Nuclear Theory On Forest UFO Claims (2011)

Nuclear Theory On Forest UFO Claims - www.theufochronicles.com

"... there is evidence to suggest laser-like beams were seen above nuclear storage facilities at Bentwaters."

THE notorious sighting of UFOs in a Suffolk forest could be linked to the presence of nuclear weapons, it was claimed last night.

personnel at the twin bases of RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge near Rendlesham Forest.

The event – which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary – has never been explained and attracts a variety of different theories.

Expert Robert Hastings, author of UFOs and Nukes, believes the mysterious events had a nuclear weapons connection.

He has spoken to a number of eye witnesses – including base commander Colonel Charles Halt – and said there is evidence to suggest laser-like beams were seen above nuclear storage facilities at Bentwaters.

Mr. Hastings, who recently lectured at Oxford University on the connection between UFOs and nuclear weapons said: "One of the UFOs hovered over the nuclear Weapons Storage Area (WSA) and directed laser-like beams of light down onto or near it."

"At that time, the WSA held the largrest stockpile of tacticval nuclear bombs – also known as battlefield nukes – in Western Europe."

"The incident at Bentwaters was hardly unique. Significantly, UFO incursions at WSAs at other USAF bases occurred in the years both preceding and following the incident at Bentwaters."

Mr. Hastings said other sightings were recorded above WSA's at Michigan and Montana in 1975, New Mexico in 1980 and in the former Soviet Union in 1989.

He believes the UFOs targeted these areas because their occupants were monitoring the nuclear arms race.

"I am speculating but it appears that whatever their overall agenda may be, part of what they are up to is monitoring the nuclear arms race," he said. "I have interviewed over 120 former military personnel in the US – three quarters of them are of the opinion that these things are attemting to wag a finger at us. Admonishing us. Telling us that we are playing with fire."

To mark the 30th anniversary of the incident the East Anglian Daily Times has teamed up with BBC Radio Suffolk to try to explain the mystery in a continuing investigation called Rendlesham Rervelaed.

Alarming Correlation: Unexplained UFO Sightings Near Nuclear Weapons Sites, Facilities

Alarming Correlation: UFO Sightings and Nuclear Weapons, Technology - www.theufochronicles.com

An article at The Hill explores "interactions between UFOs and ultra-sensitive U.S. nuclear assets [that] date back nearly eight decades." The author, Marik von Rennenkampff, highlights several instances throughout history, here is a sampling below:
By The UFO Chronicles
4-27-24

• The Green Fireballs Phenomenon: Beginning in 1948 airline pilots began reporting sightings of "green fireballs." The subject of aerial phenomenon was classified secret, and the 4th Army approached Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, an American astronomer from the University of New Mexico and a pioneer in the study of meteors for assistance. In a secret meeting at Los Alamos in February of 1949, LaPaz stated for the record that, "Nothing like this to my knowledge, has ever been observed in the case of meteorite drops."

• UFO Incident at Kirtland Air Force Base 1957: "On Nov. 4, 1957, two control tower operators with more than 20 years of combined experience said they watched from a remarkably close range as an elongated wingless and engineless object descended slowly over the runway and hovered over the base’s nuclear weapons storage area."

• The Socorro Incident - 1964: On April 24, 1964 in Socorro, New Mexico, local police officer, Lonnie Zamora reported seeing "an egg-shaped flying object land" and he "saw two occupants who alighted after it landed ...." This incident was investigated by local authorities, the FBI, the Air Force and civilian UFO groups. To date the case remains unresolved.

As noted by Rennenkampff: "this extraordinary encounter took place in the vicinity of the Trinity Site, where the first nuclear weapon was detonated in July 1945."

• UFOs Over Nuke Missile Fields 1966/1967: "On August 25, 1966, an Air Force officer in charge of a missile crew in North Dakota [Minot AFB Missile Field] suddenly found that his radio transmission was being interrupted by static. At the time, he was sheltered in a concrete capsule 60 feet below the ground. While he was trying to clear up the problem, other Air Force personnel on the surface reported seeing a UFO- an unidentified flying object - high in the sky. It had a bright red light, and it appeared to be alternately climbing and descending. Simultaneously, a radar crew on the ground picked up the UFO at 100,000 feet.

