I awoke from a brief nap in my recliner and leaned over to tell my wife that I was going to bed. I glanced to the clock on the television, it was 8:30 pm. As I walked down the hallway to the master bedroom, I noticed the bedroom window was open. The weather was most pleasant this March 13 evening, temp. 75 degrees, clear and no wind.(Jim Schnebelt Fox 10 weather) Typical Arizona spring evening. I ran down the hallway, grabbed my glasses off the bar and yelled to my wife, of 25 years, "get outside right now!" Without hesitation she followed me out the back arcadia door to the edge of our patio. (I have timed this since and it took app. 8-10 sec)

Standing at the edge of our patio, facing west, and looking north, confussion struck me. For there was no plane crash, but coming from the north and heading south was one, single structure that looked like a giant boomerang. (the description of boomerang, chevron (best), and V shaped object all apply). This object stuck out like a sore thumb in the evening sky due to the fact we were looking north towards the Phoenix metro area, and the city lights gave us a grey background in which to view this huge black V shaped object. It was so low to the surface we could not believe it. I remember saying, "what the hell is that?"

Boomerang Shaped Object at Collarenebri, NSW, Australia

[...] My Uncle and I were on a road trip to the outback of NSW to paint on a property just to the North of Broken Hill, NSW Australia. We had driven from Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland and had decided to camp for the night at the football oval camping area near the Barwon River at Collarenebri NSW. The football oval is on the opposite side of the Barwon River to the township of Collarenebri. At about 9 pm we had retired for the evening, my Uncle was sleeping in the rooftop tent on my 2005 Hyundai Terracan, 4WD vehicle and I was sleeping on a mattress inside the rear of the vehicle, with the windows and rear door open and covered in fly-screen, my head towards the front of the vehicle.

I was laying down and looking at the stars to the North East, when I saw a thin, light blue and grey smoky coloured object appear, about 20 metres above the treetops. I think it would have been about the size of the full moon, with the foggy part extending each side, to make it appear bigger. The object could have risen from the ground, when I first noticed the object it was above the trees a couple of hundred metres to the North East of my position.

The object rose in the night sky and moved closer towards our position. It appeared to be a flock of Corellas at first, as I had mistaken the movement of the lights to be white wings of birds. As it came closer I could see that it resembled a Boomerang shape and had multiple revolving white lights on its underside.

As the object got closer, and higher in the sky, I could see that it was a translucent, cloudy, fog like, and boomerang shaped, with multiple white revolving lights underneath, about as bright as stars. No noise was heard when this object moved overhead about 30 metres above the treetops. I pushed my head out of the flyscreen which was covering the gap of the open, rear, passenger side window and I watched it go over the top of the vehicle until I could no longer see it.

The lights on the underside were about as bright as stars in the Milky Way, which were surrounding it, maybe that is why I say that it appeared translucent because the intensity of those lights were not dissimilar to the stars.

The object was about 30 metres across and about 8 to 10 metres thick in the middle of the Boomerang V shape. It moved very quickly and smoothly, I observed the object for about five seconds while it silently and quickly headed in a Westerly direction. It appeared to accelerate and kept accelerating as I was watching it, over a period of about five seconds from the time I first saw it. I could definitely see the underside at this point in time, which was covered in about 20 revolving white lights, which were brighter in the middle. I could see that it was a Boomerang shape and it was translucent, in that I could see through it, although it had lost its cloudiness by this time. [...]

"We didn't know what it was and I took a picture of it on my iPod. When I zoomed in, we could see that it was a V-shape."

     UFO sightings don't always get media attention immediately after they occur. When they do, however, those stories are often packed with surprises, even for an old man like me, who has been reporting on these things for decades.

I have written about pilots, for example, who rarely speak out about UFO encounters out of fear of ridicule. After all, who wants to fly with a pilot who "sees things" in the sky? That's a career killer.

That's just one reason timing isn't all that important in my line of work. The real question is the evidence, and that largely comes down to a witness's credibility.

