Residents See 'Very Big Saucer With Bright Green Lights'

Elsewhere in Buryatia, close to Lake Baikal, there are reports of other strange sightings.

The latest unidentified flying objects in the capital of Buryatia have had the social media buzzing in recent days. A woman reported seeing a 'glowing' entity in the sky above Ulan-Ude with 'a lot of green lights, some red and blue'.      Internet and social media sites apparently escalated “news” of a Canadian UFO crash at Jackhead First Nation February 18, 2015. The original story was a gag, according to Canadian UFO Researcher Chris Rutkowski, but details continued anyway.

Canada’s CBC News was in touch with Canadian military who reported that the Manitoba sighting report was actually an airplane from a training exercise.

On Wednesday night, several people said on Twitter and Facebook that they saw a bright light in the sky, fueling speculation that it may have been an unidentified flying object.

The rumour became stronger when photos were posted of Canadian Forces vehicles in the area, with some people claiming the military was there to contain a UFO crash site.

But it was not a UFO at all, says Lt.-Col. Paul Davies, commanding officer 38 Territorial Battalion Group, which is involved in an Arctic Response Company Group training exercise on Lake Winnipeg this week. . . .

UFOs, again were the catalyst for heated deliberation on social media, spilling into the mainstream (as is often the case these days); this time the flare-up started in central Iowa. Residents of the Hawkeye State, along with other Mid-westerner's were treated to a fairly rare (to the person) fireball sighting on Boxing Day no less.

Reports were mixed depending on one’s geography, e.g., some witnesses reported no sound, and others stated they heard one or more sonic booms.

Various astronomy departments as well as the Nation Weather Service, although lean to a meteor, talk of space debris is still in the mix; a definitive report has yet to be seen.

One of the first video’s to surface of the event was from a security camera located in North Liberty, see below:
