Fireball Lights Up Great Falls | VIDEO

Something in the sky caught the eye of some Great Falls residents on Monday night. The incident happened at about 11:10 p.m. on Monday.

The American Meteor Society says that it received 99 reports about a "fireball" seen over parts of Montana, Idaho, Washington, and in Alberta and British Columbia.

There have not been any reports of damage or injuries.

    LUMBY – When it comes to people reporting UFOs, the North Okanagan seems to be a hotspot. The latest example comes from Lumby where mysterious lights were captured on a cell phone camera.

Debbie Gelter says she saw a light or lights from her home in Lumby on three different evenings.

“You get that feeling in your stomach when you see something that is strange and you know you gotta tell somebody,” says Gelter.

She says on the third occasion she saw two lights and called her son to take a video on his phone.

“It started moving slowly and it shot backwards. I don’t know what else to say. It was just the weirdest thing I ever saw.” . . .

      A video shot outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, during a forest fire unexpectedly captured a lot more than firefighting efforts.

On July 17, 2014, Castanet.net, a news organization in Western Canada, posted a video shot in West Kelowna -- northeast of Vancouver -- featuring efforts to stop the Smith Creek Wildfire.

Here's the original Castanet.net video report, showing the UFO at approximately 26 seconds:

"In the news piece, a bright object appears from behind clouds above the fire area quickly moving left to right," according to Castanet.net. The news site revealed the following description from a witness who noticed the unusual aerial object in the video:

Shot out from the clouds above the mountain during a forest fire near our neighborhood. It pulled a wisp of cloud with it as it exited.

A forest fire broke out on the mountain behind us and during the attempt to put it out, this event took place.

I was watching a video online of the fire from a little earlier in the day and I spotted the UFO 37 seconds in. I have no idea whether anyone else has noticed this or not. Most folks would be focused on the fire.

37 seconds into the video the UFO comes shooting out from a cloud right above the mountain and passes through a clear spot back into the next cloud. I was quite startled and surprised when I saw it.

The UFO left a thin trail of cloud vapor as it exited the cloud. This, to me, eliminates any thought that this might be a camera lens artifact or light phenomenon effect.

The event lasted only a few seconds. Judging by the distance I was from the object it had to have been moving very fast. The scene cuts away while the UFO is still visible. I'm left to assume that there must be more footage of it than I saw.

I phoned the website's news department to ask if it would be possible to see the full footage, but was met with disapproval. In retrospect, perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned the word UFO.

“As we crested this hill I noticed an object out of the corner of my eye,” the witness stated. “And as I looked to the west I saw this object – soft yellow – moving toward us. We stood there for about two minutes as it slowly moved toward us – arguing as to what it might be.”

      A Canadian witness at Abbotsford, British Columbia, recalled a frightening experience with a silent, egg-shaped object that hovered nearby for three minutes before moving away at “warp drive,” according to June 6, 2014, testimony in Case 56883 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The events occurred in May 1975 as the reporting witness and a friend were walking home as they reached the crest of a hill facing north at the Sumas Mt. Road and Dawson Road intersection.

. . . The two quickly ruled out an airplane as it was moving too slow or a helicopter because it was not making any sound.

Well it keeps coming closer. Now keep in mind on Sumas Mountain at night if a neighbor dropped a tire iron the whole mountain top would hear it. This hill before the four corners is like a knoll where you could see back and then clearly to the west, north and clearly to the east.”

Then the object stopped directly in front of them and the two froze.

“I could hear my heart pounding in my chest. The vessel hovered for around three minutes. Then it starts to leave slowly at first. Then it went into like a warp drive. As it rose up the eastern mountain side it maintained the level of a plane. It seemed like it used the side of the mountain as a launch ramp.”

The witness described the object.

“It was egg-shaped but with a substantially flattened bottom – no visible ports or windows – no sound – not a wisp – no visible exhaust. Also it was the size of a small house – 30 to 50 feet in diameter.”

The object left a trail as it moved away. . . .

      VANCOUVER -- On Saturday morning around 10 a.m., Vancouver resident and amateur photographer Anthony Ellis snapped a photo of the North Shore Mountain. It wasn’t until he got home and viewed the digital photo on his computer that he saw the speck hovering over the mountain.

“I was quite surprised,” said Ellis, who believes the object is a UFO.

Ellis says he didn’t alter the photograph in any way, and the black speck does not appear on other photos taken the same day.

According to the 2012 annual Canadian UFO survey, 1981 Canadians reported sightings, a jump of nearly 100 per cent over previous years. Of those, only 7.5 per cent were evaluated as unexplained. Ontario residents log the most UFO sightings annually, with B.C. ranking second with 20 per cent of the sightings. . . .

     We were sitting on the beach off Dallas Road, in Victoria B.C, (Vancouver Island), when across the water I noticed some bright lights hovering above the ocean. It was odd to see such a bright, large object in the middle of the afternoon, on a beautiful sunny day.

The object appeared to be somewhat cylindrical,but with 3 almost separate,glowing parts. Shortly after I started taking photos, I noticed that 2 black helicopters had now appeared as well, and seemed to be flying around the object; one of the bright spots, on the right side appeared to get larger, as if it was turning with the arrival of the helicopters.

I continued to take several photos, eventually the object seemed to just evaporate in the distance. There was no significant movement of the object, it seemed to just hover above the ocean.

Upon further investigation of my photos, it would appear that there was a significant heat source emitting from the object, as when I zoomed in (on my computer), it was obvious that the color of the pixels changed from the center outward, becoming almost a pale green around the edge.

     Good evening...

The following 'incident' occured about 7:30 AM in May 1953...It was sunny and clear and the location was the foot of Pipeline Road in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada.

Please note that we were not close enough to observe any shape because the object was an estimated mile or so away outlined against a mountain...But it's behavior was certainly not from that time, unless you consider the 'top-secret' excuse the governments at the time used...

There were 3 of us - myself, John XXXXXX, my friend, Ron XXXXXX, and the school bus driver whose name I have forgotten...We were outside the school bus waiting for a student who was late...

While enjoying the sunshine a bright reflection caught my eye - it was against the mountain background and at the time it was stationary...It suddenly moved horizontally very quickly and then came to a stop...I then brought this to the attention of the other two who proceeded to watch with me...Once again it moved very quickly horizontally and again came to a stop...I would estimate the movements at about half a mile each time but, of course, I could be wrong...While all 3 of us were watching it made two more rapid horizontal movements, and then into a short vertical climb and then another horizontal movement...Please note that all of these movements were very rapid and the stops were immediate...

After about a minute it suddenly it went into a vertical climb at an extremely fast rate of speed until it was out of sight...I would estimate the elapsed time of the 'incident' to be about 5 - 10 minutes...If it was 'observing' something I have no idea what it could be because the area was all farmland at the time...

When we arrived at XXXX XXXXX High School my friend kept his mouth shut but I, unfortunately, proceeded to tell everybody what had happened and that we had probably seen a UFO...I never heard the end of it until I graduated in 1954...

Not much, but glad I could finally relate it to someone with credibility...

FYI I got the name of Sam Maranto from a recent interview one of our local TV stations had with Dan Ackroyd, who, as you know, is a firm believer in UFOs, as I have been for 55 years...I am now 71 and am rekindling my interest - that is why I sent this email...
