UFO Over Jesus’ Head?

     The story of Christmas began when three wise men saw something strange in the sky and decided to investigate.

Anyone who's seen a UFO can easily relate to what those wise men might have been thinking, and that's what makes the images in these paintings so compelling.

Many unusual aerial objects depicted in paintings between the 14th to the early 18th century look, at first glance, like modern-day UFO sightings.

It's easy to wonder why artists of those long-ago centuries seemed obsessed with including these curious objects in scenes surrounding the stories of the birth and death of Jesus Christ.

The first example (above) here is a wall mural, or fresco, from 1350, "The Crucifixion," artist unknown, in the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Two odd-looking objects with "pilots" can be seen in the sky on both sides of Jesus. [...]

A strange disc pouring smoke and hovering over buildings has been found in a Romanian monastery wall painting thought to date from the 16th century.

     A strange disc pouring smoke and hovering over buildings has been found in a monastery wall painting thought to date from the 16th century - and UFO researchers claim it is just one of many old paintings which seem to show evidence of visitors from another world.

The image is painted on the wall on a 14th century church in Sighisoara - thought to the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure on whom the Dracula legend is based.

The photograph was taken by a tourist, Catalina Borta, and sent to UFO experts at the Israeli Extraterrestrials and UFOs Research Organization (EURA).

The caption on the painting says, ‘Israel, put your hope in the Lord,’ and the image is thought to date from just after 1523, when the Bible was first translated into German. . . .

John Lennon’s UFO Doodle Auctioned Off

     A doodle of a UFO made by John Lennon in 1974 was auctioned off last week and it went for nearly 10 times more than expected. The UFO drawing by Lennon fits the description of a UFO he says he saw in New York with his then girlfriend May Pang that same year.

Lennon’s UFO sighting is legendary in UFO lore. It took place in New York, during his self described “Lost Weekend,” which was actually not a weekend at all. This was the period from the summer of 1973 to early 1975, which he spent with Pang and separated from his wife Yoko Ono.

During that time Lennon completed several albums, including “Walls and Bridges.” It is a on an acetate album sleeve for “Walls and Bridges” that Lennon doodled, among other things, a UFO with the letters “UFOer” written on it. The sleeve, along with more of Lennon’s original artwork is on display this month. The sleeve was auctioned this past Friday, March 21. It was expected to fetch between £1,000 and £1,500 (around $1600 to $2500), but in the end it went for £10,000 (currently $16,530). . . .

UFOs: Hopkins has also spent more than 30 years investigating UFO reports and is considered a world expert on UFO abductions. Among the personal or professional relationships he writes about during his research are those with the astronomers Carl Sagan and J. Allen Hynek, the philanthropist Laurence Rockefeller, and the Harvard psychiatrist John Mack.
