     Really, X-Files? You're going to end the new miniseries revival like that? Because that ending is less on the intriguing "nothing gets answered on The X-Files" side, and more on the infuriating "set fire to everything you love" side.

The ending to the season finale, My Struggle II, had Scully rushing to bring the antidote to a bioweapon back to the hospital until she suddenly gets stopped by a beam of light coming from an alien ship above her. The camera zooms in on her terrified eyes looking to the sky, and we cut to black.

For a series that has no guarantee of a next season, you can at least guarantee the Internet went insane over that ending. [...]

Ahead of “The X-Files” event series premiere on Sunday, Fox has set up a UFO crash landing at the popular shopping complex.

“We wanted to do something big, bold, special and fun for these loyal fans to mark the return of ‘The X-Files,'” Fox TV group marketing and communications executive vice president Shannon Ryan told TheWrap. “And we thought. what better way to celebrate the return of this incredible show than to crash a UFO into the center of Los Angeles?” [...]

A mysterious man told Chris Carter that his
conspiracy-themed TV classic was too close to the truth.

      Alien conspiracies, monsters, cryptids, mutants, paranormal phenomena -- just a typical day for the fictional FBI agents of "The X-Files."

But how close to fiction was it?

Creator, writer and director Chris Carter tells a real-life tale about the show in its early days that's worthy of the show's catchphrase, "The truth is out there."

"I had someone come up to me during the original run of the series, who said they worked in some high place in a secret government agency, [and] said that we were very close to the truth," Carter told The Huffington Post.

"I didn't know whether to take that person at their word or not. I can tell you this: When I wrote the [1993] pilot, I called the FBI to do some research, and they were nice enough, but didn't really give me the time of day.

"Then, all of a sudden, as we got close to airing, the FBI called and said, 'Who are you and what are you doing?' And for a second, I thought it was going to be the long arm of the law coming in to shut me down." [...]

THE X-FILES have just dropped the biggest glimpse into the reunion of Mulder and Scully yet.

    In a 15-second trailer unveiled by Fox, the clip teases UFOs, Scully in a state of permanent catatonia, and the first-look at sci-fi's most cherished duo smoothly fitting in to the current golden age of TV like they never went away.

During last night's episode of Chad Hodge's Wayward Pines, Fox revealed the first real trailer for the show's long-awaited revival, which looks set to be a typically unnerving affair.

Both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles as special FBI agents Mulder and Scully, over seven years after the release of the last X-Files big screen installment I Want To Believe. . . .

X-Files Filming at 'UFO Crash Site'

     Gareth Smart, a part-time acting coach in Cache Creek, provided a big treat — and potential spoiler — to X-Files fans around the world on Wednesday when he shared photos of an alien crash site on Facebook.

While a Vancouver crew for the upcoming X-Files miniseries has been busy shooting street scenes involving actors David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully), another crew has apparently been shooting night scenes in Ashcroft, an hour west of Kamloops.

The set features a flying saucer embedded in the ground. Ashcroft, with its semi-desert terrain, may be standing in for Roswell, New Mexico . . ..

He might have found fame playing Special Agent Fox Mulder - serious believer in the supernatural - but the actor himself just isn't convinced...
     FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder was known for his unshakable belief in the supernatural and the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life.

The character's obsession with unexplainable phenomena was what drove him through the series. It's the reason he was working on the X-Files to begin with. And he was even abducted by aliens himself in the season seven finale.

But David Duchovny, the actor who played him for 9 years, still remains unconvinced about the possibility of alien life.

"When you started making X-Files and there was all that zeitgeist happening, how much UFO research did you find to be actually interesting enough to believe in?" Reggie Watts asked Duchovny recently on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

"I remember I used to try to answer my fan mail because there wasn't much of it, and they would bring it to me. There were stories that people would tell me about being abducted," revealed Duchovny. "They would just make me sad. I thought that these people had issues that they had to deal with." . . .
