Photographic hoaxes portrayed as authentic “Unidentified Flying Objects,“ (UFOs) or more often (these days) as alien space craft, have been around since the onset of what is referred to as modern day Ufology. In the ‘90’s, with the arrival of the PC and the internet, CGI or Computer Generated Imagery presented Ufologists with yet another challenge in separating the proverbial wheat from the chaff.
Today, researchers/investigators have something new to contend with, and with great irony it is employed by one of the greatest tools Ufology has for the 21st century, i.e., the cell phone camera, or more specifically various “Apps” therein.
Android applications like UFO Photo Prank, UFO Camera, UFO Photo Bomb, and Camera360 have gained notoriety recently, as examples of hoaxed UFO photos been published by mainstream media outlets around the world.
The most recent example was via an article entitled; Army Major Captures 'UFO' in Kannur, Kerala; yet another instance was broadcast by an Ohio TV News station.

For most seasoned Ufologists the hoaxed photos are blatantly obvious; unfortunately, that minority won’t stop the MSM from paying heed to the latest hokum produced; just as creative pranksters realized they could get attention via YouTube for their respective examples of CGI, the same pattern is starting to evolve with these various apps—oh joy!
