Mysterious Lights Spur Calls to UFO Center | VIDEO
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A lot of you got in touch with us asking about some strange lights in the sky last night. There is no alien invasion to report.
KIMA looked into it and found out a lot of you were also getting in touch with the UFO Center. Calls came in from Yakima, Zillah, Toppenish and Sunnyside.
We got some answers from the Yakima Training Center. The center says the lights were coming from some military exercises.
“There were a lot of people, the whole block was outside and lined up you know. At first everyone was like, kind of had the same reaction, 'oh no way it's this, that'”, said JR who watched the whole event.
The Yakima Training Center says the lights were either coming from illumination rounds or military beacons that can reflect light when it's foggy. . . .

UFO Caught On Tower Cam During Live News Broadcast | VIDEO
Just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 4th, KLKN's HD Towercam 8 gave Channel 8's Morning Meteorologist Sean McMullen a less than normal view.
"I have never seen anything like this before. I even say that several times while I'm on air describing the object, because I want to let people know even I don't know what this is, so I can't exactly tell you what it is," he says.
The triangular-shaped, flashing object appears to be floating above the Capital City.
By the time the sun comes up, we can't see it anymore.
McMullen says it was visible for about 45 minutes. A Channel 8 viewer captured similar footage.
"It's an unidentified object. We don't know if it was flying, floating, what it is," says Rich Webb, with the Mutual UFO Network.

UFO Fever Sweeps into Town

A TOWN has been gripped by a UFO frenzy after 16 mysterious 'balls of fire’ were spotted flying through the sky. The Scottish Sun

Local man Martin Forbes captured the spine-tingling moment on his mobile phone after noticing the bright red lights moving up over the Fraserburgh skyline.
The 21-year-old health and safety advisor said dozens of friends and neighbours witnessed the eerie phenomena as they passed overhead during a clear night in the Aberdeenshire village.
The two and a half minute video (above) shows several orbs of light rising into the sky travelling upwards into the sky.
Mr Forbes, who works for an engineering firm in Aberdeen, said he has “never seen anything like it before” in his life.
He said: “The ones that went up first were travelling at about the same speed.
“But the other ones after that, they came across the sky quite quickly, moving from a north to south direction pretty fast.”
Martin said a panicked neighbour grabbed a pair of binoculars to get a better look at the strange lights when they appeared on Sunday night.
He continued: “My neighbour said they looked like bright, fiery, red balls of fire with rings around them.
“My girlfriend called just at the same time as I was taking pictures and she was watching them too.
“There was actually quite a lot of people who saw them, they were totally silent.”
The 21-year-old also said there had been an unusually high number of military jets over the area in the days leading up to the UFO sighting.
He added: “What I found quite strange is that two days before that there was lots of military activity in the area.
“I think we had about eight different flyovers from jets, and I haven’t heard jets in months, so it’s a bit of strange timing really.
“The nearest base is in Lossiemouth, so they haven’t really got any reason to be over in this direction.”
But Martin dismissed the possibility that they could be Chinese lanterns.
He added: “I think it was a bit high up for Chinese lanterns and I don’t think they would be so bright.
“They don’t actually appear as bright as they were due to the quality of the video.
“Plus I don’t think they would survive very long in the Scottish weather.”
A MOD spokesman said they had no reason to investigate the claims.
He said: “The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.
“Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported.”

Swedish Association Opens 'World's Largest' UFO Archive

The world's largest UFO archive, with over 18,000 Swedish reports, pictures and foreign reports over mysterious happenings was opened to the general public in Norrköping in eastern Sweden on Sunday.5-11-09
"There was a great interest," said Clas Svahn at UFO Sweden.
A Swedish pilot in a Draken plane was flying over Småland in a training exercise in the 1970s. He received the order to break the exercise and fly towards an unidentified object lying still on the water.
As he approached the object suddenly shoots straight up - and the pilot takes up the chase. Despite full speed the pilot soon loses the object and it is never identified.
The event which confounded the pilot, is just one of the reports recorded in the world's largest UFO archive in Norrköping in southern Sweden. It is one of up to 1,000 reports worth taking a closer look at, according to Clas Svahn.
The Swedish UFO association held a series of lectures on Saturday in connection with the temporary opening of the archive.
"175 came to listen and there was a great interest. There were more than we have seen in recent years and there was a serious interest. We are very happy," he said.
There were then around 70 people in Norrköping for the opening of the archive on Sunday.
The archive is now closed once more, as the association works on a voluntary basis and does not have the time to do more than show the archive to, for example, researchers.
"One can come and have a look but in that case you have to arrange an appointment."
In response to the question over whether he believes in the existence of UFOs, Svahn answered:
"I am completely convinced that there is life in space. If life can exist here then it can exist elsewhere. But can they travel here? There is no conclusive evidence, but I do not want to answer for certain. There are mysterious phenomena that we can not identify, and they are not only optical illusions," Clas Svahn said.

MY UFO EXPERIENCE: Seeing is "Not" Believing

Not sure if your interested, but I just posted a comment on the ABC News, web page, regarding the “Seeing is believing” special. In part, its because of your response. I’m tired of seeing these shows and doing nothing. Maybe its time for all of us to stand up. Harrisburg, PA.