When the UFO climbed, the static stopped," stated the report made by the base's director of operations. "The UFO began to swoop and dive. It then appeared to land ten to fifteen miles south of the area. Missile-site control sent a strike team [well-armed Air Force guards] to check. When the team was about ten miles from the landing site, static disrupted radio contact with them. Five to eight minutes later the glow diminished, and the UFO took off. Another UFO was visually sighted and confirmed by radar. The one that was first sighted passed beneath the second. Radar also confirmed this. The first made for altitude toward the north, and the second seemed to disappear with the glow of red. This incident, which was not picked up by the press, is typical of the puzzling cases ..."–J. Allen Hynek

"In March 1967, all ten of the 'Minuteman I' missiles [Malmstrom AFB] under my control were disabled while an oval shaped UFO hovered at close range over the front gate of my launch control center in Montana. I was sworn to secrecy about this incident until 1994 when the U.S. Air Force declassified a similar incident at the request of my investigator, Jim Klotz under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). At that time, I believed the declassified incident of ‘Echo Flight’ to be the one in which I was involved. As a result of receiving declassified documents from AF records about the Echo incident, I began to publicly disclose what I recalled."–Robert Salas

• The Rendlesham/Bentwaters UFO - 1980: "Early in the morning of 27 Dec 80 (approximately 0300l), two USAF security police patrolmen saw unusual lights outside the back gate at RAF Woodbridge. Thinking an aircraft might have crashed or been forced down, they called for permission to go outside the gate to investigate. The on duty flight chief responded and allowed three patrolmen to proceed on foot. The individuals reported seeing a strange glowing object in the forest. The object was described as being metallic in appearance and triangular in shape, approximately two to three meters across the base and approximately two meters high. It illuminated the entire forest with a white light. The object itself had a pulsing red light on top and a bank(s) of blue lights underneath, it maneuvered through the trees and disappeared. At this time the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy. The object was briefly sighted approximately an hour later near the back gate."–Charles Halt

Rendlesham UFO: Air Traffic Controllers Tracked an Otherworldly Craft

One of the most spectacular UFO cases of all time involved a series of incidents at two neighboring Anglo/American air bases in Suffolk, England, the last week of December 1980. The bases, RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge, were separated by a small forest. Consequently, the multiple UFO events which occurred there are collectively known as the Bentwaters-Woodbridge-Rendlesham Forest Case. However, for the sake of simplicity, I will refer to it in this article as “Bentwaters.”

With the exception of the alleged recovery of a crashed alien spaceship at Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, the intriguing events at Bentwaters have arguably received more media coverage in recent years than any other UFO incident. While most of the publicity has focused on reports of a landed UFO in Rendlesham Forest, an equally important aspect of the story has usually been downplayed: Another UFO was apparently observed two nights later as it hovered near the Bentwaters Weapons Storage Area (WSA), where tactical nuclear bombs were kept. According to a number of witnesses, the object directed laser-like beams of light down into the facility!

This dramatic incident has been discussed on occasion over the years, somewhat reluctantly, by RAF Bentwaters’ Deputy Base Commander at the time, now retired USAF Colonel Charles I. Halt. Although Halt himself observed the UFO sending down beams of light into various areas of the base, he was at the time some miles away in a field near Rendlesham Forest, and only heard two-way radio chatter about the incident at the WSA. Halt’s tape recorded comments may be read at:

Although debunkers have tried to explain away the numerous UFO sightings at the twin RAF bases as due to misidentified prosaic objects, including a nearby lighthouse, one of the UFOs at Bentwaters was actually tracked on radar, by two different military units—one American, the other British.

In 2007, I located and interviewed the two now-retired USAF air traffic controllers who had been on duty the week of the UFO events at Bentwaters, James H. Carey and Ivan “Ike” R. Barker.

Larry Warren was a security officer at Bentwaters Air Force Base in the United Kingdom. He was present during an event in 1980 when an extraterrestrial vehicle landed, hovered, and interacted with Air Force personnel on the base. Afterwards, the many personnel who had witnessed the events were intimidated, debriefed and forced to sign documents telling a false version of the story. Warren's testimony is corroborated by multiple other military witnesses who have been identified. . . .

England's Forests: Following the UFO Trail in Suffolk

In December 1980, US Air Force personnel at RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk claimed to have seen aliens in Rendlesham Forest. The Forestry Commission has now set up a trail for intrepid ufologists

If you want to look for something really unusual in the sky – day or night – a trip to Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk might just inspire you. This was the scene of "Britain's Roswell incident", a legendary UFO sighting – and possible landing – in December 1980.

