Foo Fighters (The Band) To Play Roswell

FooFighters The Band

By Frank Warren

The band "Foo Fighters" has announced it's intent to do a "private gig" in Roswell in a hangar at the former Roswell Army Airfield. (RAAF)

They will perform on the 18th of this month and is by "special invite" only.

Dave Grohl, the band's founder is a self-proclaimed "UFO nut," and his record label is none other then, you guessed it "Roswell Records."

Before there were "UFOs," before there were "Flying saucers," before there were "Flying Discs," and "Ghost Rockets, there were "Foo Fighters."

During WWII, allied pilots reported sightings of unidentified flying objects "tailing" their aircraft; they were dubbed "Foo Fighters," which was an animated character at the time named Smokey Stover, he used to say, "Where there's foo there's fire"; the name stuck and would become a part of UFO history.

The event will mark the band's "10th anniversary" as well as celebrating the launch of their 5th album, "In Your Honor."
