A northside woman who was at Dublin Airport at the weekend managed to get a photo of a strange unidentified light she spotted in the sky. The Dubliner - who asked not to be named - was in the airport yesterday morning when she saw a bright light appear to hover in the sky above the busy plane hub. | By Aengus O'Hanlon www.dublinlive.ie 11-19-18 |

Upon the heels of multiple sightings in the area on October 23, last Tuesday, November 18, proved just as noteworthy for local residents.
Michael Corn, 27, and former member of the United States Army assigned to a Patriot Missile Unit from 2003 to 2006, saw something for which he has no explanation.
Corn said while at home at the intersection of Hwy 377 Business and U.S. Hwy 281, friends called him outside at approximately 7:15 p.m.
As he looked toward the small town of Dublin in the southwest sky he saw what appeared to be a brightly lit hovering object.
“It looked really close to Stephenville like it was almost over the courthouse,” Corn said.
He said the lights pulsed in a right to left direction.
Corn estimated the lights might have been as large as a quarter held between the thumb and forefinger at arms length. He described the lights as an amber or orange color.
“I could see the bottom of the object from the illumination of those lights and the city lights,” Corn said. “The bottom (of the craft) looked smooth.
“There is no way you could be outside and look up in the sky and not notice this thing. It was just weird.”
Corn said he observed the object for about 15 seconds and then suddenly it disappeared without making a sound like it had never been there.
“It just vanished,” he said.
When questioned about the possibility of the craft perhaps being an experimental project of the military, he said, “I know that we couldn’t make it. I don’t believe it’s ours. I got the impression that it has technology that we are not capable of understanding.”
Corn said he is familiar with all types of aircraft because of his experience in the Army and he grew up near DFW airport.
“It was very unnerving – you can’t come up with a reasonable explanation for what it was,” Corn said.
Corn’s girlfriend, Ashley Couch, also observed the object.
“It reminded me of a carousel lying over on its side,” Couch said. “I don’t think a quarter would have covered up the lights. I think they were larger than that.”
Another observer a short distance away at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 281 and North Loop 377 said she could not explain what she had seen at the same time of 7:15 p.m. For the sake of anonymity the 20 year old will be called “Leslie.”
Leslie was traveling north on Loop 377 when her boyfriend called her attention to the vehicle just ahead that seemed to be strangely illuminated.
“He asked me if I saw those weird lights,” Leslie said. “ But, I hadn’t noticed anything.”
She said they pulled into the Shell station at the intersection to gas up for a trip to Granbury.
When they exited their vehicle, a man pulled in at the gas pumps and asked if they had seen the weird lights.
“He said he was a pilot and after my boyfriend had just asked me about lights so that got my attention,” Leslie said.
Entering back into traffic on the loop headed north is when they both saw an object.
“It was coming down at a slight angle – slowly – it had a bright big light, a steady light and a blinking light,” she said, “ for a total of three.”
“One was red and maybe that was the one that was blinking…I’m not sure,” Leslie said.
The couple was so mesmerized they slowed down to almost a stop in the road.
“It pivoted to our left side, maybe 50 yards away and 75 yards up in the air,” she said. “It looked almost like it was hovering. The lights were so bright it was hard to see the shape, but the bottom looked a silver gray color.”
Leslie said they passed the object and she looked back to see if it was going to land at the nearby local airport, Clark Field. But, she was unable to see it.
“We turned around and went back to the Shell station,” she said. They turned back around again to see if they could spot it.
“There we saw it again, but this time it was on our right moving left across in front of us,” Leslie said. “It turned again and looked like it was about to stop and went back the other way. It went back in the direction from which it had come.”
Leslie said it could not have been a plane and at first she was wondering if the object was about to land on the highway.
“It looked like if it were going to land it was going to land on the highway,” Leslie said. “The lights were so bright it was almost hard to look at it. I think it might have been blimp shaped and about the size of two school buses. It was hard to tell.”
Leslie said what she and her boyfriend witnessed was not normal.
“When I think of something unidentified I don’t think of little green men,” she said.
She said she feels the object could be something being tested by the military.
“We were a little bit frightened,” Leslie said. “Until you see something like that you don’t really understand. I’ve made fun of people for seeing stuff like that and now I saw it.”
Leslie said she’s heard others commenting on what they saw that will not come forward.
“So many people won’t tell what they’ve seen around here because they think people are going to think they’re crazy,” she said.
Area law enforcement officers said about 10 calls were received during the time of this sighting reporting a craft and/or lights. While some may have seen flares, one officer said not all of the calls were related to flares dropped in the Brownwood Military Operating Area just prior to 7 p.m.

