Former nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman says he has overwhelming proof that aliens have been visiting planet Earth for a long time. And he plans to talk about that evidence this weekend at a two-day UFO summit in Charleston.9-4-07
Friedman investigated the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico, incident in which some believe two alien spaceships crashed in the desert and alien bodies were recovered.
He insists the government is involved in a massive cover-up to deny the existence of alien craft. Friedman has authored books about unidentified flying objects. The latest, titled "Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience," is about an alien abduction.
Friedman is one of two keynote speakers scheduled for this weekend's event at the old Capitol Theater. The other is author Frank Feschino, whose first book was about the "Flatwoods Monster," a creature thought to have fallen from the sky in Braxton County.
The Friday and Saturday summit celebrates the 55th anniversary of the first reported sighting of the monster.
