Washington’s Secretive “Project Preserve Destiny”: A New Frontier in UFO Disclosure or Political Strategy?

Washington’s Secretive “Project Preserve Destiny”: A New Frontier in UFO Disclosure or Political Strategy? - www.theufochronicles.com

The recent revelations surrounding a classified initiative known as "Project Preserve Destiny" have once again thrust the enigmatic topic of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) into the spotlight of U.S. political and military discourse. According to
By The UFO Chronicles

insider reports covered by L’Espresso, this project represents a profound shift in how ultra-sensitive UFO-related data, previously managed by the Department of Defense (DoD), is now being funneled directly under the control of the White House.

This reorganization entails a multi-tiered security framework with six distinct classification levels , designed to tightly control access and dissemination of information pertaining not only to observed aerial phenomena but also to associated technologies that may have far-reaching implications—technologies that raise questions about their terrestrial or possibly non-terrestrial origin.

The strategic transfer of authority to the Oval Office signals a deliberate attempt by the current administration, led by Donald Trump, to monopolize the narrative surrounding UFO disclosures. Amid an increasingly curious and restless public, alongside mounting Congressional interest, this effort appears partly aimed at positioning Trump as the bold leader willing to confront decades of secrecy and bring “truth” to light.

However, such centralization of classified information also triggers tension within military ranks, where concerns over potential leaks and the politicization of intelligence have been voiced. The project’s classification ranges from supposedly “public” briefings that some insiders dismiss as mere storytelling, to highly compartmentalized layers accessible only to a select few—including some so restricted even the president might be excluded.

The overarching question remains whether "Project Preserve Destiny" will ultimately serve as a genuine step toward transparency or as a vehicle for political maneuvering amid an American landscape where reality, legend, and strategic communication continually intertwine.

In essence, the project underscores the continuing enigma of UAP phenomena in the U.S., reminding observers that for now, the line between disclosure and mystery remains as blurred as ever.

Last week, the Battle of Washington DC was just a hair-trigger away.

It was 8.27am on November 26 when air-defence computers picked up something unexpected.

It was an unidentified target. It was a “slow-moving blob” relentlessly flying towards the heart of the US capital.

Whatever it was, it wasn’t supposed to be doing that.

Military aircraft were scrambled in response.

Initial assessments indicated that the "blob" was an unauthorized aircraft entering restrictive airspace, leading to the brief lockdown.

The UFO Cover Up and Manipulation of The American Media

The UFO Cover Up and Manipulation of The American Media

The American media is a master at deception

...The manipulation of American media did not start with the UFO arrival. Its foundation was laid not by the Americans, but by the British who were masters in shaping public perceptions and opinions both locally and abroad, a skill which helped them to

run a global empire for more than 200 years. They used media manipulation to mislead Americans into entering World War one.

When UFOs arrived in the 1940s these well practiced techniques were used in UFO cover up. To know exactly how the American mainstream media operates and manipulates readers must see two extraordinary documentaries Fear and Favor in the Newsroom and Orwell Rolls in his Grave, available on YouTube and read The Missing Times by Terry Hanson.

The corporate-owned mainstream American media is a criminal enterprise whose hands are drenched with the blood of innocent people murdered in needless wars. Without their support and willing participation America could not have prosecuted Vietnam and Iraq wars. They act as force multipliers for war mongers. They take a lie sold by the CIA, NSA or the White House and multiply it a thousand times and project it into the minds of the American people brainwashing them, whose behaviour can best be exemplified by the Jim Carrey movie The Truman Show. Let’s look at the evidence. ...

U.S. Declassifies Highly Enriched Uranium Inventory

The White House announced last week that the U.S. inventory of highly enriched uranium (HEU) as of September 2013 has been declassified.

“The newly declassified information shows that, from 1996 to 2013, U.S. HEU inventories decreased from 740.7 metric tons to 585.6 metric tons. This reflects a reduction of over 20 percent,” according to a March 31 White House fact sheet.

"NBC Didn’t Take the Hillary Clinton UFO Bait..."