Is there a photograph or a video? Can that account be corroborated? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, it doesn't matter if the sighting was a week ago or a year ago. Suddenly, it's an unexplained phenomena.

I recently stumbled upon such a story. And it began with a personal surprise.

The UFO part of the tale started around 8 p.m. on Oct. 5. In the rural north end of Concord, New Hampshire, Ben Speigel was hanging around with a neighborhood friend when something caught their attention in the distance above some trees. . . .

     A South Carolina witness at Cowpens reported watching two boomerang-shaped UFOs with the “clearest lights ever seen,” according to testimony in Case 59566 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The Vietnam veteran says he has never seen aircraft like this before.

“It was shaped like a boomerang,” the witness stated. “Had 4-foot by 8-foot lights inside and outside of each angle.”

The witness described the object.

“Clearest lights ever seen. One nose light. Nothing flashing. Maybe 50 mph or less. Eight to 10 lights on each slope. Vehicles were 1,000 feet apart.”

The witness could not identify the object.

“No blimp. It had wing spans of 100 feet and 100 feet at end of triangle.” . . .

California witness photographs boomerang UFO

     A Los Angeles witness reported watching and photographing a boomerang-shaped UFO in the sky about 8:30 p.m. on April 8, 2014, according to testimony in Case 55308 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside in his vehicle the object was first noticed.

"When it popped up and it was moving quickly, I knew it was a UFO," the witness stated. "The optic was really bright and it kept moving straight forward."

The witness took two photos of the object

"I was not able to see where the object left because I glanced forward to see if there was anything else in the sky. I looked back and it just disappeared." . . .

      A HUNTER family captured video footage of what appears to be the same mysterious UFO that was featured in yesterday’s Newcastle Herald.

And a Mayfield reader has submitted a photograph [above] of another strange image captured on Monday night. . . .

. . . That story recounted the experience of the Hardy family of Belmont, who photographed a row of bright lights in the sky on Friday night.

They also told of seeing a bright blue light that moved quickly in several directions and changed colour to red.

Yesterday, the Herald was alerted to a YouTube video that had been posted by another Belmont family and filmed on the night of September 30:

With sound of the family talking as they watch, a blue globe – similar to the object that was described yesterday by Richard Hardy – is seen hanging stationary in the sky before moving north over a lit skyline.

While the object is blue for the length of the 1 minute and 25 seconds of footage, a voice is heard talking about it having turned from red to blue. . . .

      A BELMONT family say they were left speechless by a UFO they photographed in the sky over Lake Macquarie on Friday night.

And a second family, which saw what appears to have been the same object from their vantage point at Valentine, are also unable to give a rational explanation for their sighting.

The accompanying photograph – enhanced by the Newcastle Herald for publication – shows a bright row of white lights along what looks, to this writer, like the leading edge of a boomerang. . . .

Argentina: Possible Boomerang-Shaped UFO and Explosion?

     On the evening of Monday, November 3 of this year, five members of the Villamea family, members of the FAO in Quilmes, observed from different positions the transit of a boomerang-shaped object from north to south, making no noise whatsoever and with three lights arranged in its lower section. The time was 22:15 hours.

Forty-five minutes later, a bizarre explosion made itself heard over various districts of the city of La Plata, covering a broad area with hundreds of witnesses. The local newspaper EL DIA picked up all local remarks. Most people claimed to have heard a loud detonation...others saw flashes...and still others reported the sudden appearance of a strong wind.

The Civil Defense, the Naval Prefecture and the Police claim to ignore the causes. The Astronomical Observatory also dismissed the possibility of a meteorite impact, while any connection with the phenomenon was dismissed by the YPF refinery and ENARSA, which is building an electric plant in Ensenada. CEAMSE, which is on the way to the Punta Lara beach, also dismissed the possibility of an explosion caused by an accumulation of gas. In short, "they all washed their hands." The fact is that the mystery is ongoing.

