MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Son Sees UFOs in Formation

On the 22nd July, at 11:30 pm 07, my son Mark Sears who lives in bushy in Watford saw about 13 orange lights roughly arranged in the shape of a triangel, some of the lights were grouped together. He said that the lights were moving slowly, he saw them for about 10 minutes and then they faded away behind the cloudes.

The Hemeltoday.co.uk site showed that other people saw the lights, they lived in Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Berkhamsted.

UFOs Spotted Over Southampton, Captured On Video

WERE they floating balloons; an elaborate hoax or aliens from another world?

Strange goings on in the skies over Southampton lights were have been captured on film by a Daily Echo reader.

The video shows UFO activity, lights moving slowly over the Thornhill estate, apparently in pairs.

Kevin Prince, 34, of Holcroft Road, who shot the footage, said his kids were playing outside when they spotted the strange lights at about 9.30pm.

"They were moving in a perfectly straight line and were very smooth," he said.

"I'm quite sceptical about UFOs but it was really strange - really weird.

UFOs Sighted Over Norwich

It could be proof there really are little green men out there - or it could just be a close encounter with something far less alien.

A couple spotted five round orange objects moving silently across the skies over the city on Saturday night in one of the first UFO sightings this year.

Liam King, who was visiting Norwich from Colchester with his girlfriend, spotted the glowing orbs as he was walking along St Giles' Street, Upper St Giles' Street and Earlham Road at 10.35pm.

Mr King and his girlfriend were walking back to their hotel on Earlham Road when they saw the mystery objects.

He said: “When we first saw the lights we were walking west up St Giles Street where it was reasonably quiet - and quiet enough to hear that the objects were not emitting any sound.

“Just as we lost the first two behind the roofs of the buildings on Upper St Giles Street we saw a third travelling in the same direction, then a fourth and a fifth.

“We were able to view the fifth light more clearly and were able to see that the light was flying between us and the nearest cloud.”

Another man, who also saw the UFOs but did not want to be named, said: “It was amazing - there were six fireballs in the sky, one was much brighter than the others. I took pictures on my camera but they've come out as white fuzzy blobs. When you zoom in it looks like a spiral in spirals. I watched and they all started disappearing, then, this sounds crazy, but one shot into the other one at a speed far faster than any plane could go. And then they shot into space. I feel silly saying it - but what I saw was not normal.”

The Norfolk UFO Society confirmed Mr King's description is a very common sighting of an unidentified object.

John Sayer, 54, from the organisation said: “Orange is quite a common description and so are balls of light.

“It seems the Norwich area is a hot spot for UFO activity - a lot aren't reported, but the city has one of the highest number of sightings.”

Mr Sayer of Stratton Strawless had around six reports of sightings in the city during the autumn months last year.

Spotters of unidentified flying objects over Hellesdon saw a black triangular craft above Low Road on August 23.

Last week, a pilot and passengers crossing the Channel Islands spotted two large yellow cigar-like objects in the sky.

The objects were thought to be a mile long and the sightings have sparked interest in the eternal question of whether UFOs exist.

Those who believe they have seen an unidentified flying object can report it to the Norfolk UFO Society, but the Ministry of Defence also keeps recordings from across the country.

The MOD reports at the end of 2006 state Norfolk had a similar sighting in East Dereham on May 20 last year where “Orange lights were seen. They appeared to be in formation and travelling slowly.”

We Are Not Alone

Strange lights spotted hovering in the Co Down night sky could be aliens carrying out a surveillance of the Earth - a paranormal expert has claimed.

Betty Meyler, president of the UFO Society of Ireland, made the suggestion that we are not alone after a number of residents in Bangor spotted a series of mysterious orange lights in the sky last weekend.

Air traffic control at Belfast International Airport said it had received reports about the sightings, including one from the Coastguard.

However, the airport said it had no record of any aircraft in the sky at the time.

Ms Meyler, who founded the organisation in 1996, told the Belfast Telegraph these types of sightings are quite rare for Northern Ireland.

"I get at least two or three calls a month from the south about sightings, but not from the north, so this is interesting," she said.

"Most are about lights in the sky, some are in a triangular formation.

"A lot of these sightings take place in megalithic sites, but I don't know what is in Bangor in that respect."

One resident who witnessed the lights described them as "three orange globes".

He said he watched them for five minutes and they then disappeared.

Ms Meyler, who is based in Co Roscommon in the Republic, said: "We believe these extra terrestrials are doing a surveillance of the Earth and when we are ready for it - which we're not at the moment - they will show themselves and they just want to come in love and peace to help us.

