UFO Hunters Plan Database to Track Sightings

An investigative organization has kick-started the creation of a worldwide UFO database, which will allow people around the globe to report their supposed extraterrestrial encounters.

A new tool from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) promises to help demystify the mystique that rides along with skywatchers' interpretations that extraterrestrial intruders are cruising Earth's airspace. But in today's age of video and cellphone cameras, iPhone apps, Twitter and other techniques, can these tools assist or hinder classifying the "strangeness factor" of UFOs?

Is such a database needed, and who cares? Moreover, what's the current status of UFOs in 2015?

MUFON's plan to plot out a new database is designed to advance the group's investigative and citizen-action sighting efforts.

The organization's mission is the scientific study of UFOs for the benefit of humanity, said Jan Harzan, executive director of MUFON, headquartered in Newport Beach, California. In that regard, he said that fulfilling this scientific quest requires the systematic study of the nature and behavior of the physical universe, based on observation, experiment and measurement.

"To do real science, one would need a way to collect and store observations and measurements taken from a given field of study" — in this case, UFOs — and also to retrieve and correlate this data in the form of analysis and possible experiments, Harzan said. . . .

The “UFOs and Nukes” Documentary Film: Public-Funding Update 2

In mid-November of last year, I posted an appeal for financial assistance from the public so that my documentary film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed might be completed. I indicated that the initial $100,000 budget—funds generously donated by a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous—had nearly been exhausted and that approximately $25,000 would be required to wrap up the project.

As of this date, $9,550 in new donations have been raised and an additional $5,000 mini-grant was given to me by the Lou Farish memorial trust, a ufological research support group. So, while my film production associates and I are closer to our goal, it has not yet been met.

Officially, the U.S. government ceased investigating UFOs in 1969, claiming no evidence had been discovered that would indicate UFOs are a threat to national security. UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed exposes that monumental lie once and for all.

“UFOs and Nukes” Documentary Film: Public-Funding Update

On November 15, 2014, I launched a public-funding campaign designed to assist the completion of my documentary film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed. Although an anonymous benefactor contributed $100,000 toward the project in 2013, those funds were close to being exhausted.

At the time I first requested assistance from persons who think that my nuclear weapons-related UFO research deserves greater public attention, I indicated that $25,000 would be needed to finish the film. As of this date, $6,250 in donations have been raised and an additional $5,000 mini-grant was given to me by the Lou Farish memorial trust, a ufological research support group.

Consequently, the funds raised to date total $11,250, a figure I am extremely pleased to report. Sincere thanks to the many persons who have contributed to the cause; you have greatly increased the likelihood that this important, historic film will be finished in the near future.

Over 150 U.S. military veterans have told me, during interviews going back to 1973, that UFOs have routinely monitored and even tampered with America’s nuclear missiles. Several articles at my website discuss the incidents in detail, some of which are confirmed in declassified documents.

Further, documents smuggled out of Russia by television investigative reporter George Knapp reveal that such incidents also occurred at nuclear missile sites in the former Soviet Union during the Cold War era.

Clearly, an unknown, outside third party—operating technologically-advanced aerial craft—have interjected themselves into human affairs in our recent history. Indeed, reports from U.S. Air Force veterans suggest that a UFO incursion at ICBM sites operated by F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming, occurred on October 23, 2010—resulting in a 26-hour disruption of the missile communications system at five launch-control capsules. My article about the incident provides the details.

(Once the still-secret comms-disruption was exposed by the Atlantic website, and picked-up by the mainstream media, Air Force spokespersons at the Pentagon quickly admitted that it had occurred, but claimed that it had only lasted 59 minutes, and further claimed that an improperly-replaced circuit card in a weapons systems processor had caused the problem. No UFO-involvement was acknowledged, of course, even though two now-retired missile maintenance technicians informed me, in December 2010, that a huge, cigar-shaped UFO had been independently sighted by several maintenance teams who were in the field during the disruption event.)

This incident and several others, extending back to the 1950s, are presented in my documentary. Hundreds of declassified U.S. government documents, together with the testimony of more than 150 military veterans I have interviewed over the years, confirm widespread, ongoing, and dramatic UFO activity at American nuclear weapons sites—from the late 1940s to the present day. A small cross-section of the evidence may be viewed at my website’s Documents page.