Politician and Pilot Spot UFO in Meath

By The Belfast Telegraph
9-29-08
The truth is out there - and if a police officer, a politician and a pilot are to be believed, aliens are keeping a close eye on us from above.9-29-08
Dramatic eye-witness testimony was heard at a conference over the weekend which, delegates were told, provided "definitive" proof of recent UFO activity in the skies around north Dublin and Meath.
Footage, filmed on a camera phone at 10.35pm on August 3 near Dunboyne was also played and replayed to over 70 delegates who attended the fifth Irish International UFO conference in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The triangular shaped image, with lights at each point, which appeared to send a red laser-type light towards earth, drew gasps of amazement from the 70 or so delegates who attended the world premiere of the footage.
A senior garda officer who was driving when he noticed the unusual light formation in the sky stopped to film it.
"There is no footage like this in the world. It is the most amazing and spectacular I have ever seen," said Carl Nally, co-founder of UFO and Paranormal Research Ireland and joint author of 'Conspiracy of Silence'.
Five days earlier, on July 29, an off-duty pilot who photographed lightning from Howth pier just after midnight later noticed what appeared to be a triangular-shaped object to the right of the lightning fork in the developed image.
And Fianna Fail Town Councillor in Trim, Jimmy Peppard, ran indoors for a camera on August 8 when he spotted a triangular-shaped object measuring "about a mile in diameter" in the sky, where it remained static for about half an hour.
"What we have here is sightings of three objects east, west and south-east of Dublin airport, each five days apart by reliable and trained observers and even since I have arrived here I have received another image from a pilot," Mr Nally told the conference.
He later described the laser beam footage as the best footage on the planet and said it would be shown all over the world. "This is what the sceptics are crying out for. What all this footage has in common is that trained observers, honest people, took it. What better could you get than a senior garda, a politician and a pilot," he said.
He added that he would not rule out speculation that increased UFO activity in the north Dublin and Meath areas was linked to the road construction works near Tara. "We cannot rule this out as a possibility. We are talking about a very ancient sacred place," he said.
Ross Hemsworth, who presents a TV show on Sky which investigates the paranormal, said he would reserve judgment until he examined the footage more closely.
"There have been a lot of sightings in Ireland in a lot of strange places and the proximity to the digging of the motorway may have opened things up," he said.
Delegates at the two-day event, organised by Betty Meyler, President of the UFO Society of Ireland, otherwise immersed themselves in talk of orbs, luminosity, crop circles, alien abductions and star children. And ex-oilfield executive Ian Crane warned of plans for a fake alien invasion to be staged at the 2012 Olympics in London by the terrorists behind 9/11 and other atrocities, in their quest for global control.
For organiser Betty Meyler the conference provided an opportunity for like-minded people to come together and make friends. "Before, people were afraid to report sightings because they did not want to be thought of as 'cuckoo' but that has changed now," she said.