"Usually what happens is that only one or two people see it and then they don't always come forward as they are afraid of being laughed at, but I think this needs to be taken very seriously."

Ms Meyler said UFO sceptics do not bother her in trying to learn about alien life forms.

"Look what they did to Galileo when he said the earth was round and everyone else said it was flat," she said.

"He was taken up for heresy. So anything new is always laughed at and ridiculed, so I'm used to it, it doesn't bother me. I just feel that I am right.

"I think it is my job to educate other people to think the way I'm thinking."

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Sighting Near Location of Alleged Train/UFO Collision

I just found this site today and was reading the CSX Train inccedend , I live only about nine miles from there and have driven that road several times as just a Sunday drive or to be doing something .

Anyway as for writeing , back when I was dating my now second wife we had returned to her house she still lived with her parents then at Shelby in Pikeville . It was about the Fall of 1992 yes a long time ago but what I saw will allways be as yesturday unless something happens to me , it was the day I actual started beleiveing in UFOs .

It was late at night the pinpoint time eludes me but it was near midnight my now wife went inside for something and I waited outside as I was getting ready to leave for home. I looked up in the sky it was clear not a cloud no where and I noticed a glowing redish orange more orange than red disc shape in the sky off in front of me it was well above the moutians just sitting there not moveing nor making a sound , I quickly noticed two more in differant parts of the sky just seconds after seeing the frist , because of the out of place color . I watched these disc back and forth for maybe tow mins and all of the sudden they all three moved at the same seemly rate of speed to each other ( not as one but how do I say this it didn't resembly a formation , but just as being with each other ) and as they got with each other they accelerated away at a speed I have no words to desribe . They where high enough in the sky I could see for out of human sight but they didn't just travel and go out of sight they where moveing like the speed you would note a human plane then Wow they where gone .

UFOs Over Harborough?

AN AMATEUR film of the mysterious lights show seen in the night sky above Harborough can be seen exclusively on our website.

The Harborough Mail reported on Thursday (March 1) how Kay Knight and her husband Bob had seen three yellowish lights in the sky above Harborough on Saturday, February 24.

A dozen more readers have since contacted us to say they saw the same unexplained phenomena.

Mike Hodkin, of The Headlands, was one of them - but when he saw the glowing objects travelling over the town at about
11.45pm, he grabbed his camcorder and started filming.

Mr Hodkin said: "There were three orbs travelling together from the direction of Lubenham.

"They were spaced out with about 500 metres between them and they were pulsating a reddish-orange colour.

"They moved on but then two more appeared exactly the same about ten minutes later followed by another on its own just after 1am.

"It was strange because they made no sound as they passed over.

"They looked to be about the size of weather balloons but weather ballons don't glow or pulsate like that.

"I don't think it's aliens but it could be the military testing some new technology.

"It certainly is intriguing and I'd just like to know what they were."

During the very first seconds of his footage you might be able to make out the blurry shape of a tree on the left and his garden fence along the bottom.

The footage is very weak to start but gets better.

The lights were moving slowly and steadily across the night sky, but it was difficult for Mr Hodkin to focus on them and keep the camera steady at the same time.

'Sky Lanterns' Laid To Blame (Again) For Recent UFO Sightings

THE mystery of the unidentified flying objects spotted over Archway may have been solved.

Pedestrians stared skyward, people screamed and cars came to a standstill when a group of around 15 orange glowing lights travelled southwards over busy Archway roundabout at 5.30pm on February 1.

Eyewitnesses described a "squadron" of lights that moved in formation and appeared to be "controlled".

But an anonymous tip-off has led to a more down-to-earth explanation.

A reader alerted the Journal to a party held not far away at the same time as the sightings.

Now Camden Council has admitted that sky lanterns were launched at a private gathering in Waterlow Park, Highgate Hill - just a few hundred metres away.

A spokeswoman for the council said: "There was a private event at Waterlow Park that evening. It was a small family memorial service. They did set off lanterns, but we weren't aware that they were going to do that."

It is believed the service was held for a young Chinese woman.

"Sky lanterns" or "UFO balloons" are mini hot air balloons that can be bought online for use at parties. They cost as little as £9.99 for a packet of six and can rise as high as 1,000 metres.

Video footage of the lights posted on the Journal's website sparked a huge response from as far afield as the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico and Poland - with readers split over what caused the phenomenon.

While some are convinced the lights were UFOs, others are in no doubt they were sky lanterns.