It is evident that little more than 30 kilometers link the cities of Quilmes and La Plata, and the difference in minutes between the boomerang-shaped object and the explosion make both episodes related in one way or another. If we discard the launching of a missile, a fall of space junk, and a meteorite, this would lend credence to the passing or disintegration of an unknown body as the cause of the loud report. If it was a UFO, regardless of its origin, whether manmade or ET...did it disintegrate at high altitude? Or did its passing over the skies of Buenos Aires shatter the sound barrier and caused what everyone heard? Similar events have already occurred in our country and nothing is strange in the light of these events. For that reason, we are still investigating. If you are aware of any similar episode last Monday night, we are grateful for your input. This is a hard task and it is done between us all, like any UFO investigation. The Air Force and Los Piñones? They're doing fine, thanks.

Case closed: Boomerang object reported 300 feet from witnesses' roof line

      A Minnesota witness at Eden Prairie reported two encounters with unidentified objects including a boomerang-shaped object that appeared 300 feet from his roof line, according to testimony in Cases 47870 and 47499 both closed as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) announced September 12, 2013.

The witness was outside smoking at 10:50 p.m. on May 18, 2013, when the first object was noticed.

"Looked up towards the Big Dipper and saw the two oval reddish lights," the witness stated. "Then noticed the crescent shape between the lights. It started on a straight path. Suddenly made multiple S-shaped maneuvers in the pattern of how a snake looks when it moves. Very, very fast."

The witness stated he lives near two airports, but has never seen anything like this before.

"It was very low and made no sound. The lights were oval and sort of dim. Clear sky. Mild humidity. It lasted maybe 10-15 seconds. It went across the whole sky in this short time and got smaller and faded out like it left the atmosphere." . . .

     Pretty close depiction Frank ,but it was lower, buzzing closer, faster over our heads. Hardly any pine trees in that area, mostly aspens.

A couple of days later, I called my sister in Cedar City, Utah, ( we live about 50 miles south). I started out saying, " Mxxx, you are not going to believe what I am about to tell you but it is the truth." Before I could say anything else, she said: "You must have seen the flying saucer Jxxx watched for an hour last night out west of Cedar City." Of course I told her our story ( I'm not sharing this around our neighborhood. Most people would question our sanity). However, we are believers. What is going on? Any ideas?

Can you imagine my shock! Jxxx, my brother-in-law, had watched something which presented itself as massive. bright lights hoovering, stationary. He watched "it" for about an hour then stepped back in the house to call anotther family member to see it. When he returned a couple of minutes later, "it" was gone.

Hmm! Could that have been the mother ship?

     What I saw is unexplainable but real. The event happened on Cedar Mountain July 5, 2007, about 12:00 noon or shortly after at the base of Black Mountain about 14 miles east of Cedar City, Utah, where our family has an old cabin.

Six of us witnessed either in sound or by sight the following incident: My son-in-law and his son, age five, and daughter, age three, had the tailgate of their pickup down getting snacks out of a cooler. I was sitting on a folding chair on the front porch of the cabin,facing north,about 40 feet on an angle from those three to my left. My husband and our daughter were on a right angle ( but out of my sight) on the east end of the cabin. We formed kind of a V shape with me in the middle. I heard a whirring, zooming sound, looked to my right as a boomerang shaped black object sped, faster than sound, lower than the cabin roof, maneuvering between two aspen trees. At first I thought it was some kind of a black black bird diving for prey. Then my husband and daughter rushed back toward me saying " Did you see that, what the heck was it?" My daughter Julie had looked up just as it passed over her head. She got a clear view of it. My husband saw it, shadow like, and expressed that it disappeared so fast it was almost like it had entered another dimension. The son-in-law said he heard something strange, then ducked because it passed so close over his head. The children heard the noise but could not express what it was like.

The object was not saucer shaped; the wing span from 4 to 6 feet wide. It directed itself or was directed by something exactly in the V-shape that we made--as if to get a better look at us, or frighten us. We were not frightened but puzzled and somewhat disturbed after the fact as we discussed what we had just witnessed.