Some ideas about digging

By Billy Cox
De Void

NBC didn’t take the Hillary Clinton UFO bait during Sunday night’s primary debate, staged just a couple of weeks after the former Secretary of State vowed to “get to the bottom of” The Great Taboo. As per tradition, the mainstream media tossed a lot of confetti in the air over her UFO remarks before getting bored and wandering off. But in doing so, they forget – assuming they ever knew – about the formidable and unremitting curiosity of Clinton's campaign manager, John Podesta.

In 2002, the former Clinton White House chief of staff joined the ad hoc Coalition for Freedom of Information in a federal lawsuit against NASA for access to files related to the so-called Kecksburg incident of 1965. Although that initiative, spearheaded by independent investigative journalist Leslie Kean, produced no smoking gun, the effort shook loose hundreds of previously unreleased documents, revealed that many others had been destroyed or went missing, and forced the space agency to pay the plaintiff's legal fees.

We may never know what, if anything, Podesta attempted to accomplish on the UFO front during his time as senior adviser in the Obama White House. But he has a roadmap for how to attack the archives on multiple fronts. Or rather, he has access to a strategy promoted by a network of scholars, historians and researchers known as the Sign Historical Group (SHG).

In 2002, with decades invested in clawing through the brambles of federal acronyms stretching back to World War II, SHG says it sent a detailed proposal to Podesta about what to look for, and where. It updated that pitch online in 2014. For member Jan Aldrich, director of the even more specialized Project 1947, the logical – and perhaps only – way to understand the controversy is to toggle the FOIA time machine back to when the U.S. military actually left a paper trail in its efforts to comprehend the incomprehensible. Nearly 70 years later, he argues, the gatekeepers still aren't on top of this mess.

“The government may have better data,” says Aldrich in an email to De Void, “but they are still puzzled.” Want answers? Then forget about drilling into the gold mine using more recent cases. “If there is more definitive information in the government’s possession," he adds, "then I would think it would be [at] some high level government scientific lab or … in the compartmentalized stove pipes of special surveillance programs.”

The way SHG sees it, the “Holy Grail of Ufology” is 68 years old. It's a report whose title is so banal – “Estimate of the Situation,” or EOTS -- it sounds like it was written to be invisible. EOTS was the product of the USAF’s first official inquiry into the “flying disc” phenomenon. The brass called it Project Sign, the namesake of SHG. In 1948, Sign analysts from Wright-Patterson AFB’s Technical Intelligence Division sized up the problem and prepared a draft, or estimate, venturing that UFOs likely had “interplanetary” origins. USAF Chief of Staff Gen. Hoyt Vandenberg rejected their best guess and demanded another.

In a November ’48 come-to-Jesus showdown that would probably make a great David Mamet drama, members of the Sign team were assembled in Washington, D.C., and told what to write. Dissenters were reassigned.

“The Estimate died a quick death,” wrote USAF Capt. Edward Ruppelt, who directed the more widely known successor, Project Blue Book, in 1956. “Some months later it was completely declassified and relegated to the incinerator. A few copies, one of which I saw, were kept as mementos of the golden days of the UFOs." Remaining copies of EOTS have not been located.

But EOTS is just a small piece of the puzzle. SHG’s strategy, broken into categories and subcategories, runs 43 pages and offers numerous leads, most based on existing documents. If a picture paints a thousand words, the payoffs from references from one source alone -- a document called “History of Air Technical Intelligence Center 1 July 1952-31 December 1952” -- could be incalculable. According to that summary, ATIC’s mission was “to investigate and analyse [cq] reports of unidentified aerial objects or of phenomena of possible concern to the air defense of the US” and to “produce air technical and scientific intelligence studies and estimates of alien capabilities to conduct aerial warfare.”

To that end, states a “Technical Requirements Division” paper, “the installation of gun cameras in F-86’s assigned to the Fighter Squadron at Wright-Patterson Air Base was assured. The purpose of these installations is to provide suitable photographs during flights resulting from reports or sightings of unidentified flying objects.” Furthermore, "15 officer Air Attaches, 10 airmen, 27 ATLO’s [assembly test and launch operations personnel] and 37 investigators” received specialized training. They fanned out into three states “to investigate flying object reports. To date, 100 videon stereoscopic cameras, equipped with diffraction gratings over one lens, have been procured and received at ATIC.”