Whatever the cause, Islington-based group Ufology and Supernatural Studies (USS) is keen to hear from witnesses so it can put together a full report on the lights. Its head of operations, Paul Southcott, can be contacted on 07799 058409.

MYSTERY solved? The strange lights are caught on camera (above) as they drift southwards over Archway.

Archway resident Pete Muller took this picture from the bus depot in Vorley Road. But like many of the witnesses of the display, he is not convinced they were "sky lanterns" or "UFO balloons".

He said: "I'm not saying they were of alien origin but I really don't think they were balloons or anything like that.

"They definitely moved in an odd way, as if they were under some form of intelligent control. Furthermore, there were several planes buzzing around the periphery and a helicopter too. It was weird."

Since the Chicago O’Hare airport UFO sighting was publicised many other reports of mysterious lights in the sky have been reported worldwide, which suggests that we are experiencing what is known to ufologists as a “flap,” and that it is continuing. The Islington Gazette has been a focus of interest in UFOs due to a reader’s video being shown on its website, which has prompted a 400 % increase in traffic for the site.

The video shows footage of mysterious unidentified objects that were seen over Archway, Islington, London, and readers reported seeing as many as 50 orange lights in the area.

Internet users worldwide who have seen the video have left their comments by email and the Islington Gazette editor Tony Allcock said: "We were surprised and delighted that the story and video created so much comment from so far afield."

Police and UFO investigation organisation Contact International were alerted at the time of the sightings.

Whilst many witnesses and viewers of the video believe that what is shown is definitely evidence of extraterrestrial craft others have put forward down-to-Earth explanations such as Chinese lanterns, and birds like swans and geese.

In Phoenix, Arizona, USA many people reported seeing strange lights in the sky there but these were explained away as flares used by the military.

At Arkansas another recent sighting, was also said to have been military flares even though Col. Brian Fields, a retired Air Force colonel with 32 years of service made the report, and he was convinced what he had seen was definitely not of this world.

Mystery of Orange UFOs

Bright lights in the skies have baffled police and air-traffic controllers.

The unidentified flying objects have been likened to similar strange orange glows seen over Liverpool and Essex.

Witnesses said thousands of people may have seen the bizarre floating orbs.

Air-traffic controllers at Shoreham Airport and Brighton police said they had received inquiries about the UFOs, with as many as eight seen in the sky at one time.

James Gordon-Johnson, of Preston Park Avenue, Brighton, said he was leaving a restaurant in Shoreham with his brother at 11.30pm on November 18 when he saw "what appeared to be a very big orange light in the sky".

He added: "It was very, very bright but static - it wasn't rising or falling. Another one then appeared in mid-air. Then another.

"It must have been somewhere over Hove Lagoon but the lights were so bright thousands of people must have seen them.

"The next morning I got a phone call from a friend of mine who saw the exact same thing."

Mark Sztopel, from Brighton, told The Argus he saw seven lights moving slowly in an easterly direction across the city at midnight.

He added: "I'm a big plane enthusiast so I know what the lights and characteristics of a plane look like at night, and I can tell you now that these definitely weren't planes."

A spokeswoman for Shoreham Airport said staff had received emails from people inquiring about the glowing objects.

She said: "We closed at 7pm so there was nothing happening here. We've no idea what they could have been."

Police said they also received a report from a man in Hove who said he saw "approximately eight planes coming in over the sea, with no flashing navigation lights, towards Gatwick, in a dead line".

Officers contacted air traffic controllers at Gatwick who said they knew of no movement in the area.

Sue Heard, a police spokeswoman, said: "We were called out and made checks to establish it wasn't a known aircraft.

"It certainly seems pretty baffling on the face of it but there was a meteor shower on Saturday so maybe the two are connected."

A cloud of comet dust produced a Leonids meteor shower over the weekend, which managers of Herstmonceux Observatory said peaked on Saturday night with a display of shooting stars.

UFO spotters have also linked the orange lights to sightings in Liverpool and Essex, recently revealed as hoaxes created using open flames suspended under plastic bags to produce mini hot-air balloons.

But Mr Gordon-Johnson, 33, said: "These weren't meteors - there's no way they were meteors. They were far too big and bright and low in the atmosphere.

"They looked like they were about 3,000 or 4,000ft up. As I kept looking at them they just sat there. I was trying to think of explanations but couldn't think of one.

"It was very odd. If it was just a balloon you wouldn't have seen another just appear at the same altitude. There was no sound. Nothing at all."
