Cylinder-Shaped UFO Reported Hovering Over West Jordan, Utah

Cylinder-Shaped UFO Hovering Over West Jordan, Utah

A Utah witness at West Jordan reported watching a cylinder-shaped UFO hovering while it changed colors before slowly moving away, according to testimony in Case 78051 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was a passenger in a vehicle at 7000 South and Redwood when the driver first noticed two lights hovering under 500 feet.

“At first I thought it was a plane,” the witness stated.“But the lights weren’t moving, just standing very still.”

The witness was able to describe the object better once they approached it.

“As we got closer, between the two bright, white lights was a cylinder-shaped figure. It turned into a glowing purple, and then slowly turned red, and then blue. As we passed I looked behind me to watch. Then it slowly started moving towards the northern side of Utah while changing into the three colors. Then I looked away. I felt very excited and shocked. I couldn’t believe my own eyes.”

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Air Traffic Rerouted at La Guardia Airport While Dozens Witness Cylindrical Shaped Craft

UFO Over Laguardia Airport
Reader Submitted Report
[Unedited]
10-4-09

     Dear Frank:

I witnessed a daylight sighting of a black cylindrical object over LaGuardia Airport in NY in the spring of 84'.

This sighting was witnessed by hundreds of other people and at least 50 of them where within 200' of me at the time. It was late April 1984 at around 2 PM. I do not recall the exact date.

I was supervising the construction of the Budget Car rental facility on Ditmars Blvd. and 84th Street in Jackson Heights directly across the Grand Central Pkwy from the approach end of LaGuardia's runway 4.

I was conducting a project meeting of contractors on the site inside an office trailer. This meeting was attended by about a dozen people including my immediate superior from the firm I was working for. When the meeting concluded we went outside to tour the site.

Upon going outside we saw all the workman on the site standing around looking up at the sky. They were looking at this black cylinder hovering motionless in the sky over the airport. There were many cars pulled over to the side of the boulevard and on the Grand Central Parkway with their occupants standing beside them also looking up at this object.

The weather was clear and cool with almost no clouds in the sky. It was fairly windy but other wise a nice early spring day. Aircraft were landing all day long every few minuets up to this point in the day. I soon realized that the planes were no longer landing while this thing was in the sky over the approach end of the runway. The tower had quite obviously diverted the traffic and stopped the
landings.

I am a former US Army Combat Helicopter Pilot with well over a thousand hours and more than 280 missions flown over Vietnam (June70-June71, 92nd Assault Helicopter Co, 10th AvBat.17th Group) . I received my Fixed Wing Private Pilots license at 19, my Commercial Pilots Helicopter license at 22 after finishing Army flight School in 1970. I know nearly every plane that exists and I know what I am looking at when observing aircraft in flight.

When I realized that the aircraft were no longer landing and that the air traffic into the airport was stopped I went to my car and retrieved my flight bag which I always carried with me and got out my flight guide publication to look up the LaGuardia Tower phone number. I called the tower from my trailer office and asked the person who answered the phone if they knew what the object in the sky over their heads was. He said " I am sorry sir, I don't know what you are talking about there is no object in the sky over the airport" then he hung up.

The black cylinder just hovered there motionless and soundless for more than 15 minuets. It was not being blown around by the winds at all and it never changed its directional orientation at all. By this I mean that one of its ends was facing East and the other end was facing West the entire time.

After about 20 minuets it began moving slowly in an easterly direction. No turns no altitude changes. It moved away in an easterly / southeasterly direction towards Kennedy airport. We watched it until we could not longer see it in the distance. Never made a sound, had no markings, no protrusions, no antennas, no apparent windows, portals, seems, joints, or hatches or the like.

Once it was out of sight the airplanes began landing again at LaGuardia. I never reported it to anyone because there were so many people seeing it out there that day. I saw a police car from the 114 Precinct pulled over on the side of Ditmars Boulevard with two officers standing beside it also observing this object. I was sure I would see something on the news that night but there were no radio or TV reports at all.

This object is exactly the same as the cylinder object now seen on a You Tube Video taken from a Russian fighter gun camera. It is what I saw in 1984.

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Witness Recounts 'Cylindrical UFO' Sighting

My UFO Experience

[Unedited]

This encounter happened forty years ago, when I was in seventh grade. At that time my family and I lived in Churchville, PA, near Newtown, in Bucks County (I later went on to attend high school at Council Rock High in Newtown). This area was an outlying suburb of Philadelphia - at that time still relatively rural with a lot of active farming happening.