A number of US Air Force personnel stationed at nearby RAF Woodbridge reported some very curious sightings over a two or three-day period. Alerted by mysterious lights in the forest, some servicemen claimed that they had seen – and even touched – an alien spacecraft.

The incident has sparked more correspondence with government officials than any other British UFO sighting – not to mention regular pilgrimages to the forest by avid amateur ufologists.

In honour of this, the Forestry Commission has created a three-mile UFO Trail that children of all ages can enjoy. . . .

USAF First Responders To UFO Event at RAF Bentwaters To Sue US Government

USAF first responders announce intent to file federal lawsuit

Larry Lowe By Larry Lowe
The Examiner
4-30-13

A bombshell exploded at the mock Citizen Hearing on Disclosure today in Washington, D.C., when retired USAF Tech Sergeants John Burroughs and James Penniston announced their intention to bring a federal lawsuit against the Veterans Administration in an effort to obtain medical benefits to remedy injuries sustained in the line of duty.

If the lawsuit comes to trial, it will be significant as a formal legal inquiry into a series of events that have eluded public discussion for over three decades. The last time the phenomenon at question was formally addressed by the U.S. government was in 1968, when the House Committee on Science and Astronautics heard testimony by key UFO researchers including University of Arizona atmospheric physicist James E. McDonald.

The career United States Air Force veterans claim the government is denying them information that would allow proper treatment for injuries sustained in the line of duty as base security at the US airbase at RAF Bentwaters in December of 1980. Burroughs is currently a resident of Sedona, Arizona.

Penniston and Burroughs were the first on-scene responders to a potential base incursion by an object of unknown origin into one of the most sensitive United States Air Force installations at the height of the cold war. As such, the pair were momentarily on the front lines of the USAF defense establishment in Europe.

In the course of first response, Penniston and Burroughs were exposed to the effects of an as yet unexplained phenomenon. At the time the base was a key component of US Air Force deterrent strength at the height of the Cold War and the area surrounding the base home to a variety of high-power radar and electromagnetic weaponry. Incidentally, the base had one of the highest suicide rates of any in the Air Force.

To this day, there has been no public explanation of the events surrounding their exposure to the phenomenon. The incident in question has been denied by USAF representatives despite the release in 1983 of a memorandum by the then-Deputy Base Commander Lt. Col. Charles Halt to the British Ministry of Defence confirming the incident.

The pair claim that formerly classified documents confirm that the Air Force was aware of potential dangers the phenomenon presented to the airmen, but failed to properly brief them for their mission.

Both Burroughs and Penniston have experienced medical issues in the years since. The VA has utterly denied benefits to the pair and further obfuscated any release of medical records on the incident without reason.

“We've been stonewalled”, Burroughs said. “We've tried A, We've Tried B, we've tried C and none of the avenues has lead to proper support of our post-incident medical issues, nor to any viable explanation why information useful to treatment of our condition is being withheld.”

By filing a federal lawsuit, the pair intends to force disclosure of the details known to their chain of command pertaining to the incident that would prove useful in treatment of their respective conditions.

According to Patrick Frascogna, council for the pair:
“After almost two years of utterly futile attempts to obtain John Burroughs' and Jim Penniston's service medical records from the government, in addition to one failed attempt by Arizona Senator Jon Kyl, it is becoming patently obvious that someone, somewhere, does not want them released.”

“Key records from the time frame in question are considered classified by the VA. Consequently, if we cannot obtain them, all of them, without redaction, then we will be left with no recourse other than to file suit against the federal government, perhaps even by year's end.”

If the action moves forward, the chain of command and key witnesses to the potential incursion the pair responded to will be subpoenaed to testify as to the nature of the phenomenon Penniston and Burroughs were exposed to and knowledge of it withheld from them during training.

"It's time to see how much memory can be recovered when you have to raise your right hand," Burroughs said in a post to their Facebook page, 'Justice for the Bentwaters 81st Security Police at Rendlesham Forest 1980'.

Further details of the impending suit will be provided by Patrick Frasconga, council for the plaintiffs, as will responses to all further media queries.

“We don't intend to be the last two casualties of the Cold War”, Burroughs said, “left hung out to dry by our chain of command and obsolete notions of national security. There is no reason at this late date to deny us the information that could extend our lives, the bulk of which we spent in service to our country.”

The announcement is a shot across the bow of the ship of state.

