Air Force Urges Top Scientists To Scan Saucers (UFOs)

The Air Force called in top scientists to find out what "Flying Saucers" really are today as mysterious objects again swooped over the capital.

A scientific organization has asked the public to be on the lookout for "unidentified Flying Objects" apparently piloted by "intelligent beings" entering earth’s atmosphere.

Rear Admiral Delmer Fahrney (Ret.) urged the public to send reports on Unidentified Flying Objects to a new organization known as the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomenon. Fahrney is chairman of the group.

He said yesterday the objects move at speeds which cannot be duplicated by the United States and Russia.

A national guard fighter pilot Saturday told a story of a 30-minute encounter with a mysterious flying object over this city in the darkness–and his account was supported by two control tower operators and another flier.

Saucer Speaks

A Wellington farmer said today that he spoke to a flying saucer last night. The man, Carroll Watts, said he was returning home from his father`s residence about a mile north of his home at about 10:30 Friday night when he saw a light from about where an abandoned house stands.

He turned off the dirt road and headed toward the light. He said he drove to within about 20 feet of an object which “appeared to be about 100 feet long and eight or ten feet high.”

Ham Radio Report of Flying Saucer Crash in Hawaii – UFO CHRONICLE 1950

A tale of a "Flying Saucer" [UFO] that crashed into the side of a cliff on one of the Hawaiian islands was relayed to St. Louis area radio "hams" yesterday by the operator of station KH6LZ, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Henry Cisrun, 890 Riverview Blvd., quoted the sender as saying the saucer, about 15 feet high and 30 feet in diameter had five steps "like an elephant hunter’s hat," and had six holes on each side, giving it the appearance of a musical top.

The saucer was said to have been half buried in the cliff side and a nearby resident, reportedly heard someone scurrying from the crash scene.
