Ryan Adams isn't exactly sure what he saw in the sky around 11:00 p.m. on July 11, but he's sure the mysterious flying object was being chased by police and helicopters.

The 38-year-old rock singer and songwriter was driving in Glendale, Calif., when he claims to have seen a huge UFO in the sky, according to OpenMinds.tv.

"Whatever I saw was like a real sci fi film come to life," he wrote on his Twitter page. "Maybe they were testing the blimp out -- I dunno."

Adams -- who is married to 29-year-old singer-actress Mandy Moore -- sent out several tweets describing what he saw. He also tweeted that he hadn't snapped any pictures of the UFO "because I didn't twitter til I was parked. Enough people are dead from texting and driving."

Here are more portions of what Adams had to say in his tweets:
"Every person that sees something wack and unidentified aren't on drugs. Cars were slowing down to a stall to look at this thing. Wow."

"Three cops were tearing ass in its direction in oncoming traffic. Thing was huge. If it was a blimp then that was a f***ed up blimp."

"Choppers in the air near it. What is that thing?"

So… this is weird. Last night around 11 P.M. PT, Ryan Adams launched into a barrage of tweets about spotting a UFO. Yeah, for real.

But unlike most other UFO sightings, Adams didn't see a blip of something for a fleeting moment. And according to his Twitter, he wasn't the only one. Adams claims he spotted a "huge" object while driving his car in Glendale, CA, a place with a history of UFO sightings. Furthermore, Adams tweeted the object was hotly pursued by police cars as well as helicopters.

"Three cops were tearing ass in its direction in oncoming traffic. Thing was huge. If it was a blimp then that was a f-cked up blimp," tweeted Adams. "Whatever I saw was like a real sci fi film come to life." . . .

OCALA, Fla.-Some Marion County residents have reported seeing unidentified flying objects in the skies over Ocala.

The UFO has been described as military-style aircraft, according to residents.

Eyewitnesses said the aircraft looked like a bunch of helicopters flying in formation with a large plane.

The mystery aircraft were most recently spotted Monday between 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., witnesses said.

A Navy spokesman said the military does not conduct operations at the bombing range in the Ocala National Forest at that time of the morning.

Nuclear Security Helicopters Testing Radiation Levels Above DC Area

By washington.cbslocal.com

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Helicopters have been conducting radiation tests above portions of the Washington, D.C. area using remote gamma radiation sensing technology.

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has been flying the radiation missions since Dec. 27, 2012 and they will continue until next Friday, Jan. 11. The flights have been conducted during daylight only, and the pilots fly about 80 miles per hour at 150 feet above the approximately 70-square mile radiation assessment area.

Naturally-occurring radiation is measured so that baseline levels can be established and used in security and emergency preparedness, reads a statement from the NNSA.

In addition to monitoring radiation levels and responding to radiological emergencies on the home front, the agency provides the U.S. Navy with nuclear propulsion and works to reduce the global danger of weapons of mass destruction, according to a release issued by the agency.

NNSA is making the public aware of the upcoming flights so that citizens who see the low-flying aircraft are not alarmed by the helicopters conducting the tests. The NNSA’s Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL) out of Joint Base Andrews will be performing the assessment for local law enforcement of Washington, D.C, according to the organization’s Dec. 26 press release. . . .

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Helicopters Pursue UFO Over Phoenix Skies!

UFO Over Phoenix
Reader Submitted Report
9-11-08

I traveled from Xxxxxxx to Phoenix on business on September 11th for a corporate event on the morning of the 12th. I was staying at the Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxx and think I was on about the 7th floor.

I had seen a sandstorm approaching on the horizon and at first thought it was a rainstorm. I'd been out on the balcony watching it for awhile until it got too dusty for my eyes, and I went back in.

When the storm passed and it got dark, I went back out and noticed a large stationary orange-yellow light, hanging in the air over the city. I kept watching it and noticed it wasn't moving at all but continued to get brighter. Immediately, a number of helicopters arrived from different directions and began closing on it, whereupon the light faded out over a few seconds. I continued to watch for several minutes, and after a flash of lightning near where it vanished, the UFO reappeared in the same spot and hung in the sky for another 10 minutes or so. Then there was another lightning flash and it faded out again.

I kept watching the sky and suddenly remembered I had a camera with me; a Canon 8 Mega Pixel digital camera that had a video function. I'd only had the camera for a few days and had never used the video function. It was easy and intuitive to operate though, and with its 12X optical/digital zoom and a 4 Gig memory card, I hoped I'd be able to get some footage that would indicate how bizarre this was.

After watching the sky for probably 20 minutes, I noticed the UFO off to the left over the city and began to film it. I took 5 segments of video and all are included. I recommend watching them in order, with the Intro video first. They start slow, but get better...
