UFO Reported To Air Traffic Control at Port Elizabeth
At approximately 21h30, on Monday night, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) in Port Elizabeth was requested by Air Traffic Control to investigate the sighting of an unidentified flying object - commonly called UFO.

"A Boeing 737 cargo aircraft Captain and Co-Pilot, flying from Cape Town International Airport to Port Elizabeth International Airport, reported seeing what appeared to be a green object increasing in altitude past the cockpit of their aeroplane reaching to about a thousand feet into clouds above them and then returning towards earth at high speed past the cockpit of the aeroplane," said NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon.

"The sighting was reported to Air Traffic Control at Port Elizabeth International Airport, who requested NSRI's assistance to investigate the possibility that an aircraft or craft may be in difficulty.

Clover and FutureLife have confirmed that they are behind the recent series of "UFO sightings" in Cape Town, Durban, Soweto and Sandton.

The hoax, which was a marketing stunt to launch their new smart milk drink, has been met with mixed reaction on social media.

CapeTalk host John Maytham and advertising expert Jonathan Cherry have disagreed on the effectiveness of the extraterrestrial campaign and whether or not brand value has been added to the dairy product.

JOHANNEBSURG - UFO sightings. Strange lights in the sky. Unexplained crash sites. Could it all just be coincidence ... or were there aliens in Sandton?

Well, as it turns out there is a more plausible explanation for some of the odd occurrences in and around Johannesburg's business district.

One of EWN's intrepid alien hunters (read "journalist") did some digging and in true sci-fi style found a folder with the words "Top Secret" stamped on it. She knew she'd found something important.

Okay, that didn't really happen. But we did speak to food producer FutureLife which says a UFO landing at the corner of Sandton Drive and William Nicol was in fact the big reveal for its new energy drink. [...]

'UFO Clouds' Are Real - Here's How They Happen

'UFO Clouds' Are Real - Here's How They Happen

Technically called “lenticular clouds,” the weird phenomenon
seen over Cape Town has a simple explanation

Social media users in Cape Town, South Africa, posted photos over the weekend that call to mind classic alien invasion movies. The pictures feature eerie, saucer-shaped puffs that seem to hang over the sky like UFOs.

But these so-called “UFO clouds” are nothing to fear.

Meteorologists call them lenticular clouds, which form when strong, moist winds blow over rough terrain, such as mountains or valleys. Picturesque Cape Town is framed by such features, including the 3,500-foot (1,066-meter) Table Mountain. [...]

Three Silent, Low Flying, Triangle-Shaped UFOs Move Overhead - Johannesburg, South Africa 4-23-14

South African witness reports low flying UFOs

By Roger Marsh
The Examiner
4-27-14

A witness in Johannesburg, South Africa, reported watching three silent, low flying, triangle-shaped UFOs move overhead, according to April 27, 2014, testimony in Case 55806 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside observing the sky just after 9 p.m. on April 23, 2014, when an object was noticed in the Belt of Orion area of the sky.

"Its triangular or V-shape was apparent only due to the thin V-shaped wisps of cloud engulfing its flanks," the witness stated. "The inside borders of the clouds were straight and clearly defined. The 'craft' appeared to be quite low and sped directly across the sky, disappearing behind the tree line in my garden in a northerly direction. Its altitude, speed and direction were constant. There was absolutely no sound." . . .

Interpol UFO Report in South Africa?

By Paul Dale Roberts

. . . At 10pm January 1, 2011, I may have received a phone call from operatives of the Israeli Mossad and Interpol, but of course again, it could have been a prank international call. I report it as it comes to me. Here is that report:
Paul: Hello?

Aliquis: (Speaker Phone) Hello Paul, we just had a UFO sighting that was kind of unusual and want to make a report. (Accent).

Paul: Sure, go ahead. What is your name?

Aliquis: Call me Aliquis, my partner here is Hospes.

Paul: What are your full names? Where are you calling from, this is a very unusual number?

Hospes: No full names please ( British accent?). We are here at Annadale, South Africa and we see something unusual. We can’t explain it. Do you take UFO reports?