This type of “bubble gum” journalism is permeating everything facet of our society . Our parents believed in the news. Walter Cronkite was, at one point, the most trusted man in America! Now, what do we have, who can we trust. NO ONE.
The news organizations learned their lesson, during the Vietnam War, when the truth was transmitted directly into the homes of the American people. That’s when everyone learned not to tell the whole truth, about anything, to the American people. Anyway, here’s what I thought, about “Seeing is Believing”.
To whom it may concern,
Allow me to start by saying thank you, for your apparent willingness, to a least discuss the topic of UFOs. However, is it possible, to have an informed, through discussion, of the topic. One which includes all the facts. If Woodward and Bernstein conducted their investigation, of the Watergate scandal, with the same attention to detail, as all modern day journalist’s, Nixon would be remembered as one of our most respected Presidents.
ABC News interviewed, and didn’t use, over 100 interviewees, some of which were among the worlds most informed scientists, on the topic of UFOS. Stanton Friedman, and Dr. John Mack claimed to have been interviewed for over an hour, only to have a few seconds used.
Regarding Roswell, ABC News editors decided not to air an extended interview with, COLONEL Dr. Jesse Marcel, who allegedly handled the wreckage. Also, you didn’t even have the courtesy to mention the credentials, of Nuclear Physicist Stanton Friedman or Colonel, DR, Pilot, Flight Surgeon Jesse Marcel Jr.
How can you mention the incidents at Stephenville, and Phoenix without mentioning the Air force’s denials, omissions, and retractions. Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station (Fort Worth), said no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area the night of Jan. 8, only to retract his statement later, upon learning of the Radar data retrieved by MUFON, through the Freedom of Information Act.
Finally, when it appears a journalist will actually perform a thorough investigation, Stephenville, She is allegedly told to stop the investigation, and allow the story to die, or be fired. That’s what happened to Angelia Joiner, from the Stephenville-Empire Tribune, but that is never discussed either! Witness after witness, describes harassment, intimidation, and threats by the Military and Government. Why isn’t that ever followed up on, or mentioned?
One witness to the Stephenville lights, Ricky Sorrell, said he was told by a member of the military, “You need to shut your mouth about what you saw”. Sorrell, also claims to have had multiple phone calls from military personnel, one in particular ended after this person stated, “ Son, we have the same caliber weapons as you do but a lot more of them.” Your interviews never mentioned a word about any intimidation, or threats.
Please explain why so much time is given to professional Skeptic’s? Dictionary.com defines the word Skeptic as, “a person who questions the validity or authenticity of something purporting to be factual,” exactly what do they add? They don’t research the incidents, or conduct interviews, they do nothing but challenge the integrity of the witnesses, or researchers. Why is this an excepted procedure, when it comes to UFOS. I’ve never seen professional Skeptics on any other documentaries’, or show’s.
If that’s how ABC is going to conduct all its show’s, then fine, after every news story, on the Evening New we will have someone from Skeptic magazine come out and say, “well Dan, I’m not sure its been proven we ever actually went to the moon”, or “gee wiz Tom, I don’t believe there really is a War in Iraq!
Please don’t misunderstand, I love the idea of “Fare and Balanced News,” lets just all admit, that when it comes to UFOS “Seeing is Believing” is deaf and dumb!

Now the Unidentified Flying Object chase is taking a different approach. It’s been modernized. Former pilots and officials are calling for a new United States UFO probe. Maybe the old theories of aliens from outer space will be relegated to the background as the search for unidentified flying objects takes on a new tack.
Today, former military aviators along with others say UFOs can pose a national security problem.
Panelists from seven countries, which included former senior military personnel, created the recommendation for the government to reopen its UFO investigation. The international panel said the United States government could face dangers if such a suggestion is ignored. They cited 9/11, saying it is unwise to ignore radar returns, which cannot be associated with conventional aircraft such as airplanes and helicopters.
The first “modern” sighting of a UFO came in 1947 when pilot Ken Arnold noticed “a formation of flying discs in skies above the Pacific Northwest.” Within days hundreds of sighting of unidentified flying objects were reported, ranging from cigar shaped objects to high-speed triangles darting about the skies. Flying saucers or discs remained the most reported objects.
Over 12,618 UFO sightings were investigated from 1947 to 1969 by the Air Force in a program called Project Blue Book. Finally, the government stated the sightings were no threat. But stories continued with various themes including reports from people who said they were actually abducted by aliens from outer space. Even former presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter claimed to have sighted UFOs.
Since Project Blue Book was concluded the UFO reports have continued. In South America and elsewhere there have been moving pictures taken of unidentified flying objects streaking across the sky.
Personally, I grew up interested in the phenomena, although I never saw a UFO. When I was a teenager I amused myself thinking a rival country, such as Russia, possibly sent them aloft. Then I thought perhaps they were a natural phenomena created naturally by atmospheric conditions. After all, there are many things nature hands down to us that we have not discovered the “why’s and how’s” yet.
Most of us are familiar with the many stories and films that have come out about other- world aliens, pictures ranging from “It Came From Outer Space” to “Girl From Mars.”
The first author to spell out the credibility of UFO’s was Donald Keyhoe, a former member of the Federal Aviation Administration. His book “Flying Saucers Are Real” was a sensation in the early 1950s. After all, he was a well-known military analyst as well as being a former government official, who toured the nation with transatlantic flier Charles Lindbergh. Few people remembers however, that he was also a prolific fiction writer, who penned tales of master-spy Eric Trent and also Dick Knight, who was blind by day but could see perfectly at night.
Personally, I still like the natural phenomena theory. But the recent panel, organized by a group dedicated to accepting credibility for unidentified flying objects has urged Washington to resume UFO investigations through the NASA or the Air Force.
Today, my teenage fantasy of a rival foreign power launching such objects has more credibility than it did in the late 1940s or 1950s. Former Federal Aviation Administration investigator John Callahan said the CIA in 1987 tried to hush up sighting of a huge lighted ball four times the size of a Jumbo jet. Other UFO believers say authorities often dismiss such sightings without proper investigations.
Investigation of UFOs may come full circle. It might be taxpayer expensive but it can also be fun.