MUFON Investigates more Erath County UFO Sighting Reports

Not knowing what to expect in the way of numbers of witnesses, eight field investigators attended from the organization from Austin, Waco, Dallas/ Fort Worth, and said they were pleased with results.
Chief Investigator Steve Hudgeons was asked if he believed the new reports were credible and said investigators are often faced with reports from individuals only wanting to get in on the action.
"Of the reports I have reviewed, I didn't get an impression that witnesses were not honest in their accounts," Hudgeons said. "As I have said before, this is a very, very, significant sighting."
Hudgeons conducted an interview with star witness Ricky Sorrells, who was first interviewed by Angela K. Brown of the Associated Press, on Jan. 14. After that interview was released, his story of the daytime UFO sighting at his property just outside of Dublin, quickly traveled around the world and major news outlets converged on Stephenville, Texas, the next day.
"I knew most of his (Sorrells') report because we had talked on the phone days earlier, but you never know a person until you have met them face to face," Hudgeons said. "I found him to be a man of his word because he told me he was going to see me for an interview, and he did come in, even though he was sick and not feeling well. We talked alone for almost an hour. I learned a good deal about his sighting that I hadn't known prior to our visit. He was very direct with his questions and answers. I admire and respect that quality in a person."
Hudgeons said, according to MUFON records, the total number of sighting reports in Texas, beginning in 1977 and continuing through late 2007, is slightly more than 400.
"From November 2007 to date, the number of sightings are in the neighborhood of about 150," Hudgeons said. "We are still investigating nearly 100 reports across Texas."
Media had been warned off the Saturday gathering due to several witnesses leaving when cameras turned in their direction at the Jan. 19 meeting with an estimated crowd of about 400, and more than a dozen media outlets. But a few local reporters attended, as well as one from the Los Angeles Times, although no cameras were allowed inside the building.
Frank Wachowe, 32, with Mamone Productions, traveled from St. Louis, Missouri, spending about 17 hours on the road, and plans on producing a documentary film on the UFO phenomenon occurring around the area.
His plans include investigating the "personal and emotional side of witnessing a UFO."
Wachowe said he is interested in documenting the impact of the sighting on the various communities involved in Erath County.
"How does something this extraordinary impact the culture of a community?" Wachowe said is one area he will explore.
Wachowe said he holds a Bachelor's in media productions from Webster University in St. Louis and another in anthropology from the University of Missouri in St. Louis.
Autumn Humphreys with The History Channel's UFO Hunters was also in attendance, and said a crew from her company will arrive on Sunday, Feb. 24. In an earlier interview, she said the episode, which will include interviews with area witnesses, will probably be aired in late April or early May. Humphreys said the company has set up a temporary office in downtown Stephenville on Graham Street.
Meanwhile, Hudgeons said he and others are working nights and weekends in an effort to expedite a final report, which will be made public.
"I am a project manager for a commercial construction company and I have my own company as a side job drawing blue prints for other construction companies," Hudgeons said. "I am basically working seven days a week. Now, having said that, the events in the Dublin area have been occurring and are continuing with no foreseeable let up. All of the members on the investigation team work for a living and we cannot continue (the investigation) forever."
"I woke up this morning (Sunday after the meeting) with three new sighting reports in Texas," Hudgeons said. "I haven't looked them up as yet to see where they are so I can make assignments."
Hudgeons said a full report in a timeline format will be issued by MUFON soon. The report will include the final analysis of Stephenville resident David Coran's video, of Jan. 19 and 20, which was seen on many news broadcasts and Web sites. Some have referred to the lights in the video as being similar to hieroglyphic symbols.
"It (final report) will be posted in the April issue of the MUFON Journal, and I plan to hold a news conference at the Dublin Rotary Club in April," Hudgeons said. "Once again I wish to thank the Rotary Club for hosting our two meetings. MUFON was greeted warmly, and we are very appreciative."
Hudgeons said he and other members always enjoy visiting Dublin Dr Pepper, as well as meeting the friendly folks in Dublin.
Hudgeons said investigators for the organization are not paid and cover all of their own expenses.

