Petitions, UFO's & Disclosure

     Over here in the U.K. I've been following with interest, the progress of the 'We the people' petitions, regarding E.T. disclosure in the U.S.

I'm an ex ad man, with over 25 years of hands on experience, in marketing & communications. Most of that time was spent, at top London agencies &/or their subsidiaries, at JWT, Saatchis, Publicis & O&M.

I must admit that when I read the wording of the first White House petition, it made me cringe with embarrassment, given that the UFO phenomenon, is now so undeniable & may turn out to be, a very big threat indeed. The wording of the petition smacks of a continuing mistrust in your government & the military. It's plainly targeted at getting the Obama administration to confess to alien contact & admit some kind of conspiracy that quite probably, harps back to the days of Roswell.

Call me simplistic if you like, but it seems to me, that the responsibility of the people today, must be first to get the Obama administration to disclose the current UFO presence & then to focus on any threat, that they may bring.

I can only think the first petition was pitched the way it was, in some forlorn hope & expectation that an admission by the administration, would provide a sensational & entertaining media scenario, from which money could be made from book sales! The fact is, that the content & tone of the Paradigm petition, sounded so much like witchcraft & hocus-pocus, that The White House, has snatched the opportunity
in their response, to finally nail the old 'alien/conspiracy' chestnut, forever! And who can can blame them for it, given they were offered such a glorious opportunity, on a plate! They must have clapped like seals, when they first got sight of the petition.

Whilst all this historic, catharsis effort has been going on, the more important & immediate threat of the UFOs there in our skies today, continues to be overlooked.

I guess from now on, we all need to promote the UFO issue more urgently, in order to meet the immediate challenge. The goalposts for E.T., must surely move, from now on.

To that end, those people who have taken the time to read my recent sighting report in 'The UFO Chronicles', will know why we are getting increasingly concerned, about the growing number of UFO sightings, here in The U.K. They've been intruding into our airspace this summer, buzzing flight paths & busy airport stacking circuits. What's more, they've been doing so, in big numbers. In fact, they seem to have been using my own backyard here in Sussex, like a personal airport, just coming & going, as they please. This is not another conjured illusion, it's actually been happening, right here, on the picturesque, Sussex Weald.

Now, we can all continue the long & nebulous debates about the merits of individual UFO sightings across The World or we can accept that many are true & start putting our heads together to get something done about it! I would certainly vote for the latter. After all, many of us, have the future security of our children & grandchildren, to consider, & I for one, don't intend, to let them down.

Disclosure petitions, are all good & well but involve a lot of time & talking, & so far, they seem to have got us nowhere!

I understand that yet another two E.T. petitions, have now been posted on The White House website & that signatures to each, will now need to reach 25,000, before The White House will be prepared to respond.

It will be interesting to see, if either of them, ever get to reach this increased threshold, within the timescale? The fact that there are now two petitions up there together, may lead to confusion & possible cannibalization, of each others signatures!

The urgent way ahead now, must be for an organization such as MUFON, to canvass the support of congressmen, representatives & the military. UFO's should not be about making book deals, they're about public safety.

If I've read the opinion polls correctly, then I believe that over half the U.S. population, already believe in an E.T. presence. If MUFON were to hire in some top-notch PR professionals, they would then have the means to canvass congressmen & the like, & begin to convert the huge amount of public recognition in E.T. into an open debate about the current UFO presence, & therby, begin to circumvent the current hiatus & reluctance of both The White House & the military, to disclose & discuss the UFO phenomenon. When the issue is firmly on the table, the media will no doubt amplify it's 'noise' considerably & The White House & the military will be placed under increasing pressure, to recognising the mood of the nation & in turn, begin to open up on the whole UFO issue & make it an urgent concern & priority.

My best guess is that the U.S. 'powers that be', are fully aware of the increasing UFO presence in our skies today & they are reviewing it's status, as & when, intelligence comes their way. I also think that they may well have the interests of your nation at heart but don't wish to drive people to panic the & perhaps even more importantly, send the U.S. & worldwide economies, into a meltdown.
The stakes on making UFO intelligence public, are very
high indeed!

Although we do need to 'up the ante', on this one, we also need to tread very carefully, on this delicate issue.

UFO NEWS | Yet Another Petition is Borne: Requests Investigation into Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP)

     On Sept 22, two petitions were established by ET/Alien Lobbyist Steve Bassett of The Paradigm Group (PRG) at the newly created “We The People, Your Voice in Our Government” web-page at the White House’s official web-site, they stated the following respectively:

Immediately disclose the government's knowledge of and communications with extraterrestrial beings

This Petition calls for the President to disclose to the American people the long withheld knowledge of government interactions with extraterrestrial beings and call for open Congressional hearings to allow the people to become aware of this subject through those whose voices have been silenced by unconstitutional secrecy oaths.

formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race - Disclosure.

Disclosure Petition - Paradigm Research Group

We, the undersigned, strongly urge the President of the United States to formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race and immediately release into the public domain all files from all agencies and military services relevant to this phenomenon."

Hundreds of military and government agency witnesses have come forward with testimony confirming this extraterrestrial presence. Opinion polls now indicate more than 50% of the American people believe there is an extraterrestrial presence and more than 80% believe the government is not telling the truth about this phenomenon. The people have a right to know. The people can handle the truth.

At that time 5000 signatures was the threshold to incur an official response (now 25,000); both achieved that goal, the latter with over 12,000 signatures. A few weeks later and to no one’s surprise (in my view) the expected response was posted by Phil Larson for space policy and communications at the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, and it in part read as follows:

“Thank you for signing the petition asking the Obama Administration to acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence here on Earth.

The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye.

However, that doesn't mean the subject of life outside our planet isn't being discussed or explored. In fact, there are a number of projects working toward the goal of understanding if life can or does exist off Earth.”

