Bigfoot Hunter Rick Dyer Confesses,
Again To Duping The Public

Rick Dyer, who once proclaimed he'd "go down in history as the best Bigfoot tracker in the world," has cried Bigfoot a few too many times. Last Friday Dyer confessed that the purported Bigfoot that he toured -- and charged folks to see -- was a fake.

In a post to his Facebook page, Dyer wrote a long and rambling confession. "Coming clean about everything is necessary for a new start," Dyer wrote. "From this moment own (sic), I wlll speak the truth! No more lies, tall tales or wild goose chases to mess with the haters!"

This chapter in Dyer's ongoing Bigfoot fantasy began in 2012 (some years after a previous Bigfoot hoax in 2008 to which he also confessed), when he claimed to kill an 8-foot-tall Bigfoot-like creature in Texas. He went on to declare last year that an unnamed university had completed DNA analysis and determined that the creature -- nicknamed "Hank" by Dyer -- was an unknown species.

In January, Dyer announced that he would take the beast on a national tour and charge people to see it. From the start, the tour encountered problems -- among them a lack of venues willing to let him display Hank, and Dyer's unwillingness to release the alleged DNA "results." . . .

(CNN) -- People confess to a lot of things on Facebook: their frustrations, bad habits, secret longings and new loves. A Florida man confessed to something much more sinister Thursday. He said he killed his wife.

Derek Medina, 31, posted a picture of Jennifer Alfonso's blood-stained body -- collapsed and contorted on the kitchen floor -- to his Facebook feed with a note, according to authorities.

"Im going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys takecare Facebook people you will see me in the news," he purportedly wrote.

Medina, who lives in South Miami, drove to see his family, to tell them what he did. Then he turned himself in to police, according to his arrest affidavit. . . .

Video: Balloon Boy Mom Confesses Hoax with Details, Contrary To Lies of Balloon Dad

Despite her husband's claims to the contrary, Balloon Boy mom Mayumi Heene repeatedly confessed that the family staged the hoax to boost their prospects in reality TV.

Video recordings of the interviews conducted by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office with Mayumi Heene disprove the claims made by her husband, Richard, during his media blitz before he began serving his 30-day jail sentence.

The videos, obtained by the Coloradoan on Friday through the Larimer County District Attorney's Office, show Mayumi Heene telling investigator Bob Heffernan that she and her husband decided to report their 6-year-old son Falcon was aboard a UFO-shaped helium balloon.

"Richard and I agreed to it, so it was mutual," Mayumi Heene told Heffernan after she was told she failed a lie detector test she willingly took.

Both Richard and Mayumi Heene pleaded guilty in November to lying to authorities in connection with the Oct. 15 incident. Mayumi Heene received a lesser sentence, in part because she confessed and cooperated, prosecutors said.
