Pressuring the Government to Disclose Extraterrestrial Activity
Based in the nation’s capitol, Stephen Bassett is a lobbyist working tirelessly for a single, unusual cause: confronting the US Government on the existence of extraterrestrials and their presence here on Earth.
As a political activist and executive director of the Paradigm Research Group (PRG), Basset aims to end the 68-year embargo of classified information relating to alien activity while pressuring President Obama and the Executive Branch to disclose these findings to the public.
Following the statements made to me by Apollo 14 Astronaut Edgar Mitchell on government cover ups and claims of nuclear weapons tampering by extraterrestrials, I was contacted by an associate of Stephen Bassett who expressed gratitude on his behalf for covering those stories.
Seeing an opportunity to dig deeper into these claims, I decided to interview this unique D.C. lobbyist about his beliefs and mission.
Why did you decide to take up this fight and how did you get started?
I made an intellectual decision to engage the extraterrestrial phenomenon field in the winter of 1995 because I believed I could make a difference. My journey began in January of 1996 as a volunteer for the Program for Extraordinary Experience Research founded by Dr. John E. Mack in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While in Cambridge it became clear to me that the extraterrestrial issue could only be resolved by political means. [...]

A Truth Embargo? Researchers Discuss Academic and Scientific Proof of Flying Object Sightings | UFO NEWS
WASHINGTON, DC (FinalCall.com) - In the realm of unusual revelations, Jason Collins can admit that he’s gay and receive support from around the country. “One of the striking things about UFOs is the discrepancy between the astonishing sightings on the one hand and the lack of responsible treatment of it by major media. Our academic and scientific institutions and our political system,” testified Researcher Richard Dolan May 3, before the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race (CHD) at the National Press Club April 29-May 3.
“This (is) a shame because there is very good research being done every day. Many of those researchers have been here this week. Others are out there, too, such as the National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena (NARCAP), which collects and analyzes encounters that the aviation industry has with unknown objects.”
He added, “None of them get any love from the America’s dumdum media, which prefers to lump the whole subject into a big tin foil hate and instead write about the escapades of Kim Kardashian.”
Testimony at the hearing included forty researchers and military/agency witnesses before former members of Congress including Congressmen Roscoe Bartlett, Merrill Cook and Congresswomen Lynn Wolsey, and Darlene Hooley. The CHD attempted to accomplish what they felt Congress has failed to do for forty-five years—seek out the facts surrounding the most important issue of this or any other time. . . .

WASHINGTON—After five days and 40 testimonies from international witnesses from the military, scientific and academic fields, a committee of six former Congress members agreed to seek international support to break a “truth embargo” on encounters with extraterrestrial life.
On May 3, the last day of the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, (CHD) organizer Stephen Bassett read the contents of a communiqué signed by four of the six retired Congress members.
According to it, the Citizen Hearing Foundation will pursue a global campaign to form a world conference dedicated to discovering the truth behind “overwhelming scientific evidence” that suggests a link between sightings of unexplained craft and extraterrestrial intelligence.
“Given the enormous global implications, if these craft are indeed of extraterrestrial origins, such an issue is a matter for the General Assembly for the United Nations,” Bassett read.
The hearing, funded by Canadian philanthropist Thomas Clearwater, is to be made into a documentary by Just Cause Entertainment and titled “Truth Embargo.”
What is The Truth About UFOs?
Week long hearings on government secrecy, so-called UFOs yield powerful testimony and a simple question: Why hide info about things that don’t exist?
WASHINGTON (National Press Club) - Having the prestigious home for Americas media in the Nation’s Capitol host its conference, complete with former lawmakers, was a clear attempt by the host Paradigm Research Group and conference organizer Stephen Bassett to curb ridicule and keep focus on government secrecy and its belief that so-called UFOs are known—despite government lies and skeptics.
The Citizen Hearing On Disclosure, held here April 29 to May 3, included a former Canadian defense minister, a former astronaut, the former top Federal Aviation Administration official, a onetime Ministry of Defense official in the United Kingdom, Air Force veterans, other U.S. servicemen, and domestic and foreign pilots, scientists, researchers, authors, writers, filmmakers, and witnesses from America, England, China, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Chile and South American countries spoke.
Modeled after congressional hearings, witnesses delivered 30 hours of testimony covering a wide range of thought and concern about so-called UFOs and whether the crafts were of this world or from elsewhere. Opinions were strong on all ends—some simply wanted an explanation or investigation of things unexplained—others spoke of animal mutilations, alien crash landings and creatures from other planets under U.S. government control.
The point of agreement was the U.S. government and other governments need to share what is known about sightings and crafts and the U.S. Congress should hold hearings on a subject of interest to millions of Americans—whether their concerns are the origin of the crafts or an ever-increasing tendency to classify and deny public access to information. . . .