The UFO community is fond of quoting Col. Nathan R. Jessup (Jack Nicholson) in the movie A Few Good Men when -- speaking from the frame of reference of the military mindset that prefers to operate from behind a curtain of secrecy presumably justified by the needs of 'national security' while covering up his abuse of command -- Jessup tells the prosecuting attorney "You can't handle the truth!"

A more appropriate quote from the film, taken in the context of a career military service person responding to a perceived injustice, is when Jessup reacts to being caught in his own lies and erupts "You just f**ked with the wrong Marine!"

In stonewalling Penniston and Burroughs access to the records of the effect of the phenomenon, the shadowy officials withholding information that could extend their lives have likely f**ked with the wrong airmen.

The pair have been swept up in a cover-up of something truly phenomenal that began even as the events were unfolding in three successive nights just after Christmas, 1980. In the immediate aftermath, airmen were chemically debriefed, a team appeared out of nowhere to gather evidence, which disappeared into the bowls of the defense establishment, while cover stories of 'little green men' in 'flying saucers' were spread among the townsfolk.

The pair, both from the midwest, and share quintessentially American values. If you are going to deal with these guys, you need to have your life squared away and live up to your word, as they do. Chief among these values is a sense of justice and fair play, perhaps the fundamental American virtue.

They are not your usual phenomenon witnesses. They both have experience in law enforcement and know how to cross examine a witness. Both understand well the intricacies of dealing with the government bureaucracy. And they both know how to compartmentalize information on a need to know basis. They have taken careful, methodical steps to arrive at a point where a federal lawsuit is likely the only recourse.

The story really begins in December of 2010 at a 30th reunion when they both felt a compelling need to revisit the scene of the crime. Revisiting Rendlesham Forest. Penniston in particular was affected with a 'total recall' of the events of the night of their original encounter.

That reunion visit let to the airing of an episode of Ancient Aliens that revitalized the case with the revelation of a cryptic notation Penniston had felt compelled to make in his notebook: Pages of '1's and '0's that are now understandable as binary code, but which were meaningless to him at the time.

Decoding the binary revealed a more cryptic message and a set of coordinates scattered around the globe, each of which can be associated with an ancient civilization.

In the wake of the reunion, and with the advent of worsening health problems (vertigo and heart issues) the pair decided to launch their own investigation.

Accompanied by a veteran investigator, Burroughs made the first visit to one of the locations described in the binary code and later Penniston flew to Arizona to examine the area further. Events transpired that would indicate that whatever phenomenon the encountered in the forest outside Rendlesham was still having an effect on their lives and perceptions.

Meanwhile, they began an investigation into the activities of fellow witnesses and their chain of command, one that would eventually reach as far as Arizona Senator John Kyle, who, after looking into the matter, announced he could not help them.

The USAF records department announced that it did not have any records on the incident, in direct contradiction to the State Department, which claimed that all records were the property of the USAF. When letters were sent to the players in the field inquiring about a willingness to testify, they were met largely with silence, however several national security organizations began evidencing an interest in the pair's investigation.

Technically, Penniston says, there is nothing to prevent him from discussing the event—he was told that the matter was not classified upon his mustering out processing. But all the records of RAF Bentwaters are strangely missing during the time period in question, as are Burroughs' medical records, which are understood to be in a classified section of the VA database. A Veteran's Administration nurse reviewing his medical history concluded 'obviously I don't have a need to know' the details of his encounter and concluded a review on his behalf. Absent the relevant information, it is hard to understand how VA medical personnel can make an accurate diagnosis or provide proper treatment.

As Burroughs noted on the Justice Facebook page recently:
"We are involved in an ongoing campaign to force the authorities to reveal the truth about what happened and to seek justice for the men and women caught up in these incidents, some of whom have suffered adverse physical and psychological effects. This campaign has a number of strands, including legal action, targeted Freedom of Information Act requests, and our forthcoming book, which is being handled by one of the world's biggest and most prestigious publishing houses."

Neither Burroughs nor Penniston make any claim to know what actually happened to them nor what they and a number of other military witnesses perceived during the incidents. Perhaps the most accurate presentation done to date was a 2013 Canadian Discovery Channel episode now beginning to aired in the US.

Whatever he origin of the events, it seems clear that the government knows more than it is willing to release about the incident. Withholding information to two of the first three responders on scene that could extend their lives seems at odds with the very American ideals they devoted their careers to protect and defend.

