Actor David Soul and His UFO Movie Role

Actor David Soul and His UFO Movie Role - www.theufochronicles.com

Actor David Soul died at age 80 this week, and while most people will remember him for his role in the TV series, Starsky and Hutch -- and for a brief but popular singing career -- few may recall his role in a movie about UFOs.

In 1974, a low-budget TV movie entitled, The Disappearance of Flight 412 premiered on the NBC TV Network. Starring Glenn Ford and several other familiar actors, one of the characters who portrayed an Air Force pilot was David Soul.

We have mentioned this motion picture on several occasions over the years, but the notable thing about it was that one of the script's writers, himself with a military background, was actually putting into fiction an actual event with which he was familiar. In this case, two Marine pilots disappear while checking out three radar UFOs, and later on only a little aircraft wreckage is located with no trace of the pilots. A similar jet scramble happens only days later, but this is only mentioned by the narrator toward the end.

Adding to the intrigue regarding production of the film, the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO) of Arizona, then one of the oldest private UFO organizations in the world, provided purportedly real photos of UFOs, and these were displayed as part of the story.

The Disappearance of Flight 412 has long ago faded into the background, probably because of its obvious minimal budget and lack of aliens with laser weapons threatening the planet, but once the viewer understands that there's real -- frightening -- history here, the production takes on a different value for us.

David Soul's role was no more or less noteworthy than that of the other actors, but the fact that he took on this project, primarily a showplace for Glenn Ford, who himself was a military officer and already held views about UFOs, should be of interest particularly to those interested in UFO history. I just wanted you to know.

We have been sent information that supports the movie viral campaign theory. One story comes from a reader who says he saw a trailed for the movie that was online for a short period of time and then taken down. Another comes from Dr. Lynne Kitei, who runs the website ThePhoenixLights.net and has made a documentary on the subject. She was a witness herself. She says that a group making a movie about the Phoenix Lights approached her asking if she would like to be involved. She said she declined.

She says the movie being about aliens battling the US Military is in stark contrast to the data, which indicates that the Phoenix Lights Events were benevolent. She stated that,”there has not been one report of harm, threat or abduction associated with the 1997 AZ mass sighting in over 17 years,” adding that this new video and website may be a PR ploy by those movie makers.

Perhaps the best tip was from another reader who says they recognized Collins as being an actor in an episode of Seinfeld. They said it was the guy who sold the Karl Farbman furniture. Being avid Seinfeld watchers, we at OpenMinds.tv immediately recognized the episode, and sure enough, it does appear to be the same actor. His name is James Patrick Stuart. You can read more about him on IMDB.

James Patrick Stuart (IMBD)

It looks like the Seinfeld Farbman sales guy is the same actor who is now portraying David Collins. Interestingly, when The Black Vault posted our story about this video, The Black Vault’s founder, John Greenewald, also labeled it a hoax. He says he received an email alleging to be from Collins, who was disappointed that Greenewald would label his video a hoax. Greenewald responded that he would be more than happy to post a retort from Collins, but has not yet received a response to this offer.

Danny Dyer 'still adamant that UFOs exist'

Danny Dyer has said he would love an extra-terrestrial being to pay someone on Earth a visit one day.

The 36-year-old soap star, who famously fronted a BBC Three documentary called 'I Believe in UFOs' in 2010, still believes he has witnessed extra-terrestrial activity in the past.

Asked whether he still believes in aliens, Dyer told BBC Radio 1: "Yeah. I've seen UFOs. It wasn't an aeroplane, it certainly wasn't a balloon, it wasn't a Chinese lantern."

When host Matt Edmondson joked; "Was it a kite?"

Dyer replied: "It was a pretty lively kite, I'll tell you! You're just one of them that will not believe. I would love an alien to come down and give you a little visit. I would pay good money for that." . . .