So what happened to the pix?

And SHG isn’t just poking around for military records – what is the CIA hanging onto? SHG takes aim at an “unremittingly pedestrian” narrative published in 1997 by Agency historian Gerald K. Haines. His CIA’s Role in the Study of UFOs, 1947-90 paper issued the absurd and unsubstantiated claim that more than half of all UFO reports in the late 1950s and 1960s could be explained by high-altitude spy planes.

“Following a lawsuit,” writes SHG, “the CIA released about 900 pages of UFO documents. However, this and later releases by the CIA does not represent the total material on the subject, which has been estimated to be at least 16,000 pages. Furthermore, there are documents held by the Navy, Air Force, FBI, Army and others, which give important insight into the CIA’s activities here. Most of these documents were apparently unknown to Haines, and some are little known to many in the UFO field. Also, Haines apparently is unaware of the huge amount of data in multiple copies, which went to the CIA from other agencies, further indicating the whole story has not been made available to the public.”

AFCRL, AMC, SAC, MERINT, CIRVIS, MATS -- the Sign Historical Group's list of data suspects goes on and on. So John Podesta's call for accountability isn't just some vague quirky "X-Files" exhortation. It's a demand for closing the gaps in official history. After all, we did pay for it, so we do own it. Check out SHG’s ideas for getting this stuff back, at http://www.project1947.com/shg/cfi/sfcfiproposal.htm. De Void came away from it with just one question: Why do we still allow the dead WWII crowd who made the original classification decisions to keep telling us what we can and can't handle? [...]

“…A Failure To Bring Transparency To America’s UFO Files”

“…A Failure To Bring Transparency To America’s UFO Files”

Twick or Tweet!

By Billy Cox
De Void
2-16-15

By now, everybody’s read John Podesta’s little Friday afternoon firecracker, where he took less than 140 characters to announce his biggest regret in leaving the Obama White house was a failure to bring transparency to America’s UFO files. Brevity being the soul of wit and all that, one naturally assumes there was a little sarcasm or self-deprecation at play here, despite the former Clinton White House chief of staff’s multiple (and correct) assertions that UFOs are actually pretty serious stuff. After all, if you look at his statements on UFOs over the years, they really don’t amount to much more than an anthology of sound bites. Consequently, the media responded with equal proportion, duly noting Podesta’s Tweet with minimal comment, the way one might take stock of any harmless celebrity idiosyncrasy, like Jay Leno's fleet cars or XYZ's Coconut Monkeys of Polynesia collection.

One might even be tempted to give Podesta props for putting it out there again, considering how he wasn't obliged to say anything at all. But after reading Sunday’s New York Times profile, Friday’s Twitter breadcrumbs come off as quite puzzling. Associates describe Podesta as a competitive, workaholic straight-shooter who enjoys a good scrap. “He’s not afraid to use power, and ruthlessly if necessary,” said veteran Dem operative Paul Begalia. “I think he’s as good a political guy as I’ve ever seen.”

Great. So that begs the question: What, exactly, specifically, if anything, did Podesta do over the last two years to warrant that surprise Tweet last weekend? Can’t blame the media for being so spare on this one — he gave us nothing to work with, no hint that he’d used that famous competitive streak to butt heads with whatever behind-the-scenes UFO classification obstacles he might have encountered. Assuming he made an effort. So what gives?

Now, juxtapose Podesta’s little nugget against what passed for news (again) last week at the convention of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in San Jose, Calif. The SETI people were at it again, weighing the risks of sending formal collaborative radio messages to their theoretical kindred spirits in radio astronomy in distant worlds. Godawmighty, how many times must we endure this trifling academic hand-wringing over the perils of provoking some ET Pizarro or Cortez from Planet Zyrtek? Our radio signals have been alerting The Other to our presence for almost a century now, yet suddenly we're seeing luminaries like billionaire Elon Musk and planet detective Geoff Marcy circulating petitions calling for a ban on sending messages into space? Really? Check this out -- astrophysicist David Brin actually said this to the Associated Press: “I can’t bring myself to wager my grandchildren’s destiny on unreliable assumptions” about contacting nice space aliens.

