REPORTS of a “UFO” seen over Perthshire woods turned out to be nothing more mysterious than a spotlight on a tree felling machine.
The unidentified flying object was spotted over Pitlochry last week by Adrian Musat, a chef from Romania.
The 40-year-old first noticed the object when he looked out of his window at 7.30am on
5 November. He managed to capture a series of images on his video camera before it vanished 40 minutes later.
At 5pm the same day the
alien-like object reappeared, hovering above Clunie Wood and emitting a “pulsing light”. Mr Musat took more pictures on his mobile phone.
But Forestry Commission Scotland today explained the sight when it pointed out the light was in fact a cabin-mounted spotlight on a harvester working in that area.
Mr Musat’s images had been passed to the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA), who launched an investigation.
But he admitted today: “The case is closed.” . . .

Eerie Video of UFO Captured Over Clunie Wood Being Investigated By British UFO Research Association (BUFORA)
For decades we have been launching objects into space, hoping to make contact with whatever is ''out there''.
But this footage, filmed in Perthshire by a Romanian chef, has sparked an investigation into the unknown.
Adrian Musat (40), from Pitlochry, captured an eerie white light seemingly floating in nearby Clunie Wood, the morning after Bonfire Night.
After bringing the home movie to The Courier offices in Dundee, a copy has been passed to the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA) for verification.
Mr Musat first spotted the bright object at around 7.30am from the window of his home in Walker Court and it appeared for a second time at around 5.30pm that evening, this time emitting a pulsating light. . . .

UFO Hunters: They Are Still Watching
A group of British UFO-watchers is celebrating 50 years of searching for spacecraft in the sky. What keeps them looking for extra-terrestrial life?
There are no windows in the functional-looking basement hall beneath a north London hotel. But everyone gathered here is gazing to the heavens.
Figuratively speaking, that is.
The annual conference of the British UFO Research Association (Bufora), is a gathering of enthusiasts for unexplained aerial phenomena that might, they speculate, be evidence of extra-terrestrial intelligence.
Dozens of them have travelled from around the UK to be here. They listen to guest speakers patiently and attentively. Many carefully take notes during lectures on such topics as "Ghost Rockets", "Political, Cultural and Social Influences of UFOs" and "Behind All The Anomalous Reports". . . .