Whatever the truth may be, Burroughs and Penniston are intent upon finding it. While those convinced that the government is withholding information on a potentially paradigm-shifting issue are justifiably excited by the announcement, caution is in order, as a number of hurtles need to be overcome before the case would come to trial. Not the least of which is separating truly viable classified information vital to national security interests from information that is merely inconvenient to the orderly function of the body politic.

All formal media inquiries are being handled by the pair's attorney. To learn more about the intended lawsuit, contact:

One UFO at RAF Bentwaters Appeared on Radar: Skeptics Claim Witnesses Mistook a Lighthouse for a UFO but Two Air Traffic Controllers Say They Tracked an Otherworldly Craft

Barker.

During a taped telephone call Carey told me:
At the time, I was a tech sergeant, an air traffic controller with the 2164th Communications Squadron. The other controller was named Ike Barker. A major named -------- was also there…

What I remember is seeing was a very fast object on the radar we had in the tower. The scope was variable—it had a zoom as far as its [displayed] range, between five and 60-miles radius, but I think it was at set at a 60-miles when the object appeared. It came in from the east, went straight west across the scope and disappeared off the left side. It took maybe four sweeps—each sweep was two or three seconds—to cross it entirely. So it covered 120 miles in [approximately eight to twelve] seconds. In the 15 years I was an air traffic controller, I’d never seen anything travel across the scope that fast.

A few seconds later, it came back on the scope, retracing its course, west to east, at the same speed. Then—I think it was maybe half or three-quarters of the way across—it did an immediate right-angle turn and headed south, off the bottom of the screen. I mean, it turned just like that, instantly. We couldn’t believe it! I told Ike, ‘Okay, that was not one of ours!’

So, that’s all I remember, except for the chatter on the radio. I think it was on the major’s hand-held radio, which was turned to the Command Post Net. That’s who he always talked to [on other occasions]. I wasn’t really listening to it, so I don’t remember any of the details, but I do know that [the radio] was pretty quiet all night then, all of a sudden, they’re just yakking back and forth. They were kind of excited but that’s all I recall. Besides, if they were going to discuss UFOs or security problems, or that kind of stuff, they would have gone to a restricted channel, which they scrambled. But the chatter did start up a little while after we tracked the object. Anyway, I only saw the unidentified object on radar, but Ike told us that he saw something out the window.
He did indeed! When I interviewed Barker on audio tape he said,

And there was a visual on [the UFO we were tracking]. When it hovered, I saw it out the window. It was basketball-shaped, and had sort of an orangish glow. Not bright orange, uh, sort of dim, maybe like the full moon would look behind a thin layer of clouds. There seemed to be something across the center of it, lighter-colored shapes like—don’t laugh—like portholes or windows, or even lights, in a row left to right, across its center. Maybe six or eight of them. They were stationary, not moving across the object. But it seemed spherical, not flat like a flying saucer. I couldn’t hear any noise. It wasn’t huge, but I think it was bigger than an airplane. I would say it was maybe twice the size of an F-111.

Now, there’s a water tower at Bentwaters. If you were in the air traffic tower, facing the runway, the tower is almost behind you. [From my vantage point] the object was directly over top of the water tower, or just past it. The object [appeared] larger, maybe twice as large, as the tank on the water tower. It stopped in mid-air for a few seconds, probably 500-feet, uh, maybe a 1000-feet above the tower, then it left. I didn’t see it turn, uh, rotate or anything like that before leaving. But what impressed me most was the speed this thing had. I have never seen anything so fast in my life! It was zoom, gone!
When I told Barker that Carey had said he did not remember seeing the UFO out the window, Barker replied emphatically, “Oh, he saw it! They both saw it! But we weren’t going to admit that. Just after I saw the object out the window, I turned to Jim and --- and said, ‘I didn’t see that, did you?’ One of them responded, ‘No, I didn’t see it either.’ I don’t remember who answered me, but they both saw it. But we made no log entries on anything, including the fast-moving target. We didn’t really have a discussion about not telling anyone, because that was already understood.”

Barker then mentioned an earlier UFO incident, at a USAF base in Japan, during which he had been grilled by Air Force investigators. “The controllers were harassed to the point that they said the object they saw were only aircraft lights. That taught me a lesson: Never go on the record. Never open your mouth. So, at Bentwaters, I think we were all scared to discuss it. I know I was. As I said before, we didn’t even record it in the log.”

