Swedes Mystified at Ghost Rockets (Heading) - The Des Moines Register (10-11-1946)

     Swedish Military authorities Thursday said they had been unable to discover in four months of investigation the origin or nature of mysterious ghost rockets flying over this country since May.

A special communique said 80 percent of the 1000 reports on the rockets could be attributed to "celestial phenomena" but that radar equipment had detected some objects "which cannot be the phenomena of nature or products of imagination, nor referred to as Swedish airplanes.

It said radar has registered in some cases "objects of different shape, generally combined with light and sometimes sound phenomena."
