ridge and Knoxville.

Peculiar Craft Over Stephenville Leaves Witnesses Stunned!

What in the world continues to fly in the skies over Stephenville, Texas? Some say it’s better termed as “out of this world.”Upon the heels of multiple sightings in the area on October 23, last Tuesday, November 18, proved just as noteworthy for local residents.
Michael Corn, 27, and former member of the United States Army assigned to a Patriot Missile Unit from 2003 to 2006, saw something for which he has no explanation.
Corn said while at home at the intersection of Hwy 377 Business and U.S. Hwy 281, friends called him outside at approximately 7:15 p.m.
As he looked toward the small town of Dublin in the southwest sky he saw what appeared to be a brightly lit hovering object.
“It looked really close to Stephenville like it was almost over the courthouse,” Corn said.
He said the lights pulsed in a right to left direction.
Corn estimated the lights might have been as large as a quarter held between the thumb and forefinger at arms length. He described the lights as an amber or orange color.
“I could see the bottom of the object from the illumination of those lights and the city lights,” Corn said. “The bottom (of the craft) looked smooth.
“There is no way you could be outside and look up in the sky and not notice this thing. It was just weird.”
Corn said he observed the object for about 15 seconds and then suddenly it disappeared without making a sound like it had never been there.
“It just vanished,” he said.
When questioned about the possibility of the craft perhaps being an experimental project of the military, he said, “I know that we couldn’t make it. I don’t believe it’s ours. I got the impression that it has technology that we are not capable of understanding.”
Corn said he is familiar with all types of aircraft because of his experience in the Army and he grew up near DFW airport.
“It was very unnerving – you can’t come up with a reasonable explanation for what it was,” Corn said.
Corn’s girlfriend, Ashley Couch, also observed the object.
“It reminded me of a carousel lying over on its side,” Couch said. “I don’t think a quarter would have covered up the lights. I think they were larger than that.”
Another observer a short distance away at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 281 and North Loop 377 said she could not explain what she had seen at the same time of 7:15 p.m. For the sake of anonymity the 20 year old will be called “Leslie.”
Leslie was traveling north on Loop 377 when her boyfriend called her attention to the vehicle just ahead that seemed to be strangely illuminated.
“He asked me if I saw those weird lights,” Leslie said. “ But, I hadn’t noticed anything.”
She said they pulled into the Shell station at the intersection to gas up for a trip to Granbury.
When they exited their vehicle, a man pulled in at the gas pumps and asked if they had seen the weird lights.
“He said he was a pilot and after my boyfriend had just asked me about lights so that got my attention,” Leslie said.
Entering back into traffic on the loop headed north is when they both saw an object.
“It was coming down at a slight angle – slowly – it had a bright big light, a steady light and a blinking light,” she said, “ for a total of three.”
“One was red and maybe that was the one that was blinking…I’m not sure,” Leslie said.
The couple was so mesmerized they slowed down to almost a stop in the road.
“It pivoted to our left side, maybe 50 yards away and 75 yards up in the air,” she said. “It looked almost like it was hovering. The lights were so bright it was hard to see the shape, but the bottom looked a silver gray color.”
Leslie said they passed the object and she looked back to see if it was going to land at the nearby local airport, Clark Field. But, she was unable to see it.
“We turned around and went back to the Shell station,” she said. They turned back around again to see if they could spot it.
“There we saw it again, but this time it was on our right moving left across in front of us,” Leslie said. “It turned again and looked like it was about to stop and went back the other way. It went back in the direction from which it had come.”
Leslie said it could not have been a plane and at first she was wondering if the object was about to land on the highway.
“It looked like if it were going to land it was going to land on the highway,” Leslie said. “The lights were so bright it was almost hard to look at it. I think it might have been blimp shaped and about the size of two school buses. It was hard to tell.”
Leslie said what she and her boyfriend witnessed was not normal.
“When I think of something unidentified I don’t think of little green men,” she said.
She said she feels the object could be something being tested by the military.
“We were a little bit frightened,” Leslie said. “Until you see something like that you don’t really understand. I’ve made fun of people for seeing stuff like that and now I saw it.”
Leslie said she’s heard others commenting on what they saw that will not come forward.
“So many people won’t tell what they’ve seen around here because they think people are going to think they’re crazy,” she said.
Area law enforcement officers said about 10 calls were received during the time of this sighting reporting a craft and/or lights. While some may have seen flares, one officer said not all of the calls were related to flares dropped in the Brownwood Military Operating Area just prior to 7 p.m.

EDMONTON - Calls are pouring in about the sight of a bright light in the skies over the Edmonton area.edmontonjournal.com

Marcel Gobeil, who lives on a farm just west of Beaumont, was sitting in his living room when he heard what he describes as a "loud boom," followed by the sight of bright colourful lights just before 5:30 p.m.
"At first I thought it was fireworks," said Gobeil. "I've never seen anything like it; it was green and blue and then turned to bright red.
"It was pretty big."
Gobeil said he also saw the object hit the ground about 10 seconds later.
"It seemed like it fell on Beaumont, but it's more likely it landed in Manitoba or Saskatchewan if it was a meteorite," he said.
Edmonton fire dispatchers, meanwhile, said they contacted both the international and municipal airports after reports of the bright lights to see if an airplane had gone down. They still have no idea what the object was.
"Everyone seems to have seen something," one dispatcher said, "but we have no call on it."

It was on 7 Nov 08 at about 8:00PM, I just left a friends from down the road to pick up some things from my house, I looked behind my property and above the pines I noticed a light that seemed like a plane with its fog light on or something. I waited to see it pass over because it just seemed weird to me, I have never seen one shine like this, at first I thought it was a star? as it came over I got down beside my truck and hid, I only freaked out because my dog went under the porch and he is not bothered by much!! it was the shape of a triangle and had these weird lights that almost seemed like a floresant light that was kinda blue and square lights in the back. I was pretty dam scared because I kept telling myself "any moment I will hear the engines from the jet motors after it passes over" I swear it never made a sound as it passed over! I mean I could have spit on it it was so close, whats so funny is that the next day I could'nt remember details about the craft so I thought about it and went inside and drew a picture of it on my computer, My wife thinks Im crazy but I cant help what I saw! anyways thanks for hearing me out!!