Barker added, “After the object left, uh, maybe an hour later, we could see lights, actually a glow, in the direction of Woodbridge, but the trees blocked our view so we couldn’t see what was causing it. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure if --- was still up [in the tower] at that time, but I know Jim was. The glow seemed like it was coming out of the forest; it wasn’t like lights in the air. It could have even been vehicles on the ground, but I know one damn thing—it wasn’t a lighthouse!”

Barker laughed heartily at his own jibe. All of my Bentwaters sources think UFO debunker James McGaha’s notorious lighthouse explanation for the UFO sightings is ridiculous, and have gone out of their way to tell me so. Now that I have secured the candid testimony of the two air traffic controllers who were working in the Bentwaters tower every night that week, I’m certain McGaha will come up with a false-radar-return theory to explain away the tracking, as well as some other mumbo jumbo to explain away the spherical, orange-colored object Barker saw out the tower’s window.

It is not possible to directly link the object Carey and Baker tracked/saw with the unidentified aerial object that maneuvered near the nuclear Weapons Storage Area, as described by Col. Charles Halt in my last article. The former hovered momentarily near the Bentwaters air traffic control tower; the latter apparently lingered over or near WSA for an extended period, while sending down light beams. However, the two controllers’ testimony does confirm that at least one bona fide UFO was present at the base on that date.

Importantly, a British radar unit apparently tracked the same object. Barker told me that he or Carey had called a British radar unit known as Eastern Radar to report the tracking. British UFO skeptic Dr. David Clarke has interviewed the RAF Commander who was at the facility in 1980-81, Derek Coumbe, who confirms receiving a call from the Bentwaters tower. According to Clarke, “[Coumbe] was on duty when the UFO report was received in the early hours of 28 December. He said he received a direct call patched through from the Bentwaters tower reporting a ‘flashing light’ over Rendlesham Forest.” Coumbe logged the call, noting that although he had the duty controller attempt to verify the track, “nothing was observed.”

However, despite this supposedly definitive statement by Coumbe, new information has come to light which apparently contradicts it. Former Ministry of Defence (MoD) UFO specialist Nick Pope writes:
Looking at radar evidence is a critical part of any UFO investigation. There have been plenty of spectacular UFO sightings over the years, many correlated by radar…

In the absence of any radar data that might confirm the presence of the Rendlesham Forest UFOs, the investigation petered out. Yet, as I was to discover years later, the UFO had been tracked, after all.

I spoke to former RAF radar operator Nigel Kerr who had been stationed at RAF Watton at Christmas 1980 and had received a call from somebody at RAF Bentwaters. The caller wanted to know if there was anything unusual on his radar screen. He looked and for three or four sweeps, something did show up, directly over the base. But it faded away and no official report was ever made. It was only years later that Kerr even heard of the Rendlesham Forest incident and realized he might have a missing piece of the puzzle.
In other words, the British Eastern Radar unit at RAF Watton had briefly tracked the UFO, just as the USAF controllers at RAF Bentwaters had. However, as at Bentwaters, no official report about the tracking had been filed. Why Eastern Radar’s former commander, Derek Coumbe, misled Dr. Clarke about there having been no tracking is anyone’s guess. Perhaps, because no report was generated, his memory of the incident was impaired. Or, perhaps, he simply did not wish to discuss the matter publicly.

The importance of the radar tracking revelations can not be overstated. Two independent military units tracked an anomalous aerial object during the peak week of UFO reports at the twin bases. Moreover, one of those units—the USAF controllers at RAF Bentwaters—had a visual on a hovering, spherical object which correlated with that tracking.

I finally asked Ike Barker for his opinion about the object he tracked. He replied, “I can tell you that this was no manmade technology. I was very familiar with all types of aircraft, obviously, and I can tell you that what I saw was not from any country on Earth. I will never forget it!”

Sceptics, believers and inquisitive minds are being given another chance to hear leading experts, researchers and ufologists discuss the infamous Rendlesham Forest incident.

Last December, Woodbridge Community Hall was filled to capacity for the 30th anniversary Rendlesham Forest UFO conference – and this Saturday organisers want witnesses to share their tales of unexplained sightings.

Guest speakers on the night are set to include Brenda Butler, coauthor of Skycrash, and an authority on the notorious incident of late December 1980, often described as Britain’s Roswell.

Former US airman Larry Warren will return with his account of events on the third night of the sightings, and space travel expert David Bryant is due to talk about UFOs and the Apollo shuttle missions.