Oh for cryin' out loud. Wouldn’t you think, given this level of obstreperous angst, and with the potential for ET enemies (5,000 extrasolar planets either logged or awaiting confirmation) increasing by the month, it would be totally irresponsible for these guardians of the realm not to exhaust each and every line of scientific inquiry on the gathering threat? Well, um, no. Here’s the key sentence in the AP report from San Jose: “... what scientists are talking about is a coordinated and sustained million-dollar-a-year effort with approval from some kind of science or international body and a message that people agree on" [emphasis: De Void]. Naah, UFOs don’t rate that kind of funding, man. At least not unless somebody of, say, John Podesta’s heft steps up, quits flirting around the elephant in the room, and makes the case. But that’s not likely, given his apparent commitment to Hillary’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Until that day comes, looks like we’re doomed to endure endless SETI seminars on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

At least we got a Tweet. And we're grateful for that.

One Tweet that slipped under the radar last week may turn out to be vastly more important than anything else seemingly rocking our world — from the growing threat of ISIS to the fading star of Brian Williams or even the cultural shock effect of the 50 Shades of Grey movie. When all those were making news headlines, this Tweet came from outgoing senior Obama adviser John Podesta. Here it is:

f you'll visit @Podesta44 on Twitter, you'll see that John Podesta put this on a list with his favorite moments and biggest regrets from his White House stint over the past year that ended for him on Friday.

That's right — on Podesta's Top Ten list — the number one position goes to "Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the UFO files." . . .

Biggest Failure’ Was Not Securing The Disclosure of UFO Files

Outgoing Obama counselor John Podesta remains a devoted fan of things extraterrestrial. When Podesta, who was President Bill Clinton’s chief of staff, returned to White House duty in late 2013, we wrote that his arrival meant “the Obama presidential library will be inundated — just as the Clinton library in Little Rock has been — with Freedom of Information Act requests, such as this one: for ‘e-mails to and from John Podesta, containing the words either, X-Files or Area 51.’”

Podesta was a major fan of the “X-Files” television show. Our colleague Karen Tumulty asked him in 2007 about the FOIA jam at the library, and Podesta, through a spokesman, replied: “The truth is out there.” That’s the show’s tag line.

And, just to make sure the FOIA requesters don’t forget, Podesta tweeted Thursday:

John Podesta’s biggest regret on leaving the White House is not proving Fox Mulder right.

“My biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the UFO files,” he tweeted on Friday, his final day as counselor to President Obama.

He added the hashtag “#thetruthisoutthere,” in a reference to the long-running television show “The X-Files.”

Podesta is leaving the White House on Friday after one year helping to oversee climate change and energy policy, among other issues, and is seen as a likely choice to lead Hillary Clinton’s expected presidential campaign. He formerly worked as chief of staff to President Bill Clinton before starting the liberal Center for American Progress think tank. . . .

"What, Realistically, Do You Hope To Accomplish?" | WHITE HOUSE UFO PETITION

Road without end

By Billy Cox

Talk about snakebit. The very day UFO activist Steve Bassett launches his latest petition to enlist White House support for UFO hearings on The Hill — boom — religious degenerates in France monopolize the headlines by slaughtering irreverent free thinkers. Not to suggest in any way that Bassett’s designs on dragging The Great Taboo into the sunlight was in any danger of getting MSM attention in the first place; after all, this is his seventh pass at it. Still. Given the patterns, it kinda makes you wonder about the mysterious ways in which the universe rewards this species of tenacity.

Let's go back a dozen years or so. As founder of the nation's only registered lobby dedicated to wresting the "UFO truth embargo" from government shadows, Bassett decides to run as an independent in Maryland’s 8th Congressional District. If elected, the director of the Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee will raise hell under the Dome to declassify federal UFO secrets. But in October, with the 2002 campaign rounding the home stretch, a couple of psycho car-trunk snipers turn the D.C. 'burbs into a shooting gallery. Voters are thinking more about exit routes and body armor than ET. Bassett gets maybe one percent of the vote.

In the ensuing years, he will hit if from other angles. At the beginning of the Obama administration, for instance, he urged kindred spirits to swamp the White House press corps with letters, emails, phone calls, etc., urging them to ask the new regime pointed UFO questions. He called that one the Million Fax on Washington.

