Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick on UFO hearings: 'I don't want it to be a joke'

DETROIT, MI -- UFO researchers can't get Congress to listen to testimony about their extraterrestrial studies, so they're having their say this week before a group of former lawmakers including Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick, a former U.S. House representative from Detroit who is the mother of jailed ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, is one of six former members of Congress taking part in the five-day series of non-governmental hearings known as the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure in Washington.
"I think if there's something there that we need to discuss, then we ought to be part of that discussion," Kilpatrick told the Huffington Post, which is live blogging the hearings today.
"I want to hear the factual information and I'm taking it very seriously. I don't want to be ambivalent. I don't want it to be a joke. It's too serious. If we bury our heads in the sand and say there's nothing there, we lose, our country loses." . . .