From there Larson cited the SETI program, the Keplar spacecraft and the Mars Science Laboratory, Curiosity as examples of the fore mentioned search and or study of the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

Although, the petitions had little or no impact in regards to their intent, they did create a lot of controversy in the so-called UFO community. Stan Friedman was quick to pen a staunch critique of White House’s official response in his piece entitled, Petition, UFOs, White House and Lies. Shortly thereafter noted journalist/author Leslie Kean chimed in with her sober, sagacious “Way Forward.”

This brings us to the latest petition authored by UFO celebrities Richard M. DOLAN and Bryce ZABEL, it states:

Investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomena as Reported by Citizens, Police, Astronauts, Pilots and the Military

Searching for microbes on Mars and radio signals from space is not enough. We must explain Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAP, right here on Earth.

For six decades worldwide, credible witnesses (including Presidents Carter and Reagan) have consistently described objects with flight capabilities beyond our technology. UAP are often verified by radar and even seen at nuclear sites by military officers.

Given the national security implications, the United States should conduct an independent investigation. This inquiry must transparently review the key unsolved UAP reports with access to classified documents. It must have the power to call witnesses and grant immunity.

The findings should be publicly presented.

Aside from citing Martian microbes and signals from space in the first sentence, the verbiage: ET’s, extraterrestrials, aliens etc.—were omitted from the appeal.

On Dolan & Zabel’s web-site they make clear that there isn’t a conflict with Bassett (who is submitting another petition as well); they write:

"Our good friend Stephen Bassett has drafted another petition, which he calls 'Disclosure Petition II - Rockefeller Initiative' that is also up on the White House website. We urge you to also read it and consider signing.

The fact that there are two prominent petitions is not a sign of discord or competition. It's a healthy part of the dialogue. We salute Steve and all the others who are working for Disclosure.

We're all in this together."

Although there is no intent of dissension, one can’t help but wonder about the redundancy of “multiple petitions.” At this writing, the latest petition has garnered 165 signatures, with 24,835 to go.

     Among the unintentional consequences of the White House “We The People” petition drive — currently gauging public interest on everything from marijuana laws to Net neutrality — is an emerging glimpse into the polarization of the UFO dilemma in America. In rebuffing two recent petitions calling for an end to the alleged coverup of “extraterrestrial” interactions with Earthlings, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, at the very minimum, demanded a higher standard of proof from a field of research renowned for its fractiousness.

Though the OSTP’s Phil Larson needed galoshes for the cloudburst of jeers provoked by his recent “no credible evidence of extraterrestrial presence here on Earth” petition response, Leslie Kean rushed to his defense. The author of UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record, Kean staked the credibility of her 2010 New York Times bestseller on working with, and getting endorsements from, sources with unassailable CVs. On the Record challenged “scientists who should no longer be allowed the luxury of denial,” and urged American establishment science to grow a pair and join the rest of the world in conducting public and transparent research. A study with integrity, she argues, could reap a windfall in expanding our understanding of physics.

In a Huffington Post blog two weeks ago, Kean hammered not Larson’s response, but the “inappropriate and fundamentally flawed content of the [We The People] petitions themselves.” Kean, whose work was turned into a History Channel documentary last summer, took the petition authors to task for using presumptuous language.

“Clearly,” she stated, “we can’t make the leap from the existence of unknown airborne objects, for which we have proof, to claims of extraterrestrial communications, which can’t be proven, if we want to appeal to scientists.” Noting how the term “UFO” was conspicuously omitted from both petitions, she advocated the establishment of a small but formal government office to take a fresh look at the best cases, and report to “a qualified civilian oversight board.”

Lobbyist Steve Bassett, whose “disclosure” petition collected 12,078 signatures, says “UFO is the language of the information embargo,” and is planning to launch another petition challenge on Thursday. “Leslie Kean wants to continue to play their game,” says Bassett. “She’s calling it ‘a new way forward,’ but I say it’s the old way going backward.”

But abandoning the “We The People” option as a lost cause altogether is retired USAF captain Robert Salas, whose petition collected 5,387 endorsements. Spurred by his active-duty experience in 1967 when a number of nuclear missiles went off-line in their silos during alleged UFO surveillance of a Strategic Air Command facility, Salas is piqued by “the simplistic and dismissive statements” from the OSTP. He thinks Kean is barking up the wrong tree.

     On December 1, 2011 the second Disclosure Petition will be submitted to the White House's We the People initiative. Under the new rules this petition must secure 25,000 signatures within 30 days of its submission (by December 31) in order to receive a formal response from the Obama administration. The first Disclosure Petition received 12,078 signatures. Over the next two weeks PRG will pre-promote Disclosure Petition II to ensure it has the best possible chance to succeed. Also, if on submission it quickly secures thousands of signatures, it will attract immediate media attention.

The response to the first Disclosure Petition was unacceptable and indefensible. Disclosure Petition II is a direct challenge to that response and could generate a substantial media engagement. But it is up to the people to make that happen. Spread the word this petition will go active on the White House website on December 1, 2011.

Response to Disclosure Petition I

The Disclosure Petition II language and info to be submitted are as follows:

"We petition the Obama Administration to demand a full congressional investigation of UFO/ET Disclosure efforts by the Clinton OSTP - the Rockefeller Initiative."

In response to the first Disclosure Petition, the OSTP stated, "The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race."

If true, what was the OSTP investigating from March 1993 to October 1996 in concert with billionaire and Clinton friend, Laurance Rockefeller?

Those who knew of and have not spoken publicly of this initiative include: Bill Clinton, Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, Obama transition co-chair John Podesta, Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta, Dr. John Gibbons, Albert Gore and Governor Bill Richardson.