My personal opinion contains many possibilities: One being a spy ship sent out from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, practicing. Two being something from outer space "snooping" for information. Regardless, the event was extra ordinary and left us all amazed.

No, we don't take drugs or drink. We simply witnessed something unexplainable. I testify that what we saw was not a bird, that he traveled faster than sound and that six of us witnessed the event. The flying object was too small to have a "man-creature" in it.

     I saw a UFO one night on my way home after work--it was dark and I saw a boomerang shaped object hovering above me--it had a circle of lights around the outer rim.

It was very close to me--just a little over the roof of my car--about treetop level.

I stared up at it until I turned off the road to go down the street that led to my house.

That was the closest UFO encounter I have had.

As I pulled the window closed, my eyes were attracted to the three huge, bright white lights angled down and very low to the ground. "Plane crash!" I thought. These lights were way too low and angled in a way nothing I know of could pull out of.

I ran down the hallway, grabbed my glasses off the bar and yelled to my wife, of 25 years, "get outside right now!" Without hesitation she followed me out the back arcadia door to the edge of our patio. (I have timed this since and it took app. 8-10 sec)

The huge V shaped craft was moving slowly to the south. At this point, still northwest of us, we both saw a 737 in landing approach pass over the object. The plane was coming in from the west heading east. The V shaped craft was heading south from the north. As the 737 passed over the V shaped object, I said, "did you see that! Why didn't the plane get the hell out of there?" But it didn't. The pilot nor the planes computers saw nothing. (Just like the radars at Sky Harbor and Luke AFB. Nothing was detected.)

I would like to explain more on this incident. We live app. 23 miles ESE of Sky Harbor in Phoenix. Planes coming in to land (most of the time) will come out by us, bank to the north (left), proceed for app. 10-12 miles, bank left again (west) and land at Sky Harbor. This is normal landing pattern. I have talked to airline pilots, tower operators, and investigators about the altitude of planes coming in to land at Sky Harbor, at the point of the first bank north where we live. The altitude..1200'. The massive V shaped craft we saw was under 1200' altitude!

As the huge V shaped craft proceeded south, it was almost in front of us, when my eyes followed the left wing to it's end. We live 1/2 mile south of Chandler Blvd. The end of the wing was well past that and at least half way to Ray Rd. (1 1/2 miles north!) I remember saying to my wife, "that son-of-a-bitch is a mile long! As it passed in front of us all we could see is the left wing. That's how low it was. At arm's length the object was at least 30"+ long. I reported it was app. 1 1/2 mile west of us, going down Alma School Rd. But the closest part of the huge V, the end of the left wing was much closer. Maybe within a 1/2 mile. One thing that I remember the most is how this craft "floated" app. 30-40 mph. There was no visual means of propulsion and absolutely no noise. The altitude and speed of the craft never changed.

On March 13, 1997, at app.8:31 pm MST., there was a bright bottom quarter moon setting in the western horizon. I said to the wife, "we're gonna get more detail, look, it's going right into the light of the moon." But instead of greater detail of this huge V shaped craft, what we saw still amazes us. As the front of the V shaped craft entered the light of the moon, this black chevron shaped object became translucent in bright light! We could still see the bottom quarter moon thru the object, but instead of bright white, it (moon) was a dingy yellow. As the V shaped craft exited the bright moon, it became a solid black object again. We watched as the entire craft passed thru this. Seeing a solid object going into and coming out of, was black. But as the craft passed between us and the bright, white moon, it was translucent.

(Something about bright objects...witnesses who had this pass over their heads claim that as the craft passed between bright stars, it was like looking thru...water)

By the time the end (left wing still) was passing thru the light of the moon, the front of the craft was disappearing into the night sky to our south. It never changed course, speed, or altitude. Just faded off into the night sky to the south of us.

During the whole sighting we never moved our feet. We never considered getting a camera. We never thought of yelling for a neighbor. There was no question in our minds that what we saw was not of this Earth. Our total sighting was app. 1 minute and 45 seconds.
