     One very interesting aspect of spending hours digging through old declassified CIA documents is occasionally coming across more evidence that the agency had a healthy interest in the topic of UFOs – particularly when the sightings took place in other countries.

For example, one Foreign Press Note dated November 22, 1989 and titled “USSR: Media Report Multitude of UFO Sightings” provides a rare glimpse into the UFO frenzy that was taking place during the cold war – not much unlike the spike in UFO interest that took place in the United States during the same time period.

In this particular report, the author provides excerpts from a variety of Russian media reports which detail the sort of sightings and claims regarding UFOs that were taking place in the USSR during the late 1980s.

Of particular interest in this report, was the plethora of witnesses and events that took place involving Russian military experts . . ..

1952 UFO Sightings Over Spain and Africa

     One interesting document, buried within the pile of documents released under the CIA’s 25 year program, is a fascinating 1952 report about UFO sightings over Spain and Africa during July through October of that year.

The report was drawn from information found in several newspapers throughout Spain and West Africa. It describes how a rash of UFO sightings started on July 14th, when multiple sightings of flying saucers took place over the Ifrane region of Africa, with most of the saucers flying toward Meknes.

The most significant recorded event first occurred on July 16th, 1952, when a group of people saw a large, glowing disk bouncing through the air in a horizontal line, followed by a flash of light and the appearance of a second disk. The sighting took place at around 9 PM at night.

The eight-page report details all of the documented sightings from July through October of 1952. It also proves that at the time, the CIA had an intense interest in UFO sightings in other parts of the world at the time, and went through the trouble of accumulating information about those sightings in other countries. . . .

     In July of 2011, the city of Calimesa, CA destroyed one of the largest single video and audio UFO collections in the world in a single afternoon. The destruction took place by a team of guys wearing anti-bacterial suits and face masks.

No, this isn’t a scene from some science fiction movie – this even really happened at a small house in Calimesa. Sherry, the woman that lived at the house, was found passed-away in the house on Tuesday. By Friday, the city had hired Ecology Control Industries (ECI) to clean out the house.