Early on in the school year, mid-September I believe, we had a warm spell and the nights were still a bit stifling. I couldn't sleep, so out of frustration, I lifted the screen of the window over my bed and climbed out onto our garage roof. Earlier that summer our dad had bought the family a 3" reflector telescope which we all used to survey features in the night sky. While the particular night in question I didn't have the telescope on the roof with me (Dad would have killed me), since a few weeks before in August one of my brothers and I had camped out back to watch the Perseids, I was hoping to observe some meteors.

What I saw instead surprised me deeply. Traveling west-to-east, more or less directly over our house was a cylindrical object. It looked very much like one of the early communications satellites, but it was moving far too close to the ground - I would estimate no more than a few hundred feet up. It was silvery, with its sides slightly faceted, as if it was paneled by many narrow vertical strips. Close to the top and bottom edges of the object ran two narrow bands, broken up into a checkerboard pattern. In the center of the two circular end-panels at the top and bottom of the object sprouted two short clusters of antennas - I'd say four on each end. It really did look very much like a satellite.

The quality that really scared me about this object was its utter silence - it tracked steadily across the sky, seemingly close to the ground, but I could hear nothing. I was too scared to shout - my sister was asleep in her bed on the far side of our bedroom. After I lost sight of the thing in the eastern sky, I slipped back into the room and lowered the screen. Eventually I fell asleep.

The next day in science class, I remember asking my teacher if satellites flew close enough to observe details in their shapes. He said no. I then described what I saw and asked him what it was. He said, "You didn't see anything." I was really disappointed that he would brush me aside like that. I did otherwise respect him as a teacher, so his response in this case really blew me away. I suppose he just thought I was looking for attention. I did read later in our papers, and also heard from friends at school that there was a bit of a 'flap' going on in Bucks County at the time, especially around Gravel Hill Road over in Furlong near us.

But for a long time the only other person I told about this encounter was my sister. It was only decades later that I told my parents, who it turned out, had observed weird things occasionally over the years (mostly colored lights). Johnsville Naval Air Station was over in Hatborough near us, where astronauts used to train back when the Apollo series missions were still ongoing - I had visited the training facility there when I was in sixth grade. It was my mother's guess that NASA's activities there were 'drawing attention', so to speak.

Family's Fear as UFO Heads for Thier Home

UFO Over Hertford
By Hertsessex News
3-16-07

A FAMILY feared they would be "wiped out" when a UFO plummeted from the sky, heading straight at their Hertford home.

Reports of the bizarre phenomenon poured into the Mercury after the cylindrical object was spotted on Monday at around 4pm.

But none was more dramatic than that by mum-of-four Maxine Abbess, 44, of Pages Road on the Sele Farm estate.

She said: "My little boy was lying on his back on the trampoline in the garden when he said, 'Look at that black spot in the sky, Mum'.

"We thought it was a balloon high up and then it started to suddenly fall at such a rate that we all rushed into the house. We thought it was going to land in the garden.

"We slowly came back out to look and it had come to a dead stop - it was amazing.

"Then it slowly and silently started rising up into the sky and disappeared into the clouds."

Maxine's husband, Paul, 41, the head chef of Braughing's Axe and Compasses pub, their eldest son Sam, 18, and other sons, Aston, 11, Ayrton, 10, and Jenson, 8 - pupils at Wheatcroft School in Hertford who are named after fast cars and Formula 1 drivers - also saw the shape.

Maxine added: "It was terrifying. We really feared it was going to fall on us and wipe us all out.

"It was sausage-shaped and very dark. It wasn't a Zeppelin as there was no engine noise and it definitely wasn't a balloon. It was made out of metal."

Hertford office worker Jodie Enright estimated it was 500ft up when she saw it.

She said: "I spotted the UFO from my office window. It looked black, but it reflected the sun.

"It was floating up Caxton Hill from the direction of Ware Road, up and over our factory.

"It probably took 10 minutes to travel this distance and appeared to be listing and yawing in the wind.

"It was definitely cylindrical in shape and, as it appeared closer, you could see a square shape hanging from the end of the cylinder."

A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said: "If someone has invaded our air space we will be able to say whether the Russians have come or not.

"Our official who records UFO sightings has no reports of this incident."
