MONTEREY, Calif. —A door plummeted out of the sky in Monterey and luckily for people below, it landed on a roof.
The door fell off of a small private plane that had just taken off from Monterey Regional Airport Thursday afternoon. It landed on the tile roof of El Castell Motel on Fremont Street.
The plane's pilot noticed something was off, landed, and attempted to find his missing door, without success. Motel workers discovered the door a few hours later when a passing motorist noticed the shiny hunk of metal. . . .