MUFON Planning Return Trip to Dublin

By AMANDA KIMBLE

Investigators with the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) are preparing for round two of witness interviews in what is now being called the largest mass UFO sighting since the case of the Phoenix Lights, which occurred in 1997.
Since the Empire-Tribune first broke the story about area residents spotting an unidentified flying object hovering in the skies above Erath County on Jan. 8, the cowboy capitol has been abuzz with worldwide media attention and some accounts say that the sightings have continued.
Following the sightings and media coverage, investigators from MUFON first traveled to Dublin on Jan. 19 and invited locals to come forth and tell what they experienced during the first few weeks of 2008. More than 400 individuals, including witnesses and a slew of reporters, camera crews and other media personnel from around the world, attended the meeting.
More than 50 area witnesses reported seeing unusual lights of varying shapes, sizes and colors and the DFW Chapter of MUFON recently reported on their Web site, www.mufondfw.org, that from Jan. 8 - Jan. 30, a total of 154 reports were received from across the state. The Web site also states that those 154 reports are in addition to those gathered on Jan. 19. The total number of accounts from across the state is now more than 200, although some of the reports date as far back as the 1960s.
Steve Hudgeons, a senior field investigator with MUFON, said the organization has reserved the Dublin Rotary Building for Feb. 23. The meeting is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Ken Cherry, state director with MUFON Texas, said in a telephone interview Tuesday that investigators don’t expect to uncover new information during the meeting, but hope to gather greater details to help with the investigation.
“We do have an unusual opportunity, due to large number of witnesses involved, to gather additional information to come up with more accurate composites of the two types of UFOs being reported. The more information we gather, the better. More reports and details of sightings can help us determine the object’s direction of travel and speed. We can pinpoint where the witnesses were and use the information to triangulate more accurately what it is that was sighted.”
Cherry explained that only a handful of people typically report such sightings, which makes this case so extraordinary.
“Normally, we have too little information and too few data points; so, this is a very special case,” Cherry said.
In hopes of getting to the bottom of the unusual occurrences that have surrounded the county, MUFON will compile information gathered during the Jan. 19 meeting, reports made through www.mufon.com and greater details gathered at this weekend’s meeting to determine what it is that area residents saw flying high in the sky above Erath County.
Cherry also explained that, due to the large number of reports, it would be some time before MUFON issues an official report on their findings.

'Stephenville' Investigator's Report

By Terry Groff
The Dallas - Fort Worth Mutual UFO Network
1-22-08
It was sheer madness in Dublin, Texas on Saturday.
Our team consists of:
- Ken Cherry - Texas State Director
- Robert Powell - Director of Research, Field Investigator (FI)
- David Keel - State Section Director (SSD), FI
- Mike DeGroff - SSD, FI
- Steve Hudgeons - Assistant State Director (ASD), Sr. FI
- James Shatley - ASD
- Myself - FI
- Gary Neitzel - FI
- Paula Schermerhorn - FI
I rode down to Dublin with ASD James Shatley. We could tell we were approaching Stephenville with the myriad of business marquees saying things like "Aliens Welcome" and "ET prefers Purple Tacos", We saw no such signs in Dublin but I'm sure they were there.
We arrived shortly before noon and it seemed relatively quiet. The meeting was hosted by the local Rotary Club who graciously offered their hall for our use.
We walked in and there were only a handful of people there including our team. I thought to myself that perhaps this might be easier than we first thought. There was media there including NBC and FOX but there wasn't a crush of curiosity seekers... yet.
Just before 1:00 pm the madness began. Ultimately there would be around 500 people filling the hall designed for 200 people. We had the usual suspects that we quickly put in their place, particularly anyone who attempted to come in wearing tin foil hats. They were instantly told to remove them.
I was truly worried that the media would scare away many witnesses and I was right. Many did leave or never showed up because they were afraid of over-exposure. Yet, many did stay and we interviewed around 40 witnesses from all walks of life and age ranges. I personally interviewed a Grade School Teacher, an Anesthesiologist, a College Instructor, a Rancher, an Escrow Closer, a Day Care Worker and a retired Agronomist.
After a brief introduction of our team we began the interview process. We secured a separate room but it was far from secluded. We didn't allow the media in the room with a couple of exceptions, but the room was still exposed through the open double doors and there were constant cameras poking through the door to get their shots. I did see my face on the evening news in Dallas.
I noticed that this event drew people out that otherwise would not have reported what they saw, mainly because they didn't know how or to whom. Oddly, none of the witnesses I interviewed were witness to the event(s) of January 8th - all were from December '07 - none of which correlated with the others. My witness' reports consisted of a Black Triangle, Neon Green Orbs, repeating orange explosions and one CE3 in the witness' bedroom. This witness also stated that they had been being abducted for years but it had been more than 10 years since the last.
This investigation is ongoing and our intention is to return to Dublin in about a month to do more interviews in which the media will not be invited nor allowed to attend. We plan to publish our results in the April issue of The MUFON UFO Journal.