He also staged a series of Washington-area "X-Conference" seminars in hopes of exposing the Beltway media to a range of perspectives on The Great Taboo. In 2007, Washington Post political columnist Dana Milbank shows up. Amid such a target-rich environment, Milbank naturally takes the freak-show angle, and furnishes an opening quote from a crackpot who says, "The truth amnesty project is reportedly recommended by the participating extraterrestrials themselves." The media momentum never materializes; financial woes follow. Yet, in 2013, thanks to a million-dollar wad dropped on the thing by Canadian philanthropist Tom Clearwater, Bassett rolls his biggest wager to date. He stages what he calls the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure. He pays half a dozen retired congresspersons, including a former senator, $20k apiece to preside over a week-long series of testimonials from UFO witnesses of wildly divergent pedigree and persuasions. It will be conducted with the formality of real hearings. Afterwards, Bassett will produce and forward DVDs to every member of Congress.

“We’ll create so much public interest, a lot of the editors are gonna say, Christ almighty, enough is enough, that’s it, let’s get some answers from these guys,” Bassett says before the big show at the National Press Club in Washington. “And if they ask the right questions, I predict the truth embargo will be over within 60 days."

Dot dot dot ...

But wait -- just before that, in 2011, in a hideously tantalizing twist of fate, the White House announces it will officially address whatever grievance Joe Sixpack wants to bring to its attention. Seriously. Team Obama made the initiative sound populist by calling it We The People. And all Joe Sixpack's gotta do is convince 5,000 people to sign an online We The People petition. Five thousand names -- that's nothing.

Almost immediately, the geniuses who dreamed up that paltry threshold know they’ve screwed up when an avalanche of gripes, from the profound to the egregiously insipid, begin clogging the pipes. Within weeks, the We The People architects decide to raise the bar to 25,000 signatures. Still, it's too late to thwart Bassett’s demand that the administration “formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race and immediately release into the public domain all files from all agencies and military services relevant to this phenomenon.” The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy responds with rote blurbs on SETI and Kepler and Mars Curiosity Rover, along with this:

“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye.”

Six more We The People petitions will follow — e.g., please investigate UFO intrusions over U.S. nuclear missile fields, make official public inquiries into President Clinton’s murky intrigues with the so-called Rockefeller Initiative, etc. But none of those appeals will come close to reaching the 25,000 signature mark. And by 2013, after having to respond to a non-Bassett petition requesting America to build a Death Star as a jobs-creation stimulus, We The People has pretty much had it with Those People and raises the trigger response to 100,000 names. Which means Bassett, in this latest round, will need to gather more than 3,000 names a day by Feb. 6 to provoke the White House into to weighing in on his request for support of congressional UFO hearings. Should the sun rise in the west and he actually reaches six figures, here's De Void's crystal ball on We The People's response: “The executive branch does not set the legislative agenda, but we take your concerns seriously. Therefore, we have forwarded your request to the Hon. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the Hon. Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) for their thoughtful consideration.”

And finally, there’s this: After three notifications from the Federal Elections Commission that his Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee is five months derelict in reporting receipts and disbursements, Bassett now describes his one-man lobby as “in suspension.” And yet. When asked by De Void, "What, realistically, do you hope to accomplish?", Bassett's succinct email reply is stalwart: "Disclosure."

This story has a moral to it. Somewhere. It just has to.

Politician's Priorities

Politician's Priorities

By Dennis Balthaser

I really do not enjoy writing or talking about political concerns I have, but am becoming more concerned that the only objective our leaders in Washington have are interests that benefit themselves. I won’t lay blame on any individual party either, as I feel they all fall into the same trap once they get to Washington.

Over the past 65 years much has been written and reported in reference to the UFO situation world wide, while our leaders have for the most part ignored it, or have shown no interest in looking in to it, so the public might at least know truthfully what all these reports are about.

Nearly every President since Truman has indicated they would investigate the reports and have not succeeded in doing so. I think I do understand that since the President is a “temporary employee”, serving a maximum of 8 years as President, he most likely doesn’t have the security clearance, or “need to know” to follow through on his desire to obtain the information. In my opinion the President can’t be trusted with such information. Nearly all have tried while in office to no avail, which I’ll explain later.