Paul: Yes, HPI takes UFO reports, how did you find me?

Aliquis: We read your UFO stories on Internet, you are easy access to reach. This morning at 8am we see two UFOs. One UFO chase other UFO and shoot beam at UFO. UFO keeps beam on other UFO and moves it along and up into the clouds. The clouds parted and we could see the blue sky.

Paul: It is 10pm here and it’s still Jan 1st, it must be Jan 2nd over there, correct?

Hospes: Yes, correct.

Paul: So, you are saying the other UFO shot out a trajectory beam at the other UFO and it appeared it was towing the other UFO with a beam?

Hospes: Yes. . . .

UFO Was Rocket, Says Retired Astronomer
By www.enca.com
9-30-13

JOHANNESBURG - An object seen in the sky across the country on Sunday was a rocket and not a UFO as it was widely believed, a satellite tracking expert said on Monday.

Retired astronomer from Cape Town, Greg Roberts said: "What happened was that at 6pm our time yesterday [Sunday] a rocket, called Falcon, was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and carrying several satellites.”

"The rocket was designed by a company called Spacex which has former South African Elon Musk as founder and chief designer."

Roberts said the rocket was launched southwards from California towards the south-polar regions, which it passed over.

It started heading northwards again and just east of South Africa.

"Shortly after 7pm it apparently either vented or released rocket fuel still in its fuel tanks as the basic mission of placing several satellites in orbit had been achieved while over the Antarctic region and this produced the large halo-like object that people saw." . . .

Plett’s ‘alien’ puzzle solved

IT would not be surprising if Plettenberg Bay residents start referring to their town as Area 44 after the carcass of an "alien-looking” creature was discovered at Nature’s Valley this week.

They might even start cashing in on the 044 area code by equating it with New Mexico’s mysterious Area 51, given the bizarre appearance of an animal found on Monday by Curt-Leigh Dixon, 17, the son of SANParks ranger Llewellyn Dixon.

But Dr Magdalena Braum of The Crags Vet Clinic, who performed a postmortem, said yesterday the mysterious creature, exhibiting a highly elongated torso, was in fact a newborn female baboon.

"It was most likely killed by a bite through the skull soon after birth – possibly infanticide which is very common in some primate species when a new male takes over the troop,” she said. . . .

UFO Sightings - 2013 Sees Heightened UFO Activity in South Africa 3-13-13

By nvonews.com
3-13-13

UFO sightings are becoming a commonplace. The year 2013 has seen heightened UFO activity in South Africa and nearby other nations

Someone following you to keep a check on you often, Scary, isn’t it? The people of Cape Town actually have a reason to get scared and that too from aliens. Even more chilling. The founder of a website set up to record such incidents has stated that inhabitants of the Mother City are being observed by life from another planet as they have reported sightings of unidentified flying objects off the coast of Cape Town.

Founder of the UFO Research of South Africa, Gert Jordaan, informed that the action happened more from February 21 to February 27. People often stated that they saw bright orange lights and flames in the sky.

He however stated that these might have been due to meteor showers but there can be an interesting side to it as well.

He stated that meteors radiate an orange glow and some of the sightings reported radical change in direction and speed. He further added that there were bright objects that remained stationary for sometime giving a thought that this might be a UFO activity in areas around Cape Town. He also stated that possibilities are many like a secret aircraft on a sortie or being tested near Cape Town.

Another side to this conversation can be aliens trying to make contact with Earth near Western Cape and trying to send some information across that is to be deciphered. . . .

"South African Group . . . Has Called for the Government To Release Secret UFO Files"

Top Secret Files Eyes Only
Take UFOs seriously, SA group urges

Cape Town - A small, but vocal South African group is urging people to take UFO sightings seriously and has called for the government to release secret UFO files.

"The media around the world has not played a positive role in UFO reports and there is the ridicule factor - people are afraid of the responses they would get," Christo Louw of SAUFOR (South Africa's UFO Resource) told News24.

Louw began his website in 1997 and admitted that he ran the organisation as a "one-man show", but that many South Africans were reporting UFO sightings.
