'Alien Secrets' Receives This Year's EBE Award

The 15th Annual EBE winner for the Best Feature Film held March 4th 2006 Laughlin Nevada was awarded to the film "Alien Secrets" Directed by J. J. Barmettler and Produced by Barmettler, Brandon Scott and Richard Smith.

EBE Award     Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2006 -- This year’s 15th annual film festival event was held at The Flamingo Resort and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada (Feb.26-March 4, 2006). The highlight of this weeklong gathering of scientists, experts, and enthusiasts culminated with The International UFO Congress Film Festival screening the best features, documentaries and short films dealing with UFO related subject matter. This festival recognizes provocative filmmakers with the coveted EBE Award.

J.J. Barmettler is an award winning Producer/Director with a background in feature films, dramatic and doc style television programs. He was Head Writer and Director on the successful TNT’s action/comedy television series, “L.A. HEAT” starring Steven Williams and Ken Tigar. He was Producer on the Daytime Emmy Award winning series “Adoption Stories” on Discovery Health Channel. Mr. Barmettler’s extensive feature film screenwriting credits include the HBO World premiere of “Rage”, Universal Music & Home Video DVD releases of the sci-fi film “Silencers”, urban action thriller “Riot” and the dark comedy “Pure Danger”.

“Alien Secrets is a good natured tale nested inside controversial subject matter”, says Barmettler.

According to Barmettler, “The film attracted many artists that had some sort of UFO experience at some point in their life – or just had a burning curiosity for the subject matter. We were able to gather the collaboration of many talented digital artists like Steve Neill, Martin Hjalmers, Bob Chapin, James Neff, and Cher Lyn. We attracted are large cast of actors and talent from many subculture arenas like cult maven Raven De La Croix, world renown magician Mark Wilson and the extraterrestrial channel Bashar. The intriguing UFO/paranormal experts in the film are ex-military intelligence officer Robert O. Dean, Author/researcher Dr. J.J. Hurtak, Author Budd Hopkins and Blackvault.com’s John Greenwald”.

The music in Alien Secrets is from an array of talented and award winning recording artists; Henry Iglesias, Hans Stiritz, Gailyn Addis, Robbie Longley, Anna Trevino, Fritz Heede, Michael Murphy and the band Mumbo Gumbo.

Award winning filmmakers that contributed footage include Roger Nygard (Trekkies 1 & 2, Six Days To Roswell), and past EBE winners Christopher Toussaint and UFOTV’s Tim Crawford.

“ It’s a story that has to be told,” commented a husband and wife team, both who are UFO researchers; “ So many of us go through the same experiences as the character Brandon Scott portrayed the movie, so we really identified with that.”

“ I am glad they didn't make fun of us” shared a young woman and UFO abductee. “It was funny in many parts and yet it was serious about the message”.

Another audience member was eager to share this with his wife and kids.

“I can’t wait to show it to my family” he said, “ I can never sit them down to watch a documentary on UFOs, this movie is fun and so entertaining, I think this will help them get exposed to the facts about this phenomena and it’s a great story to boot.”

After presenting the Award, Bob Brown, founder of the International UFO Congress, stated to the awards audience, ”I really enjoyed the film , I got it, I think most of you out there will… It has humor so we can laugh at ourselves. Very nicely done.”