Believing that the public—in all countries—has a right to know the facts, I have been continually addressing this startling and perhaps ominous situation since 1981, via my university lectures, 600-page book, and dozens of articles, as well as during public appearances on CNN’s Larry King Live, in 2008, and at my “UFOs and Nukes” press conference in Washington D.C. in 2010. That network streamed the event live and the full-length video has been posted at my About page.

In 2013, a well-to-do supporter, who wishes to remain anonymous, provided me with $100,000 so that a documentary summarizing my research findings might be made. At this point, the film is 90% completed and a five-minute trailer from it may be screened at my Support page.

However, as of November 1st, the budget for the project was nearly exhausted and an additional $25,000 will be needed to finish it. Consequently, I recently began a public-funding campaign.

Over the past three weeks, more than $4,000 in contributions have been generously donated by persons living all over the world. Additionally, the Farish Trust—established by the late ufologist Lou Farish—has provided me with a $5,000 mini-grant, to help wrap-up the documentary in a timely manner.

Therefore, as of this moment, approximately $9,000—more than a third of the amount needed—has already been generated! Sincere thanks to everyone who did their part!

Every year I receive hundreds of emails from persons who first praise my four-decade UFO research effort, and then ask how they can assist me in my work. Well folks, donating even a small amount of money—I am suggesting $10 per person—to this public awareness film will be extremely helpful.

My book, UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, currently has an audience of a few thousand. On the other hand, a well-produced and fully-documented film on the subject will educate millions—and perhaps hundreds of millions—of people worldwide, regarding the reality of ongoing UFO surveillance of, and interference with, our nuclear weapons.

It will undoubtedly be a long, long time before the Powers-That-Be in Washington admit the seriousness of the situation. So what can We the People do in the interim? I have always believed that a massive, grassroots public information program is the best way to enlighten humans everywhere, regarding the numerous and still-occurring incursions at American and Russian nuclear weapons facilities, by unknown entities piloting vastly superior aerial craft.

Over the past 41 years, I have interviewed more than 150 U.S. military veterans regarding their knowledge of UFO incursions at American nuclear weapons sites, including incidents during which ICBMs malfunctioned, just as a disc-shaped object hovered over them.

CNN streamed my September 27, 2010 press conference in Washington D.C. at which seven of the veterans discussed their involvement in those or similar events:

My film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed, is currently in production and nearing completion. However, our funds will be exhausted before all of the work can be finished. Some of the computer-generated animation, post-production audio, and musical scoring is on hold. My colleagues and I estimate that an additional $25,000 will be needed to wrap up the project.

The purpose of this film is public education. The information I have gathered over the past four decades confirms the reality of UFO activity at American and Soviet nuclear weapons sites. The specifics, as reported by the ex-military witnesses and declassified documents, are both stunning and tremendously important.

Significantly, UFO incursions at American ICBM sites have continued to occur long after the end of the Cold War. On October 23, 2010, at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming, communications with launch officers operating 50 Minuteman III missiles were temporarily disrupted. According to my then-active duty U.S. Air Force sources, a huge cigar-shaped UFO was observed during the incident.

It’s clear that the American government does not plan to reveal these amazing and perhaps ominous developments any time soon. Therefore, a grassroots effort must be made to acquaint people everywhere with a situation that has been successfully kept secret for decades.

While my 2008 book, UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, has introduced this potentially paradigm-altering information to thousands of readers, a widely-distributed film on the subject will reach millions worldwide.

Dan Aykroyd, longtime paranormal and UFO enthusiast, has made an endorsement video for the Mutual UFO Network’s (MUFON) Kickstarter campaign.

Aykroyd’s work in TV and film is legendary, and he is a major UFO buff. The extent of his interested was demonstrated in the 2012 documentary Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs. It is 2 hours of Aykroyd talking about UFOs, which may sound boring to some, but I loved it. His level of knowledge on the history of the phenomena is remarkable. He shows he is at par with some of the top researchers in the field.

A video released recently the MUFON (seen below) shows he is still keeping up with the topic. In the video, he is endorsing MUFON’s Kickstater campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise $78,000 to remake their website and UFO database. The plan is to make the website and reporting interface more user friendly for researchers and people in the general public who wish to report their personal UFO sighting.