Many of those that are in Congress are active on various committees that could easily look into the UFO situation, but have not done so to any satisfactory degree. Excuses for not doing so are evident in some of the reports I have read. This is not a matter of serving only their constituents they represent from each state, but a national concern that should be looked at by many or all of those that are elected to serve the people they represent. The Constitution states plainly in it’s opening statement, “We the People”, and for me that’s been lost by those we elect to represent us in Washington.

When legislation needs to be passed prior to being read by those voting on it, as Nancy Pelosi recently alluded to regarding passage of the “Obama Care bill,” we have a major problem with those we elected to represent us. I suppose I shouldn’t expect them to take UFO reports under consideration, based on their current records, of not being able to agree on any legislation that currently affects all of us.

Two Presidents, Reagan and Carter reported sightings of UFOs prior to becoming presidents, while governors of their states in California and Georgia. Reagan even addressed the UFO topic at the United Nations in a speech given there in 1987 while President. President Clinton had an interest in UFOs and asked an aide to look into the topic, who reported back to the President that he could not find any information. I’ve heard rumors about Eisenhower having some involvement with extraterrestrials, but have never seen any confirmation on that. George Bush, Senior was head of the CIA prior to becoming president, and may well have been the only president with any prior knowledge of UFOs, although he has never publicly mentioned anything, that I’m aware of.

Barry Goldwater was a United States Senator from Arizona who ran for President in the 1960’s and lost to Lyndon Johnson in the 1964 Presidential election. He was also a member of the Senate Intelligence committee, and promoted to Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve. His interest in the possibility of extraterrestrial beings visiting earth has been recorded several times in interviews he did, particularly during an interview with Larry King on CNN in 1988. He had asked General Curtis LeMay about going in to the Blue Room at Hangar 18 at Wright Field in Dayton Ohio, and was told by General LeMay “to go to Hell”, and “don’t ever ask me that question again.”

In 1995, New Mexico Congressman Steven Schiff requested an investigation into the Roswell Incident through the General Accounting Office. The report he received back after the GAO had interviewed several agencies in Washington stated that the documents related to Roswell were “missing” and destroyed without proper authority. Those were permanent records that should have never been destroyed. The GAO further stated they could not identify who destroyed the messages, or why. Those messages would have involved the 509th Bomb Group, (the only atomic bomb group in the world in 1947), who ended the war with Japan 2 years earlier. This, of course, raises the question of accountability among our leaders in Washington then and now.

Many times when I submit a Freedom of Information Request Form for military records to the National Personnel Records Center in St Louis, Missouri, I will get a response in a form letter stating those records may have been destroyed in a fire at the center July 12, 1973.

Since the Roswell Incident occurred in 1947 there have been a few congressional hearings on the subject of UFOs, with no substantial information coming forward from those hearings to resolve the question. Meetings have been held at the United Nations, again, with no results. Astronauts, law enforcement officers, airline pilots and such have brought up the subject of UFOs existing, again, with no follow up by any legislators or people in the know.

The Phoenix lights, Stephenville Texas near President Bush’s ranch, the O’Hara airport incident and many others have all been reported by credible individuals, but no one follows through on these well documented occurrences. Lame, unsatisfactory excuses are sometimes given by those in authority to pacify the public, and then the incident is filed away, never to be mentioned again, such as was the case with the Condon Report, Blue Book, the Roswell Reports and several other reports made public over the years.

Many of us believe the 4 excuses given for Roswell during the past 60 some years do not satisfactorily explain what happened on the ranch near Roswell. For me that raises the question of who in our government is willing to admit that they have been lying to us for all those years? I don’t see that happening, and would open the question to a lot of other things our Government and certain military leaders have been covering up, and still do today, if you watch the national news almost on a daily basis. Cover up has become a way of life and doing business by our leaders in Washington and at some local levels, and it appears that “we the people” are accepting that. At my age, the concern I have for our younger generation is that although there is information we probably don’t need to know for our nation’s security, lying to us about many of these cases is not what our elected officials are elected to do in representing us.