In the video, Aykroyd talks about his longtime interest in the topic of UFOs, and mentions the television series Psi Factor he produced with his brother. He explains that it “touched on inter-dimensional issues.” . . .

Imagine sitting on better than 40 years of research about UFOs monitoring and perhaps even penetrating U.S. nuclear missile systems. You’ve got more than 150 military veterans on record with eyewitness testimony. You’ve written a book and even arranged a 2010 press conference involving seven of these guys in Washington, D.C. CNN live-streams their accounts of what they saw tampering with America's WMD. CNN does no followup reporting. The rest of the indifferent MSM shrugs it off.

You’ve got the likes of Discovery Channel and History Channel wanting to produce your material. But you say no. To every one of them. Thirteen times you say no, because you’re afraid they’ll screw it up, the way they usually screw up UFO stories, burying it beneath lots of stagey cheese and melodrama. “Or they’ll pair good data with bad or questionable data that’ll wind up getting exposed as a fraud or less than credible,” says veteran sleuth Robert Hastings, who was unable to secure final-cut approval from the cable suitors. “Hollywood doesn’t know how to differentiate, and people are constantly appalled at how silly and slipshod these documentaries are.”

So this time, the author of UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites is doing it himself, more or less. With a major assist from an unnamed benefactor, Hastings has invested $100,000 in a documentary aspiring for a Frontline-like PBS tone. It's 90 percent complete, and you can judge the 5 1/2-minute long trailer for yourself:

But here's the tricky part: post-production.

Does anyone remember the last time Frontline used special effects to tell a story? Unfortunately, addressing UFOs in a visual narrative almost inevitably calls for illustrations. He's pretty sure he's got the right balance, but there are also audio issues to tend to, original soundtracking vs. canned music, cleaning up background distractions. In short, he's about $25,000 shy of polishing the thing off. Hastings says he considered going the crowd-funding route but determined that for as little as he needed, the process would be too cumbersome. So he's asking sympathetic parties to kick in at his website.

Hastings' documentary will put a dozen veterans on camera to share their stories, mostly from the 1960s and '70s, about repeated UFO incursions into restricted air space above the most destructive weapons in the history of warfare, but those testimonies will barely scratch the surface. Not only do UFOs appear to have been involved in the missile shutdowns, imagine this scenario -- recently brought to Hastings' attention by a retired launch control officer -- from 1974. "A glowing UFO hovering over one of the facilities actually started a missile launch activation sequence," says Hastings. The USAF veteran told him they had to throw an inhibit switch twice to override this apparent attempt to hijack the control board. Eventually the missiles went off-line.

"The maintenance guys who went down the next day said the circuits had been fried, they were literally melted by exposure to heat," Hastings says. Having signed a security oath, this particular eyewitness is declining to go public with his name, but Hastings says the guy's DD-214 discharge papers put him in the right place at the right time.

More broadly, Hastings hopes his documentary conveys the idea that -- above and beyond a Cold War aberration -- U.S. nuclear arms are the subject of ongoing UFO surveillance. As recently as 2013, Montana residents logged reports of UFO activity around Malmstrom AFB.

"I don't think they're trying to start World War III. They seem to be more interested in shutting down our missiles," Hastings reflected on that 40-year-old incident. "I think they activated the launch sequence just to see how it worked."

But as always, the question remains: Even if Hastings builds a strong case, will anyone -- particularly congressional chickenhawks -- tune in? Or care?

The U.S. government has suppressed information about UFO activity at American nuclear weapons sites for decades. Researcher Robert Hastings believes that people everywhere have a right to know the facts and has been speaking out since 1981. His 2008 book, UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, exposed the truth for thousands of readers.

On September 27, 2010 CNN streamed his press conference from Washington D.C. resulting in considerable, widespread publicity. A Google search for the press release announcing the event had as many as 2.7 million results.

But more needs to be done if this public information campaign is to be successful.

Hastings’ nearly-completed documentary film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed, will inform millions of people worldwide about longstanding and ongoing incursions by UFOs at U.S. nuclear ICBM sites, sometimes resulting in the missiles malfunctioning. Documents smuggled out of Russia confirm that the Soviets also experienced such incidents.
